Finding Serial Number and IMEI

The serial number or the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) can be found on the packaging material. Alternatively, dial *#06# on your phone or navigate to Settings > Regulatory & Security > IMEI.

1. Your Mobile Phone

1.1 Buttons and Ports

The mobile phone features the following buttons and ports:

  • ?SOS Button
  • ?Headphone Jack
  • ?Volume Button
  • ?USB-C Port
  • ?Speaker
  • ?Camera
  • ?Flashlight

Keypad and Navigation:

  • OK Button: Press the center to confirm an option or access the App List from the Home Screen.
  • ⬅️ Left Soft Key: Context-sensitive function, often used for 'Options' or 'Menu'.
  • ? Call Button: To make or answer calls. Press from Home Screen to access Call Log.
  • ↩️ Right Soft Key (Back Button): Context-sensitive function, often used for 'Back' or accessing Contacts from the Home Screen.
  • End Button: To hang up, cancel a dialing process, or return to the Home Screen. Press and hold to power off or restart the phone.
  • ⬆️⬇️⬅️➡️ Navigation Key: Navigate menus up, down, left, or right. From the Home Screen, it can access Tools (Left), Calendar (Up), Camera (Down), or Entertainment (Right).
  • 5️⃣ '5' Key: Press to enter '5'. Press and hold to turn the flashlight on/off.
  • '*' Key: Press to enter '*'. Press and hold to lock the screen. In edit mode, press to insert symbols.
  • #️⃣ '#' Key: Press to enter '#'. Press and hold to toggle vibration mode. In edit mode, press to change input method.

1.2 First Steps

1.2.1 Setup

Removing the Back Cover and Installing the Battery:

Follow the numbered steps indicated in the diagrams (visual representation):

  1. Locate the notch or seam on the back cover.
  2. Gently pry open the back cover.
  3. Insert the battery, ensuring correct orientation.
  4. Replace the back cover by aligning and pressing it into place.

Inserting or Removing SIM/Micro-SD Card:

Ensure the phone is powered off before inserting or removing cards. Place the SIM card with the chip facing down and slide it into its slot. Verify it is seated correctly. To remove, press down on the card and pull it out.

Battery Charging

Connect the battery charger to a power outlet and then to the phone. Do not force the charger. Ensure the battery is correctly inserted before connecting. The power outlet should be easily accessible.

To reduce power consumption, unplug the charger when the battery is full, turn off Bluetooth or background applications when not in use, and reduce screen backlight duration.

1.2.2 Turning On the Phone

Press and hold the End Button until the phone powers on. The display will light up after a few seconds. Press the Left Soft Key and then the OK (Right Soft Key) to unlock the phone.

The phone can be turned on and some functions used even without a SIM card inserted.

1.2.3 Turning Off the Phone

Press and hold the End Button, then select 'Power Off'.

1.3 Home Screen

The Home Screen displays the time, date, and network information. The Status Bar at the top shows status icons and notifications.

1.4 App List

Press the Left Soft Key or the OK Button from the Home Screen to access the App List. You can choose between two display modes:

  • Supersymbol Mode: Displays options with large, prominent icons.
  • 3*3 Mode: Arranges menu options in a grid layout with smaller icons and text descriptions.

Navigate to Settings > Layout to select your preferred mode.

1.4.1 Status Bar

The Status Bar at the top of the Home Screen shows icons indicating the phone's status:

  • ✉️ New Message or Multimedia Message
  • ? Silent Mode
  • ? Network Signal Strength
  • ? Headphone Connected
  • ? No SIM Card Inserted
  • Alarm Set
  • ? Bluetooth Activated
  • ? Battery Level

1.4.2 Changing the Home Screen Background

From the Home Screen, press the OK Button, select the Settings icon ⚙️, then use the Navigation Key to select Display > Wallpaper Settings. Choose a new image from 'Static Wallpaper' or 'Other Pictures' and press the OK Button.

2. Call Logs

2.1 Making Calls

Dial the desired number and press the Call Button to make the call. Alternatively, press the Right Soft Key to select a contact from your Contacts list. Use the Navigation Key to choose the desired contact and press the Call Button. Use the Right Soft Key to correct input errors. Press the End Button to end the call.

International Calls: To make an international call, press '+' twice, then enter the country code, followed by the phone number, and press the Call Button.

Emergency Call

If your phone is within network range, dial the emergency number and press the Call Button. This may function without a SIM card or PIN code depending on the network and country.

