Introducing your new Trane® Link system.* Communicating technology enabling remote system monitoring and peace of mind.
This guide will introduce you to many of the features of your new Trane Link system.
To enjoy the full benefits of your system, it should be connected to a Trane Home account.

Simplified Scheduling
Log into the Trane Home website. Simply point and click and your customized schedule is set straight away.
Runtime History
Keep track of your system by downloading the cooling and heating system runtime history from Trane Home.
Diagnostics
With your approval, Diagnostics allows your local dealer to remotely monitor your home's heating and cooling system using real-time performance data, ensuring you receive the highest possible level of Customer Service from Trane and your Trane Dealer. Ask your dealer about Diagnostics.
Home Screen
The Home Screen displays the current indoor temperature, system mode, fan mode, schedule mode, air effects mode, date/time, network status, cooling mode set point, desired set point, heating mode set point, system status, wireless sensor status, ventilation status, dehumidifying status, and menu/back, schedule status, and emergency heating status.
Key elements:
- Date/Time: Appears across the banner.
- System Mode: Indicates if the system is in Heating, Cooling, or Off mode.
- Fan Mode: Shows if the fan is set to Auto or On.
- Schedule Mode: Indicates if a schedule is active.
- Air Effects Mode: Displays the current air effects setting (e.g., Allergy).
- Current Indoor Temperature: The prominently displayed current temperature.
- System Idle/Holding Permanently: Indicates the system's current operational status.
- Cooling Mode Set Point: The target temperature for cooling.
- Desired Set Point: The overall desired temperature.
- Heating Mode Set Point: The target temperature for heating.
- System Status: Indicates the current operational status of the system.
- Wireless Sensor Status: Shows the connection status of wireless sensors.
- Ventilation Status: Indicates if ventilation is active.
- Dehumidifying Status: Indicates if dehumidifying is active.
- Alerts/Notifications: Appear across the banner for system alerts.
- Network Status: Shows the status of the network connection.
- Menu/Back: Accesses the main menu or returns to the previous screen.
- Schedule Status: Indicates the status of the active schedule.
- Emergency Heating: Indicates if emergency heating is active.
Menu
The Menu provides access to various settings and features:
- Settings: Access system settings.
- Schedules: Configure heating and cooling schedules.
- Weather: View local weather and 5-day forecast.
- Humidity: Adjust humidity settings.
- Screen Settings: Customize display brightness, backlight, screen saver, and color themes.
- Thermostat: Adjust thermostat settings like temperature scale, setpoint deadband, and indoor sensor calibration.
- 1-Touch Presets: Set and activate predefined temperature settings for different periods (Home, Away, Sleep).
- Smart Home: Manage Z-Wave devices and network settings.
- Service: Access service-related information and diagnostics.
- System Info: View system alerts, notifications, and general system information.
Settings
The Settings menu allows you to configure:
- Date & Time: Manually set the date and time, or sync with Trane Home.
- Network: Connect to a Wi-Fi network, access advanced setup, network properties, and diagnostics.
- Wireless Tech Access: Enable or disable wireless access for technicians. Options include 'On' (always enabled), 'Temporary Access' (enabled for 24 hours), and 'Off' (disabled).
- Reboot: Restart the thermostat and all communicating equipment on the system.
Wireless Technician Access
This feature allows technicians to wirelessly connect to the communicating equipment on your system. You can choose to keep wireless access 'On' (always enabled), enable 'Temporary Access' for 24 hours, or turn it 'Off'.
Thermostat Settings
Temperature Scale
Select the unit for temperature display (°F or °C). This affects the temperature display throughout the interface and scheduling.
Setpoint Deadband
The deadband is the temperature range separating heating and cooling setpoints. The heating or cooling system will not operate when the indoor temperature is within this deadband.
Indoor Sensor Calibration
Indoor sensor calibration settings are available but may be disabled if the thermostat is not configured as an indoor sensor. Contact your dealer for assistance.
Screen Settings
Display
Adjust the display settings, including brightness, backlight timeout, screen saver, and color themes.
- Brightness: Adjusts the screen intensity during user interaction.
- Backlight Timeout: Sets how long the screen remains at active brightness after the last touch.
- Screen Saver: Configures the screen to display nothing until touched.
- Color Themes: Select from various color themes for the display.
