SKÄRANDE Knife Sharpener

Keeping Your Knives in Excellent Condition
To maintain your knife in excellent condition, sharpen it at regular intervals. For ordinary household use, sharpening once a week is recommended. If a knife becomes very blunt due to prolonged use or carelessness, or if the cutting edge is damaged, professional sharpening may be required to restore its edge.
Good to Know
The SKÄRANDE knife sharpener is suitable for all knives, regardless of the steel quality. It features three different slots for sharpening: fine, medium, and coarse.
- To maintain an already sharp edge, use the "fine sharpening" slot (slot number 3).
- If the edge is blunt and needs restoration, it is recommended to use all three steps.
How to Use the Knife Sharpener
- Open the cover by pushing the clip located underneath the sharpener.
- Fill the container with water. The water is essential to cool the knife blade and ensure it glides smoothly through the slots. The container must be filled with water every time the sharpener is used.
- Start by placing the knife in the first slot. Gently pull the knife back and forth. Avoid applying excessive pressure, as this can damage the internal wheels.
- Move the knife to the second slot and repeat the procedure.
- Finally, place the knife in the third slot to fine-tune the edge.
- Pull the knife through each slot approximately 15-20 times. The number of strokes needed will vary depending on the knife's material and condition.
- If the knife is still not sharp enough after the initial passes, start again from the first slot and repeat all three steps.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean the sharpener by running it under cold water. After sharpening, the knife must be cleaned before use.