2.2 Answering or Rejecting Calls

For an incoming call:

  • Press the Left Soft Key or the Call Button to answer.
  • Press the Right Soft Key or the End Button to reject.

2.3 Accessing Voicemail

Press and hold the '1' Key to call your voicemail. Follow the prompts to set up your voicemail account.

3. Messages

Use the messaging function to send and receive text messages (SMS/MMS).

3.1 Composing a Message

  • From the Home Screen, press the OK Button and select Messages > Options > New Chat.
  • Enter the recipient's phone number in the address bar or press the OK Button to add recipients from your contacts.
  • Use the Navigation Key downwards to enter text in the message bar.
  • When finished, press the OK Button or the Left Soft Key, then select Options > Send to send your message.

3.2 Sending a Multimedia Message

With MMS, you can send video clips, pictures, photos, contacts, and sounds. On the message screen, select Options > Add and choose the attachment. An SMS will automatically convert to MMS if media files (picture, video, audio, etc.) are attached.

3.3 Entering a Message

In edit mode, press the keypad to change the input method and access numbers 1, 2, 3... or press and hold the corresponding key to get the desired number. You can type text using predictive text or press '#' to switch input methods.

For standard text input, press number keys 2 through 9 repeatedly until the desired letter appears. If the next letter is on the same key, press the key again until the next cursor appears.

Press the '#' Key to switch between modes like Abc/abc/ABC/123 or to select the input language.

To insert punctuation or special characters, press the '*' Key.

To delete previously entered letters or symbols, press the Right Soft Key to delete them one by one.

Message Settings:

From the message screen, navigate to Options > Settings.

  • SIM1/SIM2 Message Center: View your message center number.
  • Message Validity: Set the validity period for your message (1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, 72 hours, 1 week, or Maximum).
  • Status Report: Enable or disable delivery status reports.
  • Reply Path: Enable the reply path.
  • Coding Management: Set the character code (GSM-7-Bit, UCS2, or Auto).
  • Save Sent Messages: Choose whether to save sent messages.
  • Preferred Storage: Set the storage location for saved messages.
  • Export SMS: Set the SMS path for exporting.
  • Automatic Signature: Add an automatic signature to your messages.
  • Signature: Enter your custom signature.

4. Contacts

4.1 Viewing Contacts

Contacts provide quick access to your stored numbers. Access this menu by:

  • From the Home Screen, pressing the OK Button and selecting Contacts.
  • From the Home Screen, pressing the Right Soft Key.

Press the Right Soft Key to return to the App List or Home Screen.

4.2 Adding a Contact

From your contact list screen, select Options > New to add a new contact with detailed information.

When finished, press the Left Soft Key to save.

4.3 Editing Contacts

Select a contact, press the OK Button to access details, then select Options > Edit and press the OK Button to make changes.

4.4 Deleting Contacts

On the contact list screen, press the Left Soft Key to access Options, select Delete, and press the OK Button to confirm deletion.

4.5 Available Options

In the contact list, you can choose from the following options:

  • Call: Call the selected contact.
  • Compose Message: Send an SMS to the selected contact.
  • New: Create a new contact on your phone or SIM card.
  • Delete: Delete the selected contact.
  • Delete Multiple: Delete one or more contacts at once.
  • Import/Export:
    • Copy: Copy contacts between the phone and SIM card.
    • Import Contacts: Import contacts to your phone.
    • Export Contacts: Export contacts from your phone or SIM card.
  • Send vCard: Send a contact via SMS/MMS/Bluetooth.
  • Speed Dial: Set up speed dial contacts.
  • Storage Space: Check phone and SIM card storage status.
  • Own Number: Set your own name and mobile number.

5. SOS

From the Home Screen, press the OK Button and select SOS.

To set SOS call recipients, use the Navigation Key to select Contact List. To edit the predefined message, select Message.

The SOS mode is enabled by default. To ensure it is active, navigate to Activation and press the OK Button to check the box.

In case of sudden illness or other emergencies, press and hold the SOS Button to trigger an alarm, automatically send help messages, and dial preset emergency numbers.

6. Gallery

The Gallery allows you to view all your photos and videos, with options to edit them. Access this function by pressing the OK Button on the Home Screen and selecting Gallery.

7. Camera

Your mobile phone is equipped with a camera for photos and video recording.

7.1 Camera

To access this function, press the OK Button on the Home Screen and select Camera.

Taking Photos: The screen acts as a viewfinder. Position your subject and press the OK Button to capture the image. Press the Left Soft Key to save.

