NIU KQi300-SERIES Electric Scooter User Manual
Introduction & Welcome
Thank you for choosing the NIU electric scooter. This scooter is a comfortable and high-performance mode of transportation, featuring front hydraulic suspension, 10.5-inch big tires, and front and rear turn signals, providing a safe and smooth riding experience.
Safety First
Riding Requirements
When riding, it is mandatory to wear a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads to minimize the risk of injury. Ensure you are between 14 and 60 years old and between 120-200 cm in height.
General Safety Warnings
- Follow local regulations. Do not ride on highways or sidewalks.
- Do not ride on stairs or jump over obstacles.
- Do not ride indoors.
- Do not carry any passengers, including children.
- Do not ride in water deeper than 2cm (1 inch).
- Always keep both hands on the handlebar when riding.
- Do not make large steering adjustments during high-speed riding.
- Avoid obstacles while riding. Turn on the headlights when riding in the dark.
- Do not hang heavy objects on the handlebar as it will affect the scooter's stability.
- Do not touch the disc brake after riding, as it may be hot.
- Please avoid riding in the rain. Braking distance will be extended in wet weather, so ride carefully.
- Do not pass at high speed when encountering uneven road surfaces or speed bumps.
- Do not twist the throttle while walking alongside the scooter.
- Do not ride the scooter with only one hand or one foot.
- Do not accelerate downhill.
Packing List
Your NIU KQi300-SERIES package should contain the following items:
- Battery Charger
- Hexagon Wrench
- M5 Screw x7 (1 spare)
- Extended Nozzle Adapter

Assembly
Step 01: Secure Folding Mechanism
Securely fasten the folding mechanism. Take care to prevent wire pinching.
Step 02: Install Handlebar
Insert the handlebar into the stem, making sure that the headlight is facing forward.
Step 03: Tighten Screws
Install the six screws with the hexagon wrench. Recommended torque is 4-5 N-m.
Step 04: Connect to Power
Open the charging port cover, connect the scooter to a power outlet using the power supply (included), and activate the battery.
Activation
The scooter's speed is limited to 15km/h (9.3mph) by default. To remove this speed restriction, activate the NIU App or ride the scooter for 200 meters (1/8 mile).
App Connection and Usage
Step 01: Download and Register
Scan the QR code to download the NIU app and register or log in.
Step 02: Pair Scooter
Click your scooter icon in the NIU app, then follow the instructions to pair the scooter.
Step 03: Power On
Press the power button to turn on the scooter. The Bluetooth indicator will start flashing.
Step 04: Find Your Scooter
In the NIU app, click "Device Binding" and then find your scooter at the bottom of the screen.
Power On/Off
Press the power button to turn on the scooter. Hold the power button to turn it off. If the scooter is connected to the app, you can also use the app button to power on/off.
Riding Instructions
Before Riding
Before riding, check the battery level, tire pressure, and ensure the folding mechanism is securely locked.
Starting to Ride
- Place one foot on the deck and use the other foot to propel yourself forward to begin riding.
- Maintain a stable stance with both feet on the deck. Twist the throttle to accelerate. Note: The motor will only engage once the gliding speed reaches 4km/h (2.5mph).
Decelerating and Turning
- Decelerate by releasing the throttle and engaging the brakes.
- To turn, shift your body and gently steer the handlebars. Be mindful of road conditions and leave enough space for turning.
- When braking abruptly, there is a risk of serious danger or injury. It is important to maintain a moderate speed and watch out for potential hazards.
Charging Instructions
Charging Process
- Open the charging port cover.
- Insert the charging plug and connect it to the power socket.
- When the scooter is fully charged, the indicator on the charger will switch from red to green.
- Close the charging port cover once charging is complete.
Charging Warnings
- Do not charge when the charging port, charger, or power socket is wet.
- Only use the original charger provided by NIU for charging. Do not use any other type of chargers.
- Do not charge or continue using the battery if it is damaged or flooded.
- Close the charging port cover when not charging.
- Do not charge outdoors.
- Do not ride while charging.
Folding and Carrying
Folding the Scooter
- Lift the safety latch and open the folding lever. Then, pull the stem to fold.
- Align the hook and the fender buckle, then push down to lock.
Carrying the Scooter
After folding, hold the handlebar stem with either one hand or both hands to carry.
Unfolding the Scooter
- Press the rear buckle to unlock and unfold the stem.
- Lock the folding lever.
Parking Instructions
After riding the scooter, please unfold the kickstand to park it. Before riding the scooter, please fold the kickstand.
