Introduction
Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing this product. The safety precautions and recommendations provided are for your safety and that of others, and will help you make full use of your appliance's features. Please preserve this booklet carefully for future reference.
This appliance is designed exclusively for cooking foodstuffs. Any other use is considered inappropriate and dangerous. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by improper, incorrect, or illogical use.
CE Declaration of Conformity: This hob is designed for use only as a cooking appliance. It conforms to Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC, EMC Directive 89/336/EEC, and Directive 93/68/EEC.
Important Information for Correct Disposal: At the end of its working life, this product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It should be taken to a special local authority waste collection centre or a dealer providing this service. This ensures that constituent materials can be recovered, saving energy and resources. The product is marked with a crossed-out wheel bin [crossed-out-wheel-bin] to remind you of this requirement.
Before Using for the First Time & Safety Recommendations
Before First Use:
- Read instructions carefully before installing and using.
- After unpacking, check for damage. If in doubt, contact your supplier or a qualified engineer.
- Remove all packaging and keep materials away from children, as they can cause injury. Packaging materials are recyclable.
- Installation and electrical connections must be made by a qualified engineer, following local regulations and manufacturer's instructions.
- Do not attempt to modify the appliance's technical properties, as this can make it dangerous.
Important Safeguards & Recommendations:
- Perform cleaning or maintenance only after disconnecting the appliance from the electrical supply.
- Hob parts become very hot during and after use; do not touch hot parts.
- Always ensure controls are in the OFF position after use.
- Supervise young children to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep children away from the hob during use.
- The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons unless adequately supervised.
- Do not allow young children or infirm persons to use the appliance without supervision.
Warnings:
- When correctly installed, the product meets safety requirements. Exercise caution around the underside of the appliance, as it may have sharp or rough edges.
- Fire Risk! Do not leave inflammable materials on the hob top.
- Ensure electrical cords of nearby appliances do not contact the hob top.
- Do not drop heavy or sharp objects on the glass ceramic hob. If cracked or damaged, unplug and call after-sales service.
- Do not scratch the hob with sharp objects. Do not use the hob as a work surface.
- Before disposing of an appliance, make it inoperative and its hazardous parts harmless.
- This appliance is designed for domestic use only, not for semi-commercial, commercial, or communal environments.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.

Cooking Zones Features
The ceramic surface facilitates fast heat transmission. Heat does not spread horizontally, keeping the glass cool a few centimeters from the cooking plate. Cooking zones are indicated by painted disks. Ensure the cooktop is clean before use.
Important Note: Heating elements have a thermolimiter to protect the ceramic glass from overheating. Using incorrect pans or positioning can cause the limiter to operate more frequently, reducing performance.
Hi-Light Radiant Zones:
The heating element is a coil of resistant material that quickly reaches working temperature.

Hi-Light Double Zone and Hi-Light Oval Zones:
The heating element consists of two coils of resistant material. The surface area of these zones can be reduced by switching off the second element (see page 15).

Cooking Hints

Residual Heat Indicator & Further Cooking Hints
The 'H' symbol on the touch control display indicates that a cooking plate is over 60°C and the surface is still hot, even after being switched off. This residual heat can last for a considerable time. Avoid touching the hob surface in these areas. Ensure children are kept away. The 'H' symbol switches off automatically when the surface temperature drops below 60°C.
Cooking Hints:
- Use the fast cooking function to reduce cooking time (see page 16).
- Use pots and pans with flat bases, preferably those marked for glass-ceramic hobs.
- Match the pan diameter to the cooking plate size (or slightly larger) for optimal energy use.
- Utilize residual heat by switching off the hob 5-10 minutes before cooking finishes.
- Save energy by using pan lids whenever possible.
- Never cook food directly on the glass ceramic cooktop; use special pans or containers.
Warning: Hobs become very hot and retain heat for a long time (approx. 30 minutes) after use. Children must be supervised and prevented from touching hot surfaces until the appliance has cooled.
Safety Hints
- Before switching on, familiarize yourself with the touch controls for each cooking zone. It is advisable to place the pan on the zone before switching it on.
- Do not use pots and pans with rough bases (e.g., cast-iron) as they can scratch the glass surface.
- Ensure the base of your saucepan is clean and dry before placing it on the hob.
- Pots with aluminium bottoms may leave silver streaks or spots.
- Do not leave wet or damp lids on the hob.
- Keep the glass-ceramic surface and pans clean. Remove food residue (especially sugar) with a suitable cleaning agent.
- Pan handles should not extend beyond the kitchen worktop to prevent knocking pans over and to keep them out of reach of children.