7.2 Video

Recording Video:

  • Press the Left Soft Key, select More Options > Video Mode.
  • Press the OK Button to start recording.
  • When finished, press the Left Soft Key. The video will be saved automatically and can be viewed in the Gallery app.

8. Tools

8.1 Alarm

The phone has an integrated alarm clock with a snooze function. You can set up to three alarms with different times.

8.2 Clock

The default clock shows your local time. You can select other cities to view their time zones.

8.3 Flashlight

Press the OK Button to turn the phone's flashlight on or off, providing a reliable light source when needed.

8.4 Calculator

Use the soft keys ('Up', 'Down', 'Left', 'Right', 'Center') to select arithmetic operations (+, -, ×, ÷) and the equals sign (=).

8.5 Calendar

The Calendar helps you keep track of important meetings and appointments. To create a new event, select the date using the Navigation Key, press the OK Button, enter the required information, and press the Left Soft Key to save.

8.6 File Manager

My Files manages all files stored on the phone, both on the external microSD™ card and internal storage.

8.7 Screen Magnifier

Press to turn on the screen magnifier.

8.8 Converter

The Converter supports weight and length conversions.

9. Entertainment

This menu offers various entertainment options, including Music, FM Radio, Recorder, Facebook, Games, and Opera Mini, depending on your device model.

To access this menu, press the OK Button on the Home Screen and select Entertainment.

10. Settings

To access this function, press the OK Button on the Home Screen and select Settings.

10.1 Phone Settings

  • Time and Date: Set date and time, including 12/24-hour format and date format (Year-Month-Day/Month-Day-Year/Day-Month-Year). You can also enable automatic time updates via Phone Settings > Time Settings > Auto Update Time.
  • Language Settings: Customize language-related options, such as display language and input language. Note that language and feature availability may vary by model and software version.
  • Shortcut Settings: Customize shortcuts for quick access to functions like Contacts, Messages, Camera, etc.
  • Auto Power On/Off: Set desired times and days for automatic power on and off.
  • Energy Management: View battery status.
  • Browser Selection: Choose your preferred web browser for internet surfing.
  • Restore Factory Settings: Resets your device to its original factory state. All data and personal settings will be permanently deleted. It is strongly recommended to back up important files before proceeding. Enter the default password '1234' to confirm and restart.

10.2 Profiles

Profiles allow you to adjust settings for different scenarios. You can set the tone mode to Normal, Silent, Meeting, Indoor, or Outdoor.

10.3 Bluetooth

After pairing with other Bluetooth-enabled devices, you can exchange data like video, pictures, and audio within a limited range.

10.4 Display

Adjust animation effects, wallpapers, and auto-lock settings. These features enhance your display experience and allow personalization.

10.5 Layout

Choose between two display modes: Supersymbol Mode and 3*3 Mode. Supersymbol Mode uses large icons, while 3*3 Mode uses a grid layout with smaller icons and text descriptions.

10.6 Security

Protect your phone by activating and changing the PIN and password. The initial PIN is typically 1234 or 0000, depending on your carrier. Contact your carrier if you encounter issues.

  • PIN: The SIM card's protection code is requested each time the phone is turned on.
  • Change PIN2: For certain SIM card functions (FDN), a protection code is required. Update it with a new code (4-8 characters).
  • Phone Locked: An unlock code is requested upon each power-on.
  • Change Phone Password: Change the phone password (default is 1234).
  • Privacy: Lock applications by entering the password (default 1234). Select checkboxes to enable locks for call logs, messages, camera, contacts, files, calendar, etc.
  • Lock Screen with End Button: When activated, pressing the End Button immediately locks the screen for quick security.
  • Fixed Dialing Number: Restricts calls to specific numbers or area codes. Requires a PIN2 code.

10.7 Call Settings

  • Dual-SIM: Manage two phone numbers on a single device.
  • Call Forwarding: Activate, cancel, or check call forwarding status to voicemail or a specific number.
  • Call Waiting: Enable/disable notifications for a second incoming call. Check the status of waiting calls.
  • Call Barring: Restrict certain types of calls. Control incoming and outgoing calls for privacy and security.
  • Hide ID: Conceal your identity during interactions to maintain anonymity.
  • Others: Includes features like call duration reminders, automatic redial, vibration on connection, and auto-reply SMS.

10.8 Network Settings

  • Network Selection: Switch between Automatic and Manual network connection.
  • Network Type: Select 2G/3G/4G(auto), 2G/3G(auto), 3G only, or 2G only.
  • VoLTE: Select VoLTE.
  • Network Information: View network information.

