Installation Steps
Step 1: Prepare the Countertop
Marking the Cut-out: Place the sink upside down on the countertop. Use the sink itself or provided template pieces to trace the outline for the cut-out. Ensure correct positioning relative to the edges of the countertop. Specific measurements are provided in diagrams, for example:
- For one configuration, mark 55 mm (2 1/8") from the front edge and 65 mm (2 9/16") from the side edge.
- For another configuration, mark 65 mm (2 1/2") from the front edge and 65 mm (2 1/2") from the side edge.
Cutting the Opening: Drill pilot holes (Ø 1/8" or 3 mm, 4x) at the corners inside the marked cut-out area. Use a jigsaw to carefully cut along the traced lines. An offset of approximately 10 mm (3/8") from the inner line might be needed for the final cut, depending on the sink model.
Sealing Cut Edges: Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant along all cut edges of the countertop opening. This is crucial to prevent water damage.
Step 2: Install the Sink
Positioning: Carefully lower the sink into the prepared opening in the countertop. Ensure it fits snugly and is correctly aligned.
Securing the Sink: Attach the provided mounting brackets to the underside of the sink. Use the adhesive strips (9x or 12x) to help position the sink. Then, from underneath the countertop, use the mounting clips (e.g., part 110385 and 109184) to secure the sink to the countertop. Tighten the clips evenly, typically to a depth of 28-40 mm (1 1/8" - 1 5/8") from the edge of the countertop.
Diagrams show the placement of clips and the tightening process.
Step 3: Install Water Trap and Faucet
Water Trap Assembly: Assemble the water trap components as shown in the diagrams (e.g., part numbers 148966, 148962). Connect the assembled water trap to the sink's drain outlets.
Faucet Installation: Install your mixer tap (faucet) according to its specific installation instructions. Ensure there is adequate clearance, for example, a minimum of 65 mm (2 9/16") from the sink edge to the faucet base.
Diagrams illustrate the water trap assembly and connection, and the faucet placement with minimum clearance.