Access Restrictions
Restrict access to thermostat functionality with different levels: None, Low, Medium, and High. Applying a restriction locks the screen after one minute of inactivity. Restrictions can be temporarily disabled by holding the Menu button for 5 seconds.
Weather
The weather feature requires registration with Trane Home.
- Current Weather: View your local weather conditions.
- 5-day Forecast: See the weather forecast for the next five days.
- Postal Code: Set or change the weather location by entering your zip code or postal code.
Indoor Humidity
Select the indoor humidity target for cooling and heating. Frost settings may override the target humidity when heating is running.
System Info
View system information, including:
- Alerts: Displays active system alerts. Contact your dealer for more details.
- Notifications: Shows system notifications like air filter reminders, service alerts, and Trane Home registration reminders.
- About: Provides information about all communicating equipment on the system, including model numbers, serial numbers, software versions, and installation dates.
- System Name: Assign a custom name to your system for easier identification.
1-Touch Presets
1-Touch Presets allow you to quickly set predetermined heating and cooling setpoints for Home, Away, and Sleep periods. These presets are not available when Scheduling is enabled.
Configuring 1-Touch Presets:
- To change the Cooling Set Point, press the COOLING SET POINT area and use the UP/DOWN Arrows to adjust.
- To change the Heating Set Point, press the HEATING SET POINT area and use the UP/DOWN Arrows to adjust.
- Repeat for Home and Sleep settings.
- Press DONE, then HOME to return to the Home Screen.
Note: The Away/Home/Sleep presets can only be activated when Scheduling is disabled.
Scheduling
The UX360 Thermostat can adjust temperature settings throughout the day based on a programmable schedule. Each day can have up to four periods with unique temperature settings.
Important: Scheduling must be enabled to define a schedule. Navigate to MENU > SCHEDULES to verify if scheduling is enabled. If not, press the ENABLE SCHEDULE button.
Changing the Schedule
You can change temperature settings, period start/stop times, and rename periods. Use the UP/DOWN arrows to scroll through days and adjust settings.
- Add a period: Select ADD PERIOD and press the green circle to insert a new period. Name the period or create a custom name.
- Delete a period: Select DELETE PERIOD and press the trash can icon for the period(s) to delete. Press DONE to confirm.
Network Connection
Connect your Trane Link system to your home internet for remote and diagnostic access.
- Turn Wireless to ON and select Connect to WiFi Network.
- Select your network from the list of Available Networks.
- Enter the network password and select CONNECT.
Mobile App Registration
Control your home climate system via the Trane Home mobile app or website (www.tranehome.com).
- Download the Trane Home app from the Google Play™ Store or App Store®.
- Launch the app. If you have an account, log in and select CONNECT NEW DEVICE. If not, select SIGN UP NOW to create an account.
- From the mobile app Dashboard, select the Menu icon, then select CONNECT NEW DEVICE.
- Choose a Device: Select 'System Controller'.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to enroll your thermostat by entering the generated 5-digit code on the thermostat.
- Accept the License Agreement and record the generated Pin Code.
- Enter the Pin Code on the thermostat and select NEXT.
- Registration is successful when you see the confirmation message. Select DONE.
Adding/Removing Devices
Add or remove Z-Wave® Devices through the Smart Home menu.
Adding Z-Wave Devices
- From the HOME Screen, select MENU, then Smart Home.
- Select ADD DEVICE and follow the device manufacturer's instructions for enabling learn mode.
- If prompted, enter the 5-digit DSK PIN Code for the device and press ACCEPT.
Removing Z-Wave Devices
- From the HOME Screen, press MENU, then select Trane Home.
- Select REMOVE DEVICE and follow the manufacturer's instructions for enabling learn mode.
Advanced Z-Wave Settings
Access advanced settings for Z-Wave functions, including unregistering the bridge from Trane Home or factory resetting it.
- Unregister: Removes the bridge from Trane Home.
- Factory Reset: Resets all Z-Wave information and removes all devices from the bridge.
- Bridge Information: Provides details about the bridge's role in the network.
- Learn: Adds the bridge to an existing network or copies a Z-Wave network to the bridge.
Update Network
Select UPDATE NETWORK to update your bridge's network. This process can take up to 15 minutes.
Other Features
Automatic Software Updates
An internet connection to the SC360 System Controller is required for automatic software updates. All communicating equipment, including the UX360, SC360, and indoor/outdoor units, will be upgraded.
