Technical Details
The BasicDIM Wireless solution utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), a state-of-the-art wireless technology found in modern smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches, making it a future-proof, low-power radio technology.
The underlying technology creates a mesh network, distributing functionality across nodes for high reliability. It supports over-the-air firmware updates for easy changes.
The BasicDIM Wireless control app serves as a primary user interface, commissioning tool, and remote gateway. It is compatible with iOS and Android devices and is free for all users, designed by UI experts for intuitive use by anyone, regardless of technical proficiency.
Interaction options include the app, traditional wall switches, and push buttons.
Restrictions and Limits
- Maximum spacing between luminaires: 4 meters
- Maximum spacing between luminaires and mobile devices: 15 meters
- Maximum nodes on one network: 127
- A node includes: Luminaires, apps, switches, repeaters, and sensors.
- App Compatibility: iPhone 4S or later, iPad 3 or later, Android 4.4 KitKat or later with full Bluetooth 4.0 support.
- Note: Metal ceilings and concrete casting surroundings may affect performance.
