Important Notes & Warnings

Worktop Preparation
Step 1: Preparation
Prepare the worktop for joining or cutting. Apply tape as shown in the diagram to guide the process.

Step 2: Cutting the Worktop
If cutting the worktop, use a circular saw. It is important to saw the worktop straight. If uncertain, contact your local specialized dealer.

Step 3: Applying Edgeband
If the worktop has to be cut, use contact adhesive to fix the edgeband to the cut end. Contact adhesive is not included.

Step 4: Trimming Edgeband
Trim excess edgeband using scissors or a utility knife for a neat finish.

Step 5: Smoothing Edgeband
Smooth the edgeband to ensure it is flush with the worktop surface.

Step 6: Further Edgeband Finishing
Continue smoothing the edgeband for a clean finish.

Mounting to Cabinets
The MÖCKLERYD worktop is designed to be mounted onto IKEA kitchen cabinets.
Maximum Dimensions:
- Max. 800 mm (31 1/2") overhang for certain cabinet configurations.
- Max. 250 mm (10") overhang for other configurations.
Installation Procedure:
For straight cabinet runs:
- Use IKEA's FIXA/FENSJÖ brackets (sold separately) for mounting.
- Drill pilot holes of Ø 3 mm (1/8") at a 10 mm (3/8") offset from the edge of the worktop.
- Secure the worktop to the cabinets using screws. Typically 12x screws are used in this step.
For L-shaped cabinet configurations:
- Use IKEA's FIXA/FENSJÖ brackets (sold separately).
- Drill pilot holes of Ø 3 mm (1/8") at a 10 mm (3/8") offset from the edge.
- Secure the worktop to the cabinets using screws. Quantities vary: 20x for initial placement, then 5x and 6x for further securing, and 3x and 6x for final securing.

Sealing and Protection
Step 7: Sealing Joints
To prevent liquids from penetrating the worktop, apply silicone sealant to the joints between worktops or at edges where necessary. Silicone sealant is not included.

Wipe off remaining sealant with soapy water. Stubborn stains can be removed with acetone within 20 minutes after application.
Step 8: Protection for Appliances
If installing appliances (e.g., cooktop, dishwasher) under the worktop, fit a diffusion barrier on the underside of the worktop above white goods. This provides extra protection against condensation and moisture.

Step 9: Sink and Appliance Cutouts
Diagrams illustrate the process for making cutouts for sinks or other appliances. Ensure precise measurements and proper sealing around cutouts.