- Do not use the hob if the glass surface is broken or cracked. Disconnect from mains and contact after-sales service.
- Do not lean over the cooking plate while in use.
- Do not place cooking foil or plastic materials on the ceramic surface when it is hot.
- Remember the surface remains hot for about 30 minutes after switching off.
- Follow cleaning instructions carefully.
- Never use the glass surface for storage.

How to Use the Touch Control
Note: Some features (Minute minder, Program key for automatic turn-off, Dial clock display) may not be available in all models (e.g., Fig. 1.1).
The touch control panel features keys for activating and adjusting cooking zone power levels. A luminous point indicates the active zone or circuit.
Display Messages:
- 0 = Cooking zone turned OFF.
- 1-9 = Power range of lighted cooking zone.
- A = Automatic heating (alternates with preset power level).
- H = Afterheat (cancelled when temperature drops below 60°C).
- L = Locked touch control (for children's safety).
Turning the Touch Control ON and OFF:
- Starting: Press the ON/OFF key (⓿) and hold until the control lights up. Displays show '0'. A blinking point indicates no zone is active. If a zone is hot, 'H' alternates with '0'. If child lock is active, 'L' is displayed. If a zone is hot and locked, 'H' alternates with 'L'. Note: The control switches off if no zone is activated within 20 seconds.
- Switching Off: Press the ON/OFF key (⓿) at any time. All cooking zones turn OFF. Hot zones will display 'H' until they cool below 60°C.
Power Ignition and Adjustment of a Cooking Zone:
- Press the zone key (e.g., ⓿) to activate it. The corresponding zone display lights up, and a point on the bottom right blinks. If the zone is hot, 'H' alternates with '0'.
- Press the '+' key and hold to set the desired power level (1-9). Alternatively, press the central key to start from level 9 down to 1. The display shows the selected power level, and the bottom right point remains lit for 10 seconds. Adjustment is possible while the point is lit.
Power Adjustment of a Heated Cooking Zone:
- Press the zone key to activate it for adjustment. The bottom right point lights up.
- Press the '+' or '-' key and hold until the desired power level is set. The display shows the new level, and the point remains lit for 10 seconds.
Functioning of Double and Oval Cooking Zones:
These zones consist of two circuits that can be used in two modes:
- Extended cooking zone: Both first and second heating circuits are ON.
- Reduced cooking zone: Only the first heating unit is ON.
When activated, both circuits light up. A luminous point indicates both circuits are ON.
Switching the Second Heating Circuit OFF and ON Again:
- To turn OFF the second circuit: Press the relevant key. The luminous point turns OFF. Only the first heating circuit remains ON.
- To turn ON the second circuit again: Press the relevant key. The luminous point lights up, and the second circuit turns ON.
Fast Automatic Heating of the Cooking Zones:
This function provides rapid heating to the maximum power level, followed by heating at a preset level. The duration of the fast heating period depends on the selected power level.
- Press the zone key to activate it. The bottom right point lights up.
- Press the '+' key to select power level 9, then release. The display shows '9', and the point is illuminated.
- Press the 'A' key (or equivalent for fast heating) to activate the fast heating function. The display shows 'A', and the point is illuminated.
- Press the '-' key and hold until the desired power level (1-9) is reached. The display shows the preset power level, and the point is illuminated.
After a few seconds, the display shows 'A' alternating with the preset power level. The zone operates at maximum power for the scheduled time. Upon expiry, 'A' switches off, and the zone continues at the preset level.
Power Level Modification During Automatic Fast Heating Up: Power level can be increased but not reduced during fast heating.
Interruption of Automatic Fast Heating Up: Press the zone key to activate, then press the '-' key. 'A' disappears, but the power level remains lit.
Turning Off the Cooking Zone:
- Individual Zone: Press the zone key to activate it. Then, press '-' and '0' keys simultaneously (Method A) or press and hold the central key until '0' is displayed (Method B). The zone turns OFF. If hot, 'H' is displayed.
- All Zones: Press the ON/OFF key (⓿). All cooking zones turn OFF. Hot zones display 'H'.
Protection Against Unwanted Turn-On:
If a key is held for over 10 seconds, the control locks, emitting an audio warning and displaying an error code (e.g., 'Er03'). If a zone is hot, 'H' alternates with the error signal. The control remains locked until the obstruction is removed.
Afterheat in Cooking Zones:
The 'H' symbol indicates the cooking zone is too hot to touch. It turns OFF when the temperature drops below 60°C.
Operation Time Limit of Cooking Zones:
Each cooking zone automatically switches OFF after a maximum preset time if no operation is performed. This limit depends on the power level set. Using the '+' or '-' keys resets the operation time.

