Introduction
This document is the user manual for the Ecler VEO-XPT412, a professional 4K HDBaseT extension kit designed to extend HDMI signals over long distances using Cat 5e or higher Ethernet cables. It supports high resolutions, advanced video formats, and includes features for audio extraction, RS-232, and IR control extension.
1. Precautions
1.1 Important Notice
⚠️ The flashing light with an arrowhead symbol inside an equilateral triangle indicates the presence of non-insulated "dangerous voltage" within the enclosure, which may pose a risk of electric shock.
⚠️ The exclamation mark within an equilateral triangle alerts users to important operating and maintenance instructions found in the accompanying literature.
WARNING: Terminals marked with a lightning bolt symbol (⚡) may carry sufficient voltage to pose a risk of electric shock. External wiring to these terminals requires installation by a qualified technician or the use of ready-made leads.
WARNING: To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this equipment to rain or humidity.
WARNING: This is a Class I device and must be connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective earthing connection.
WARNING: Ecler products are designed for a long lifespan. This product must not be discarded as unsorted urban waste. It must be taken to the nearest electrical and electronic waste treatment centre.
1.2 Key Safety Directions
- Read and follow all directions.
- Heed all warnings.
- Do not use this device near water.
- Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Do not block ventilation openings.
- Do not install near heat sources.
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug (polarized or grounding type).
- Protect the power cord from damage.
- Only use manufacturer-specified attachments/accessories.
- Unplug the device during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
- Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Disconnecting from mains: Fully disconnect by unplugging the power cable from the mains input socket.
- Equipment must be connected to a socket-outlet with an earthing connection.
- Marking information is located at the bottom/rear of the unit.
- Do not expose the device to dripping or splashing liquids.
1.3 Cleaning Directions
Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth or a slightly wet cloth with water and neutral liquid soap. Dry thoroughly. Ensure water does not enter the unit through any holes. Do not use alcohol, benzine, solvents, or abrasive substances.

4. Description & Features
The VEO-XPT412 is a professional HDBaseT extension kit comprising a transmitter and a receiver. It supports 18 Gbps HDMI® connectors for extending 4K video signals at 60Hz 4:4:4 up to 120 meters, or 1080p signals up to 150 meters, over a single Cat 5e or higher cable. Both units feature stereo unbalanced audio output via Euroblock connectors. The kit includes a bidirectional PoH feature for power sharing between units, and supports RS-232 and bidirectional IR extension.

- Support for HDMI® 18Gbps 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 with Colour Space Conversion technology, as per HDMI® 2.0b.
- Transmission distance: up to 120 meters for 4K/60Hz and up to 150 meters for 1080p/60Hz.

5. Panel Functions
5.1 Transmitter: Front and Rear Panel
The transmitter unit features the following ports and indicators:
- POWER LED: Indicates when the transmitter is powered.
- SERVICE: Micro-USB port for firmware upgrades and user-defined EDID uploads.
- DC 24V port: Connect the included 24Vdc power supply here.
- HDBT OUT: HDBaseT Output signal. Connect to the receiver's HDBaseT input using a Cat 5e or higher cable (point-to-point connections only).
- AUDIO OUT: Stereo unbalanced audio extraction output.
- HDMI® IN: HDMI® input for video and audio sources.
- IR IN: 3.5mm jack for connecting an IR receiver for IR pass-through.
- IR OUT: Connect the included IR Blaster here to extend an IR signal from the display to the source.
- RS-232 port: 3-pin terminal block for connecting RS-232 control devices (e.g., PC) or third-party control systems.
5.2 Receiver: Front and Rear Panel
The receiver unit features the following ports and indicators:

6. Install & Connect
Important: Use good quality standard Ethernet Cat 5e cable (or higher) for reliable connections. Shielded cables and connectors are mandatory to ensure a good ground signal reference and avoid electromagnetic interference.
⚠️ Please insert/extract HDMI® cables gently.
- HDMI® Signal Sources: Connect devices like Blu-Ray Players, STBs, etc., to the HDMI® input of the VEO-XPT412 transmitter.
- HDMI® Display Devices: Connect 4K or 1080p displays or projectors to the HDMI® output port of the VEO-XPT412 receiver.
- IR Blaster: Connect to the IR-Out port of the VEO-XPT412 transmitter and/or receiver.
- IR Receiver: Connect to the IR-In port of the VEO-XPT412 transmitter and/or receiver.
IR Blaster Connections:

IR Receiver Connections:

- RS-232 Source and Endpoint Devices: Connect devices such as PCs or Serial Controllers to the Euroblock RS-232 ports.
- Amplifiers or Audio Devices: Connect to the Audio Out ports of the VEO-XPT412 transmitter and/or receiver.
- Connecting Transmitter & Receiver: Connect a Cat 5e or higher cable from the RJ-45 output of the transmitter to the RJ-45 input of the receiver.
- Power On: Connect the 24VDC power supply to either the VEO-XPT412 transmitter or receiver. Only one unit needs to be plugged into the mains socket; both will then operate.
? Bidirectional powering enables power sharing between the transmitter and receiver over the same HDBaseT cable, reducing the need for a second power source.
