This manual provides instructions for setting up and using your Vodafone Ultra Hub 7 Cable.

1.0 General Information about the Ultra Hub 7
This chapter provides an overview of the Ultra Hub 7's functions. Installation begins after this chapter.
1.1 Front View
The Front-LED indicates the status of the Ultra Hub 7.

*Check if the connection cable is correctly plugged in – into the Ultra Hub 7 and the wall socket. Restart your Ultra Hub 7.
If the Front-LED is still blinking red, call 0800 172 1212 for assistance.
1.2 Rear View
The LED on the Wi-Fi button indicates the WLAN status.

You have several options to switch off the WLAN:
- Press the Wi-Fi button on the Ultra Hub 7.
- Deactivate WLAN via the user interface.
- Deactivate it via the UltraConnect app.
- Activate the WLAN schedule in the UltraConnect app.
1.3 Underside
The product label on the underside of the Ultra Hub 7 contains the following information:
- Wi-Fi Name: The default network name (SSID) of the Ultra Hub 7 WLAN network.
- Wi-Fi Password: The default WLAN password of the Ultra Hub 7 WLAN network.
Information for accessing the Ultra Hub 7 user interface:
- The URL (Web UI Access) to enter in your browser.
- The password (Web UI Password) to enter on the login page.
The WLAN security settings and further information can also be found on the supplied Wi-Fi Card.
RESET Button
- Press and hold for at least 5 seconds to restart the Ultra Hub 7 and reset it to factory settings.
- Press and hold for less than 5 seconds to simply restart the Ultra Hub 7.
2.0 Setting up the Ultra Hub 7
Please use this manual for setup.
2.1 Connecting to Cable Internet
How to do it:
- Take a coaxial cable.
- Plug the coaxial cable with the red marking into the DATA connection of your cable socket or multimedia socket adapter.
- The other end goes into the red marked CABLE connection of your Ultra Hub 7.
2.2 Powering On
! Use only the power adapter supplied with the Ultra Hub 7 or one from an authorized dealer. Using other power sources is not permitted.
How to do it:
- Connect the power adapter plug to the power connection of the Ultra Hub 7.
- Plug the power adapter into a nearby socket.
- Turn on the Ultra Hub 7 by setting the power switch to I.
The Front-LED will start blinking blue and then light up solid white. Wait until the Telephone, Internet, and WLAN LEDs light up green. This can take up to 30 minutes. The Ultra Hub 7 is then ready to use.
2.3 Connecting Wired Devices
Requirements:
- Your network device (e.g., computer, game console) and the Ultra Hub 7 must have a free LAN (Ethernet) port.
- The network device must obtain the IP address automatically. This should be the default setting.
Ethernet Cable: A cable with yellow connectors is included. This is the Ethernet cable. You use it to connect a device in your local network, such as a computer or an Ethernet printer.
How to do it:
- Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports on the Ultra Hub 7.
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your network device.
- The device is now connected to the network.
2.4 Connecting Telephones
! Emergency calls are not possible if the internet connection is interrupted or the Ultra Hub 7 is switched off.
Connecting wired telephones:
Connect the wired telephone, fax machine, or phone to one of the TEL connections on the Ultra Hub 7.
3.0 WLAN
This chapter provides information on using the WLAN functions of the Ultra Hub 7.
Ultra Hub 7 WLAN
The Ultra Hub 7 has 2 WLAN access points:
- A 5 GHz WLAN access point up to Wi-Fi 7
- A 2.4 GHz WLAN access point up to Wi-Fi 7
Through Band Steering and MLO (Multi-Link Operation) functions, these access points are displayed as a single WLAN name. This ensures your WLAN device is always connected to the access point that offers the best performance.
3.1 Connecting to WLAN
You have the following options:
- Connect your device via WPS to the Ultra Hub 7. (See section 3.1.1 on page 17)
- Connect your device manually. (See section 3.1.2 on page 19)
- Scan the QR code on the Wi-Fi Card or on the back of the Ultra Hub 7 with your device. (See section 3.1.3 on page 19)
3.1.1 Connecting to WLAN via WPS
WPS: Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) allows you to securely and easily connect new WLAN devices to your local network. You do not need to enter WLAN settings - network name, WLAN key, encryption type. Press the WPS button on your WLAN device and on the Ultra Hub 7 to connect both devices. This method is also known as WPS Push Button Configuration (PBC).
Requirements:
- Your WLAN device must support WPS. Check the manual for your WLAN device.
i Operating systems that support WPS internally:
- Windows supports WPS up to and including Windows 10.
- Android supports WPS up to and including Android 9 (Pie).
- Mac OS X and iOS do not support WPS.
The Ultra Hub 7 uses the standard WPA2 and WPA3 encryption. The WPS function must be activated on the Ultra Hub 7, which is the default setting.
Connecting a WLAN device via WPS:
! Before you start: Check how to start WPS on your WLAN device. Further information can be found in the manual for your WLAN device.
How to do it:
- Press the WPS button on the Ultra Hub 7: The Ultra Hub 7 will now search for a WLAN device in WPS-PBC mode. You have 2 minutes to start WPS on the WLAN device.
- Start WPS-PBC on your WLAN device. You may need to do the following: Press the WPS button on your WLAN device. Start WPS (PBC) via the user interface of your WLAN device. Open the list of available networks and select the network name (WLAN name) that is on the product label.
- The Ultra Hub 7 will transfer the WLAN settings to the WLAN device.
- If successful, the WLAN device will indicate that it is now connected to the WLAN.

