RC-SDA4+E4P™ Application Guide

System Overview

This document outlines the application of the Sound Control Technologies (SCT) RC-SDA4+E4P™ system, designed for integrating Poly video conferencing cameras and other AV equipment. The system facilitates robust signal transmission and control.

The system is compatible with Poly devices such as the Poly EagleEye IV camera and Poly RPG300, RPG500, RPG700, and G7500 video systems.

Key Components and Connectivity

The RC-SDA4+E4P™ system utilizes several specialized components to achieve its functionality:

Poly EagleEye IV Camera Integration

The Poly EagleEye IV camera connects to the RC4-CE™ Camera End module using the RCC-C030-0.4M Mini-HDCI Y Cable. This cable provides both HDCI and HDMI connections.

RC4-CE™ Camera End Module

The RC4-CE™ module acts as the camera interface. It receives the connection from the Poly EagleEye IV camera. It features ports for VISCA Loop, Control, Power, and Video Input. The RC4-CE™ is designed to work with SCTLink™ cables.

RC-SDA4+HE™ Main Unit

The RC-SDA4+HE™ is the central processing and distribution unit. It connects to the RC4-CE™ Camera End via an SCTLink™ Cable, which carries Power, Control, and Video signals. This SCTLink™ cable must be a single, point-to-point CAT cable without couplers or interconnections.

The RC-SDA4+HE™ unit interfaces with Poly RPG300, RPG500, RPG700, and G7500 devices. It also connects to a Host PC using the RCC-M005-1.0M USB-A to USB-C cable and can interface with other devices via the RCC-M003-1.0M USB-A to USB-A cable.

Power for the RC-SDA4+HE™ is supplied by the WPS-12 30VDC Power Supply, which operates on 100-240V AC at 47-63Hz.

Available ports on the RC-SDA4+HE™ include VISCA Loop, Control, G RX TX, HDMI Output 1, HDMI Output 2, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 Unified, Audio In, and Audio Out.

3rd Party RS232 Controller Connection

A 3rd Party RS232 Controller can be integrated into the system by connecting it to the RC-SDA4+HE™ unit using the RCC-H030-1.0M HDCI Y Cable, which supports HDMI and DB9 connections.

SCTLink™ Cable Specifications

The SCTLink™ cable is crucial for system connectivity, transmitting Power, Control, and Video signals. It requires specific specifications:

Cable Type: Integrator-Supplied CAT5e or CAT6 STP/UTP cable.
Wiring Standard: Must adhere to T568A or T568B standards.
Recommended Length: Between 10 meters and 100 meters.

RJ45 Pinout Standards

Proper RJ45 termination is essential for the SCTLink™ cable. The following pinout standards are applicable:

T568A Pinout

1: White/Orange, 2: Orange, 3: White/Green, 4: Blue, 5: White/Blue, 6: Green, 7: White/Brown, 8: Brown

T568B Pinout

1: White/Green, 2: Green, 3: White/Orange, 4: Blue, 5: White/Blue, 6: Orange, 7: White/Brown, 8: Brown
