BREDSJÖN Sink Installation Guide
This guide provides instructions for installing the IKEA BREDSJÖN sink.
Important Notes Before Installation
Follow the installation instructions supplied with the mixer tap and the water-trap. Silicone is not included. To prevent water from entering between the countertop and the sink, seal the gap with silicone. Screws or mounting fittings to fix the furniture/object to the wall/ceiling are not included. Choose screws or mounting fittings that are suitable for use in your wall/ceiling and have enough holding power. If you are uncertain, contact your local specialised dealer.
Installation Steps
- Preparation: Ensure you have the mixer tap and water trap with their respective installation instructions. Note that silicone sealant is not provided and must be purchased separately.
- Sealing: To prevent water leakage between the countertop and the sink, apply silicone sealant to the cut edges of the countertop where the sink will be fitted.
- Mounting the Sink:
- Place the sink into the prepared opening in the countertop.
- Ensure a minimum clearance of 80 mm is maintained from the back edge of the sink to the wall.
- Secure the sink using the provided mounting brackets and screws. The diagram shows two types of brackets (10036176 and 102720) and screws (109049 and 139201).
- Refer to the diagrams for precise placement and tightening of screws.
- Connecting the Faucet and Water Trap: Follow the separate instructions provided with the faucet and water trap.
- Securing to the Wall/Cabinet:
- Use the provided brackets (e.g., 108458) and screws (e.g., 108458) to attach the sink unit to the cabinet or wall.
- Ensure the brackets are securely fastened to the cabinet or wall, using appropriate wall fixings if necessary.
- The diagrams illustrate the use of specific brackets and screws for securing the sink assembly.
- Final Check: Ensure all connections are secure and the sink is properly sealed.

Note on Silicone: Silicone sealant is crucial for preventing water damage. Ensure all cut edges and potential leak points are thoroughly sealed.
