Introduction
An image shows a wooden spool wound with blue heating cable. Logos indicate KIWA certification for EN ISO/IEC 17020 and a KIWA certification mark with the number 1913, suggesting compliance with standards. The Ebeco F-10 is a self-regulating heating cable designed for frost protection of pipes and hoses, suitable for both internal and external installation.
Due to its self-regulating construction, the heating cable can be cut to the required length and crossed over itself without the risk of overheating. The cable automatically adjusts its power output based on the ambient temperature and installation method. It always emits power, ensuring a heightened water temperature. For optimal energy efficiency, it is recommended to control the heating cable with a thermostat (e.g., E 85 816 10).
The F-10 cable is meter-marked and approved for drinking water applications, including its accessories.
Use Areas
The Ebeco F-10 heating cable is primarily intended for frost protection of water and wastewater pipes, as well as hoses. It can be installed both externally on the pipe surface and internally within the pipe.
Technical Specifications

External Installation | 100 m / 115.5 m |
Internal Installation | 61.5 m / 89.5 m |
Dimensioning and Performance
When installed internally, the F-10 cable can protect a 32 mm pipe with 20 mm insulation down to -30 °C. For external installation under the same conditions, the cable provides frost protection down to -20 °C.
For applications requiring higher heat output or for larger pipe dimensions, the cable can be coiled around the pipe, installed in parallel (double), or a thicker layer of insulation can be applied.
A diagram illustrates the connection of the heating cable to a power source and thermostat, showing the cable running along a pipe. Another diagram shows the heating cable coiled around a pipe, with insulation applied over the cable and pipe.
Installation Notes
For internal installations, it is necessary to use the E 89 604 10 completion kit for internal mounting (or equivalent like SSTL 81 761 86 in Finnish documentation). The cable is marked with length indicators.
Ensure that joints and connection boxes are placed in locations protected from water ingress.
The installation should be documented with a sketch or drawing showing cable lengths, splice locations, and power connections.
Test Protocol
The heating cables must be connected for at least 5 minutes before current measurement. Note that the current strength will vary with temperature due to the self-regulating nature of the cables. The entire heating cable installation must be documented with a sketch or drawing detailing cable lengths, splice locations, and power feeds.
A table with columns for Fuse number, Cable number, Cable length (m), Insulation Resistance (MΩ, minimum 10 MΩ), and Current (A) is provided for recording test results.
Fuse nr | Cable nr | Cable length (m) | Insulation Resistance (MΩ) min 10 MΩ | Current (A) |