3.1.2 Manually Connecting to WLAN
How to do it:
You need the current WLAN settings: WLAN name and WLAN password. Are you using the default WLAN settings of the Ultra Hub 7? Then enter the WLAN settings from the product label or the Wi-Fi Card.
i The current WLAN settings can also be found on the Ultra Hub 7 user interface. Further information can be found under "Forgot WLAN password?" on page 31.
- Press the WPS button on the Ultra Hub 7: The Ultra Hub 7 will now search for a WLAN device in WPS-PBC mode. You have 2 minutes to start WPS on the WLAN device.
- Start WPS-PBC on your WLAN device. You may need to do the following: Press the WPS button on your WLAN device. Start WPS (PBC) via the user interface of your WLAN device. Open the list of available networks and select the network name (WLAN name) that is on the product label.
- The Ultra Hub 7 will transfer the WLAN settings to the WLAN device.
- If successful, the WLAN device will indicate that it is now connected to the WLAN.
3.1.3 Connecting to WLAN via QR Code on the Wi-Fi Card
How to do it:
- Look at the Wi-Fi Card with the QR code. You can also find this on the back of the Ultra Hub 7.
- Scan the QR code with your smartphone. This will transfer the WLAN settings to your device.
Vodafone Ultra Hub 7 Wi-Fi Card
To connect your devices to your WLAN, scan the QR code or use the following Wi-Fi credentials on your chosen device.
WLAN Name / Wi-Fi Name: Vodafone-XXXX
WLAN Password / Wi-Fi Password: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
To access your Ultra Hub's web interface, enter the following address into your browser. Please note you must be connected to your Ultra Hub.
User Interface / Web UI Access: http://192.168.0.1
Router Password / Web UI Password: XXXXXXXXXXXX
3.2 Adding a WLAN Guest Network
With the Ultra Hub 7, you can set up a guest WLAN. This is completely separate from your private home network. Devices connected to the guest WLAN can only access the internet, but not other devices on your home network.
How to do it:
- Go to the Ultra Hub 7 user interface. (See section "Accessing the Ultra Hub 7 Web Interface via the Local Network" on page 21)
- Click on WLAN. The General page opens.
- Select the option Activate Guest WLAN.
- Under Configuration, you will find the Guest WLAN section. Here you can change your guest WLAN settings. Enter a WLAN name. And click Change Password to enter a WLAN password.
! The WLAN password must be between 8 and 63 characters long and contain both uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as at least one number.
- Click Apply.
- Your WLAN guest network is now ready.
4.0 Ultra Hub 7 User Interface
You can configure the Ultra Hub 7 via the user interface in your browser.
4.1 Structure of the User Interface
The user interface configures your Ultra Hub 7 in your browser.
Top Menu (Element A): Navigate through the main sections of the user interface here.
View Modes (Element B): You can choose between:
- Standard Mode: The most frequently used functions are displayed.
- Expert Mode: More complex functions are displayed.
- Log out to end your session.
- Change Password to change the password for logging into the user interface.
Language (Element C): You can change the language of the user interface in the top right corner.
Left Menu (Element D): Navigate through the Ultra Hub 7 user interface here. (See section 4.2 Menu Items on page 24)
Content Area (Element E): The content area displays the settings you can change.
4.2 Menu Items
The overview page is the start page of the Ultra Hub 7 user interface. Here you will find connected devices and services of your network, grouped by connection type.
Menu "Telephone"
Click on Telephone in the top menu for the following menu items:

Firewall | Turn the firewall of the Ultra Hub 7 on or off. We strongly recommend not deactivating the firewall. | All |
IPv6 Host Exposure | Allows you to connect external computers to your private network. Use host sharing to allow incoming connections to services for specific devices in your LAN. | All |
Device Blocking | Specify which devices should be blocked from the internet. The selected devices cannot establish a connection. Identify devices by their MAC address. You can manage up to 32 devices. | Expert |
DMZ | Allow a device in your network for all incoming and outgoing internet connections – for example, a computer. | Expert |
DynDNS | Specify a DNS hostname – for example, "myrouter.dyndns.org". This assigns your public IP address. This is the IP address that the Ultra Hub 7 uses for communication over the internet. | All |
Menu "WLAN"
Click on WLAN in the top menu for the following menu items:

Band Steering | Activate Band Steering for individual devices. With Band Steering, your router automatically decides which band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) to use for communication with which dual-band device. This integrates devices more efficiently into the WLAN. | Expert |
Menu "Settings"
Click on Settings in the top menu for the following menu items:

5.1 Troubleshooting General Problems with the Ultra Hub 7
No LED lights up - Ultra Hub 7 is not functioning
Check if:
- The Ultra Hub 7 is plugged into a socket.
- You are using the correct power adapter for the Ultra Hub 7.
The performance data of the Ultra Hub 7 is indicated on the type plate of the Ultra Hub 7. Only use the supplied power adapter.
- The Ultra Hub 7 is switched on using the toggle switch on the back.
- The status LEDs are activated.
! To check if the status LEDs are activated:
- Go to the Ultra Hub 7 user interface. (See section "Accessing the Ultra Hub 7 Web Interface via the Local Network" on page 21)
- In the top menu, click on Settings and then in the left menu on LED Settings.
- Check if the option Activate All LEDs is enabled.
- Click Apply.
User interface cannot be accessed
If you cannot access the Ultra Hub 7 via the user interface, you should reset the router. (See section "5.3 Resetting to Factory Settings" on page 35)
5.2 Troubleshooting Ethernet Connections
Forgot WLAN password?
If you have not changed the WLAN settings, the Ultra Hub 7 uses the default settings. You can find them here:
- On the product label on the Ultra Hub 7
- On the supplied Wi-Fi Card
If you have changed your WLAN settings, try these steps:
- Use a computer that is already connected to the WLAN.
i If no computer is connected to the WLAN yet, connect a computer via an Ethernet cable. (See section "2.3 Connecting Wired Devices" on page 13)
- Open the user interface. (See section "Accessing the Ultra Hub 7 User Interface via the Local Network" on page 21)
- In the top menu, click on WLAN. On the General page, in the Main WLAN section, you will find the WLAN password. To display the password, check the "Show characters" box.
5.3 Resetting to Factory Settings
Resetting to factory settings via the user interface
How to do it:
- Go to the Ultra Hub 7 user interface. (See section "Accessing the Ultra Hub 7 Web Interface via the Local Network" on page 21)
- In the top menu, click on Settings. Click on Restart.
- Under Factory Settings, click Reset and then Apply.
- You will receive a notification that your Ultra Hub 7 has been reset to factory settings. The Ultra Hub 7 will then restart automatically.
Resetting to factory settings via the RESET button
How to do it:
- Turn on the Ultra Hub 7.
- Press and hold the RESET button for at least 10 seconds.
- Then release it. The Front-LED will blink blue.
! If you press the Reset button for less than 5 seconds, the Ultra Hub 7 will simply restart.
- The Ultra Hub 7 will restart.