Safety Key-Lock to Protect Children
This function locks touch-control keys against unwanted activation. It remains active even after power failure. It can only be deactivated by a specific operation. Before using cooking zones, temporarily remove the locks; they reset automatically when the touch control is switched OFF.
Activation of the Children's Protecting Safety Lock:
- Press the ON/OFF key (⓿) until the control turns on. Displays show '0', bottom right points blink.
- Press the key at the bottom right side and the central key simultaneously, then release.
- Press the key at the bottom right side again. 'L' (locked) appears. If the hob is hot, 'L' and 'H' alternate. No control except ON/OFF is usable.
Temporarily Unlocking the Keys for Cooking Purposes:
With the control ON and keys locked ('L' displayed), press the key at the bottom right side and the central key simultaneously. The 'L' indicators change to '0' with blinking points, showing keys are unlocked.
The keys remain unlocked until the touch control is switched OFF. Upon reactivation, the safety lock will re-engage, displaying 'L'.
Elimination of the Children's Protecting Safety Lock:
- With the touch control ON, press the key at the bottom right side and the central key simultaneously, then release. 'L' is replaced by '0' with its blinking point.
- Press the ON/OFF key (⓿) again. The children's lock will NOT be reactivated after the touch control is switched OFF. To reset the safety lock, follow activation instructions.
Program for Automatic Switching Off the Cooking Zones
(Not available for models in Fig. 1.1)
This function allows setting a timer (1-99 minutes) for automatic turn-off of cooking zones. Luminous points around the timer display indicate the zone being programmed.
To set the program, the cooking zone must be ON and adjusted to the required power level.
- Ensure the luminous point next to the cooking zone display is blinking. If not, press the '+' key to activate it. The bottom right point lights up.
- Press the timer key (Ⓧ) and release. The timer display shows '00' and the blinking point of the involved zone.
- Method A (0-99 minutes): Press and hold the timer key (Ⓧ) until the desired setting is achieved. To count back, press the '-' key.
- Method B (Fast adjustment at 60 minutes): Press the timer key (Ⓧ) and release. The display shows '60'. Time can be increased up to 99 minutes by pressing the timer key within 10 seconds, or decreased using the '-' key.
The countdown starts immediately. All cooking zones can be programmed simultaneously. The timer display shows the time for the latest selected zone.
Upon expiry of the preset time: The cooking zone turns OFF. Its display shows 'H', and the timer display shows '00' and blinks. A sound signal activates for 2 minutes (can be silenced by pressing any button). If no other zone is programmed, the timer display switches OFF. If no zones are lit, the touch control disconnects after 20 seconds.
Minute Minder
(Not available for models in Fig. 1.1)
This function sets an audio signal upon countdown expiry (1-99 minutes). It does not affect hob operation. The touch control must be switched ON.
- Press the timer key (Ⓧ) and release. The timer display shows '00', and the bottom right point blinks.
- Method A (0-99 minutes): Press and hold the timer key (Ⓧ) until the setting is achieved. To count back, press the '-' key.
- Method B (Fast adjustment at 99 minutes): Press the timer key (Ⓧ) and release. The display shows '60'. Time can be increased up to 99 minutes by pressing the timer key within 10 seconds, or decreased using the '-' key.
The countdown starts immediately. Upon expiry, the timer display shows '00' and blinks, and an audio signal sounds for 2 minutes (can be silenced).
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning the Ceramic Hob:
- Ensure the hob is switched OFF before cleaning.
- Remove spillages and incrustations.
- Dust or food particles can be removed with a damp cloth.
- Use only non-abrasive or non-scouring detergents. Abrasive powders can damage the glass surface.
- Remove all cleaner traces with a damp cloth.
- Remove dust, fat, and liquids from food spills as soon as possible, especially sugar/syrup mixtures, which can permanently pit the surface if burned on.
- If products melt onto the surface, remove immediately (while still hot) using a scraper to avoid permanent damage.
- Do not place meltable items (plastic, foil, sugar) on the hob.
- Avoid using knives or sharp utensils, as they can damage the ceramic surface.
- Do not use steel wool or abrasive sponges, as they can scratch the surface.
Stainless Steel Elements (if applicable):
- Rinse stainless steel parts with water and dry with a soft cloth or chamois leather.
- For persistent dirt, use commercially available non-abrasive products or a little hot vinegar.
Do not use a steam cleaner, as moisture can make the appliance unsafe.
Installation
Caution:
- This appliance should only be serviced by authorized personnel.
