IKEA VADHOLMA Kitchen Island: Assembly Guide & Safety Information

NEVER allow children to stand, climb, or hang on any drawers, doors, or shelves.

NEVER open more than one drawer at a time.

Place heaviest items in the lowest drawers.

⚠️ Serious or fatal crushing injuries can occur from furniture falling down. To prevent this furniture from falling down, it must be used with the wall attachment device(s) provided.

Screw(s) and plug(s) for the wall are not included. Assess the suitability of the wall to ensure that it will withstand the forces generated. Use screw(s) and plug(s) suitable for your walls and the intended load. If you are uncertain, seek professional advice.

Read and follow each step of the instruction carefully.

Tools and Hardware

The following tools and hardware are typically required for assembly:

Tools: [Screwdriver], [Hammer], [Tape Measure], [Drill], [Clamp], [Allen Key], [Wrench-like tool]

Hardware: Various screws (e.g., long bolts, short screws), dowels, cam locks, cam lock bolts, drawer slides, drawer handles, brackets for wall attachment, feet/wheels, and other small connectors.

Note: Wall-mounting screws and plugs are not included.

Assembly Guide

Step 1: Assemble the Main Frame

Connect the base panels and side panels using dowels and cam locks. Insert cam lock bolts and then tighten the cam locks with a screwdriver to secure the frame. Attach the lower and middle slatted shelves to the side panels using the provided hardware.

Step 2: Attach the Top Surface

Position the top surface onto the assembled frame. Secure it from underneath using the designated screws or cam lock system.

Step 3: Assemble the Drawer

Construct the drawer box by connecting its sides, bottom, and back panels. Attach the drawer front to the assembled drawer box. Install the drawer runners onto the sides of the drawer.

Step 4: Install Drawer Runners on Unit

Attach the corresponding drawer runner components to the inside of the main unit's frame, ensuring correct alignment and orientation.

Step 5: Attach Drawer Handle

Fix the drawer handle to the front of the assembled drawer using the provided screws.

Step 6: Insert the Drawer

Carefully slide the assembled drawer into the unit, aligning the runners. Push until you hear a 'Click!' indicating it is properly seated.

Step 7: Attach Feet or Wheels

Screw the adjustable feet or wheels into the base of the unit. Adjust the feet as needed to ensure the unit is level and stable.

Step 8: Secure Unit to Wall (Anti-Tip Safety)

This is a critical safety step to prevent tip-over accidents. Attach the provided wall anchoring bracket to the top rear of the unit. Then, using appropriate screws and plugs suitable for your wall type (not included), securely fasten the bracket to the wall. Consult a professional if unsure about wall mounting.
