Two new compact 18 V cordless sanders from FLEX
Key Features:
- ✔️ Lightweight, compact and ergonomic for comfortable working
- ✔️ Innovative inline design with optimised battery and extractor position
- ✔️ Powerful, no-maintenance brushless motors for maximum efficiency and durability
Steinheim, September 2025 – Professional tool manufacturer FLEX is now launching two new cordless sanders on the market: the ORE 3-150 18-EC with 3 mm stroke and the ORE 5-150 18-EC with 5 mm stroke. The two new models impress with the best possible handling thanks to their extremely compact construction, low vibrations and innovative inline design, in which the battery and extractor unit are positioned perfectly ergonomically in one line. The new FLEXibility currently offers the best price-performance ratio in its class on the market.
The Right Model for Every Requirement
FLEX customers can choose between these two specialists depending on the intended use: Be it the random-orbital sander with 3 mm stroke for fine sanding work such as intermediate and filler sanding, or the 5 mm stroke for a higher removal rate when sanding wood, plaster or metal.
The new FLEX ORE 150 18-EC cordless sanders are ideal for sanding painted surfaces, wood, plaster, fillers, and also for use on metal. The devices really come into their own on sensitive surfaces such as painted wood or in the automotive sector. They are also ideal for filler sanding, lacquer sanding, and processing extreme softwoods.
Flexible Working Options
The electronics of the two new models offer variable speed in four stages to suit the material you are working with, constant speed control by means of a tachogenerator, and soft start.
These versatile and sophisticated features make the new FLEX ORE 150 18-EC cordless sanders ideal for a wide range of applications – from drywall construction and painting to carpentry and the automotive sector. Whether sanding plasterboard surfaces, processing wooden surfaces, or sanding painted car body parts, the devices offer precise, material-appropriate results and maximum efficiency in all areas.
Tool Name Explanation
The tool names explained: ORE stands for "Orbital Random Electronics", followed by the stroke (3 mm or 5 mm) and the disc size (150 mm), supplemented by "18-EC" for the 18 volt battery technology with brushless motor.
Professional Ergonomics Thanks to Compact Manageability
With the ORE models, FLEX offers particularly lightweight and ergonomically optimised 18 V cordless one-handed sanders. Thanks to their compact size and light weight, both devices are ideal for overhead work. The battery positioning close to the centre of gravity also ensures optimum balance and makes guidance considerably easier. The specially balanced design and the ergonomically designed handle cap with soft grip inlay ensure that work is easy on the joints, low-vibration, and therefore fatigue-free.
In addition, the slightly inclined carrier plate supports greater dimensional stability. The bevelled plate geometry offers effective edge protection and enables precise working even in difficult positions. FLEX Product Manager Ralf Paertmann emphasises: "With the tool's minimal height, you are close to the surface, which brings enormous advantages, especially for upright surfaces."
Dust-Free and Effective for Perfect Work Results
Thanks to its precise hole arrangement and hook-and-loop fastening, the FLEX hook-and-loop multi-hole pad ensures optimum fastening of the abrasive, giving an even, clean sanding pattern. The hook-and-loop multi-hole plate ensures excellent dust extraction and is suitable for all standard abrasives.
The resulting sanding dust is extracted efficiently and completely, either via the extraction connection with replaceable adapter or via the integrated dust collection bag. A dust-tight rubber seal additionally protects the internal components.
Long-Life Disc Brake System
Another highlight is the long-life disc brake system, which prevents the sanding disc from overrunning and thus avoids sanding marks. Expensive corrective finishing is now a thing of the past.
Powerful No-Maintenance Brushless Motors
The new FLEX 18 V cordless sanders ORE 150 18-EC are equipped with state-of-the-art brushless EC motors, which are characterised by particularly high efficiency, a long service life, and low vibrations. They offer up to 30 percent more power and up to ten times longer service life compared to conventional brush motors. This technology means that performance remains consistently high even during long periods of use.
Longer Run Times Thanks to FLEX Cordless Technology
The FLEX 18 V cordless sanders are compatible with both 2.5 Ah and 5.0 Ah batteries. The proven Therma-Tech™ system significantly extends the service life of the batteries, while the battery status display always provides information on the current charge status. FLEX currently offers the best 18-volt battery range on the market – including the fastest charging technology.
FLEX Safety Features
All new FLEX cordless sanders have an E-signal switch with quick-stop function and intelligent PCB monitoring for overload protection and constant speed. This not only maximises safety during operation but also significantly extends the service life of the appliances.
Availability and Information
The FLEX 18 V cordless sander ORE 150 18-EC will be available from September. As the above performance data shows, this means that they currently offer the best price-performance ratio on the market for professional 18 V cordless sanders.