- Installation must be performed by an authorized person according to local regulations and manufacturer's instructions. Incorrect installation may cause injury or damage.
- Always disconnect the cooktop from the mains power supply before any maintenance or repair.
Warning:
- The adhesive bonding laminate to furniture must withstand temperatures of at least 150°C to prevent delamination.
- The appliance must be housed in heat-resistant units.
- Unit walls must withstand temperatures of 75°C above room temperature.
Installation Dimensions:
The cooktop can be built into a working surface 30-40 mm thick and 600 mm deep.
Cut-out dimensions and clearances:
- A partition should be fitted a minimum of 2 cm below the base of the hob.
- The ceramic hob must be at least 50 mm from any side wall.
- The rear wall must be at least 50 mm from the ceramic hob.
- There must be a distance of at least 650 mm between the hob and any wall cupboard or extractor hood positioned above.
- Wall coatings near the cooktop must be heat-resistant.
- Do not install the appliance near inflammable materials (e.g., curtains).
Diagrams (Fig. 5.1a, 5.1b, 5.2, 5.3) illustrate specific dimensions for cut-outs, clearances, and placement within kitchen units.
Fastening the Cooktop:
The kit includes tabs (A) and self-threading screws (B).
- Cut the unit.
- Turn the hob upside down, resting the glass side on a cloth.
- Spread the seal (C) around the hob edge.
- Insert tabs (A) into mountings, tightening screws (B) slightly. Ensure tabs are correctly mounted.
- Position the cooktop into the cut-out hole.
- Insert tabs (A) so the tooth (D) goes into the hole.
- Tighten screws (B) until the cooktop is secure.
- Use a sharp tool to cut off any protruding gasket (C).
Electrical Connection
For the United Kingdom Only:
Important: Installation must follow manufacturer's instructions. Incorrect installation can cause harm or damage. Disconnect from mains before electrical work. A good earth wiring system is essential.
Details:
- Installation must be by a qualified electrician, adhering to I.E.E. and local regulations.
- Check the appliance's voltage rating against the mains supply voltage. Ensure wiring can handle the appliance's power rating.
- Connect using fixed wiring via an omnipolar switch (3 mm minimum contact opening). Use an appropriate fuse.
- The double pole switch must be within 2 metres of the appliance. Conductors must withstand 75°C ambient temperature.
- The power switch must always be accessible after installation.
Wiring Colours: Green & Yellow = Earth, Blue = Neutral, Brown = Live. If mains lead colours differ from terminal markings, connect as follows: Green/Yellow wire to terminal marked E (Earth) or [earth-symbol] or Green. Blue wire to terminal marked N (Neutral) or Black. Brown wire to terminal marked L (Live) or Red.
Note: Never use adaptors, reductions, or multiple power points for mains connection, as they can overheat and cause fire.
If modifications to the mains wiring system are needed, consult a qualified technician. If the hob surface is cracked, disconnect from mains and contact After-Sales Service.
The cooktop must be connected to a suitable double pole control unit adjacent to the cooktop. No diversity can be applied to this control unit.
Diagrams (Fig. 6.1, 6.2) show terminal connections.
For Other Countries:
Important: Installation must follow manufacturer's instructions. Incorrect installation can cause harm or damage. Disconnect from mains before electrical work. A good earth wiring system is essential.
Electrical Requirements:
- Connection must be by a qualified technician following safety regulations.
- Check that the appliance's voltage rating matches the mains supply and that cable sections can withstand the load.
- Connect directly to the mains via a two-pole switch with a minimum 3 mm contact opening.
- The power supply cable must not touch hot parts and should be positioned so it does not exceed 50°C above ambient temperature.
- The switch must always be accessible after installation.
Note: Never use adaptors, reductions, or multiple power points for mains connection, as they can overheat and cause fire.
If modifications to the mains wiring system are needed, consult a qualified technician. If the hob surface is cracked, disconnect from mains and contact After-Sales Service.
Connecting the Feeder Cable:
Follow these steps to connect the feeder cable:
- Unscrew screw A of the terminal board.
- Unlock clips B and open cover C.
- Unscrew screw D and open cable clamp E.
- Position U bolts F onto terminal board G according to diagrams.
- Connect phase and earth wires to terminal board G.
- Strain the feeder cable and secure it with clamp E (using screw D).
- Close cover C and secure with screw A.
Feeder Cable Section: Type H05VV-F or H05V2V2-F or H05RR-F. For 220-240 V, use 3 x 2.5 mm². For 380-415 V 2N, use 4 x 2.5 mm².
A diversity factor may be applied to the total load by a qualified person.