10.9 Connections

Configure data accounts, data roaming, data connection, and preferred SIM.

10.10 STK (SIM Toolkit)

Provides convenient SIM card management functions like SIM card services and applications.

10.11 Speech Report

Turn the speech report on/off.

10.12 SOS Call Settings

Refer to section '5 SOS' for detailed information.

10.13 Check for Updates

Select 'Check for Updates' to update the system.

10.14 Call Filter

Control your calls, block unwanted numbers, and create custom blacklists.

10.15 Manufacturer and Device Information

View information such as product model, manufacturer name, IMEI, and CU-reference.

10.16 About

View Privacy and Terms of Use.

10.17 Version Information

Press to display the software version.

11. Troubleshooting

Before contacting customer service, check the following:

  • Fully charge the battery for optimal operation.
  • Avoid storing large amounts of data on the phone, as it can affect performance.

Possible causes for error messages:

My phone won't turn on or respond:

  • Check battery contacts. Remove and reinsert the battery, then try turning on the phone.
  • Check battery capacity and charge for at least 20 minutes.

My phone has not responded for several minutes:

  • Restart the phone by pressing and holding the End Button.
  • Remove and reinsert the battery, then restart the phone.

My phone turns itself off:

  • Check if the phone is locked when not in use. Ensure you do not accidentally turn it off when intending to lock it with the End Button.
  • Check the battery charge indicator.

My phone is not charging properly:

  • Ensure you are using a TCL battery and the supplied charger.
  • Verify the battery is inserted correctly before connecting the charger.
  • Do not let the battery fully discharge. If discharged for a long time, it may take about 20 minutes for the charging icon to appear.
  • Charging should occur under normal conditions (0°C to +40°C).
  • Check input voltage compatibility when abroad.

My phone cannot establish a network connection or shows 'No Service':

  • Try connecting in a different location.
  • Check network coverage with your carrier.
  • Verify with your carrier if the SIM card is active.
  • Manually select available networks.
  • Try connecting later if the network is overloaded.

My phone cannot connect to the internet:

  • Ensure the SIM card's internet access service is available.
  • Check the phone's internet connection settings.
  • Be in an area with network coverage.
  • Try connecting later or from a different location.

Invalid SIM Card:

  • Ensure the SIM card is inserted correctly.
  • The SIM card chip must not be damaged or scratched.
  • The SIM card service must be available.

Outgoing calls cannot be made:

  • Verify you have dialed a valid number and pressed the Call Button.
  • For international calls, check country and area codes.
  • The phone must be connected to a network that is not overloaded.
  • Check your carrier contract status (credit, SIM validity, etc.).
  • Ensure outgoing calls are not blocked.

Incoming calls cannot be received:

  • Ensure the phone is on and connected to a network (check if the network is overloaded or unavailable).
  • Check your carrier contract status.
  • Ensure incoming calls are not forwarded.
  • Ensure specific calls are not blocked.
  • Ensure the phone is not in Flight Mode.

Caller's name or number does not appear when receiving a call:

  • Check if your contract includes this service.
  • The caller may have hidden their name or number.

I cannot find my contacts:

  • Ensure the SIM card is not damaged.
  • Ensure the SIM card is inserted correctly.
  • Import all contacts stored on the SIM card to the phone.

Call quality is poor:

  • Adjust volume using the volume keys.
  • Check network signal strength ?.
  • Ensure the microphone, port, and speaker are clean.

I cannot use functions described in the manual:

  • Check with your carrier if your contract includes the service.
  • Ensure no specific TCL accessories are required for the function.

When I select a number in my contacts, it cannot be dialed:

  • Verify the number was entered correctly.
  • For international calls, ensure the country code was entered.

I cannot add a new contact to my contacts:

  • Ensure the SIM card's contact storage is not full. Delete contacts or save them to the phone.

My callers cannot leave messages on my voicemail:

  • Contact your carrier to verify service availability.

I cannot access my voicemail:

  • Verify the carrier's voicemail number is entered correctly.
  • Try again later if the network is overloaded.

SIM card locked by PIN:

  • Contact your carrier to obtain the PUK code (Personal Unblocking Key).

The phone cannot be detected by others via Bluetooth:

  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled and your phone is visible to others.
  • Ensure both devices are within Bluetooth range.

How can I transfer data between my mobile phone and PC?

Connect your mobile phone to the PC using the user data cable and select 'SD Card' on your mobile phone to transfer data between a memory card/SD card and your PC.
