Install CPU & Fan
Important Notes:
- Ensure motherboard compatibility with the CPU.
- Always unplug the power cord before installation/removal to prevent damage.
- Retain the CPU protective cap after installation.
- Do not power on without a CPU cooler installed to prevent overheating.
- Ensure a tight seal between the CPU heatsink and CPU.
- Apply thermal paste evenly between the CPU and heatsink for better heat dissipation.
- Protect CPU socket pins with the plastic cap when the CPU is not installed.
- Align the CPU and socket pins, then lower the locking lever to secure the CPU.
- Do not force the CPU into the socket if the locking lever is not lifted.
- Connect the CPU heatsink's 4-pin fan connector to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.
Installation Steps:
- Lift the CPU socket retention lever.
- Align the CPU triangle mark with the socket triangle mark and gently place the CPU into the socket.
- Lower the retention lever to secure the CPU.
- Place the CPU cooler onto the CPU.
- Secure the CPU cooler using the provided mounting mechanism.
- Connect the CPU cooler fan cable to the CPU_FAN header.
Install Memory
The motherboard features 2 DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB of memory.
Installation Steps:
- Gently pull the latches on both sides of the memory slot outwards.
- Align the notch on the memory module with the notch in the memory slot and insert the memory module.
- Push down on both ends of the memory module until the latches click into place, securing the memory.
Important Notes:
- Ensure motherboard compatibility with the memory. Using memory modules of the same capacity, brand, speed, and chips is recommended for optimal performance.
- Always turn off the computer and unplug the power cord before installing memory.
- Memory modules have a keyed design; they can only be installed in one orientation.
- Dual Channel mode requires two memory modules to be installed.
- Server memory and desktop memory cannot be used together.
Install Expansion Card
The motherboard provides a PCI Express 5.0 X16 expansion slot for graphics cards or other expansion cards.
Installation Steps:
- Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord.
- Open the retention clip on the PCIe slot.
- Align the expansion card with the PCIe slot and press down firmly until it is fully seated.
- Secure the expansion card with the case bracket.
Important Notes:
- Always turn off the power supply and unplug the power cord before installing or removing expansion cards to prevent hardware damage.
- Improper installation may cause short circuits.
Back Panel Connectors
The back panel provides various ports for connecting external devices:
- VGA Port: Supports analog video signal transmission.
- DP Port: Supports higher definition video output with higher image quality and bandwidth.
- HDMI Port: Supports 4K and 1080p resolutions for connecting HDMI-supported monitors.
- USB 2.0 Port: Supports USB 2.0 specification for connecting USB devices.
- USB 3.2 Port: Supports USB 3.2 specification with speeds up to 10Gbps, backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 3.0.
- 2.5GbE LAN Port: Provides internet connection at up to 2.5 Gbps.
- WIFI 6: Onboard Intel Wi-Fi 6 wireless network card and Bluetooth 5.2 support.
- Audio Ports: Line-in, Line-out, and Mic-in jacks.
LAN Port LED Status:
Link/Activity LED Status | Description | Speed LED Status | Description |
Off | No link | Off | 10 Mbps connection |
Yellow (Solid) | Linked | Green | 100/1000 Mbps connection |
Yellow (Blinking) | Data activity | Orange | 2.5 Gbps connection |
Internal Connectors
- F_PANEL1 Connector: Connects front panel power switch, reset switch, HDD LED, and power LED. Ensure correct pin connections to avoid damage.
- SATA 3.0 Connectors (4): SATA 6Gb/s interface ports for connecting SATA storage devices.
- M.2 Slot: Supports NVME M.2 SSDs. Insert the M.2 SSD at a 30-degree angle and secure with the screw.
- JCMOS1 (CMOS Discharge): Used to clear CMOS settings. Ensure the computer is off before use. The default state covers pins 1 and 2. To discharge, move the jumper to cover pins 2 and 3 for about 3 minutes, then return it to the default state.
- JCOM1 (Serial Port Connector): Provides a serial port via an optional cable. Pinout details are provided.
- ATXPWR1, JATXPWR1 (Power Connectors): 24-pin and 8-pin ATX power connectors for supplying power to the motherboard. A power supply of at least 500W is recommended.
- CPU_FAN1, SYS_FAN1 (Fan Connectors): Connect CPU cooler and system fans. CPU_FAN (4-pin) supports PWM speed control. SYS_FAN (3-pin) does not support PWM.
- JUSB2 (USB 2.0 Connectors): Headers for front panel USB 2.0 ports.
- FUSB3 (USB 3.0 Connector): Header for front panel USB 3.0 ports, compatible with USB 2.0.
BIOS Setup
The BIOS (Basic Input and Output System) stores hardware parameters and manages the initial startup process (POST). The BIOS Setup program allows modification of basic system configurations.
Important Notes on BIOS:
- Flashing the BIOS can be risky; proceed with caution and only if necessary.
- Altering default BIOS settings may lead to system instability or failure to boot.
- BIOS items are subject to updates; refer to the latest documentation for specific details.
Entering BIOS Setup
When the computer starts, press the Delete key repeatedly immediately after the power-on self-test (POST) begins to enter the BIOS setup menu. If the prompt disappears, restart the computer.
Reset BIOS
To restore default BIOS settings:
- Load optimized defaults within the BIOS setup (usually by pressing F6).
- Short the Clear CMOS jumper (JBAT) on the motherboard. Ensure the computer is powered off before clearing CMOS data.
