INNCOM L510 LAMP CONTROLLER
The INNCOM L510 Lamp Controller provides dimming control for a wide range of floor and desk lamps. It functions as a dimmer that plugs directly into both the lamp and the wall socket. By dimming lights, the L510 contributes to energy savings and enables elegant lighting and mood control, especially when integrated with Honeywell's Integrated Room Automation System.
A common application for the L510 is enabling wireless remote control of table or floor lamps, allowing them to participate in lighting scenes or moods. The L510 can also be paired with a tabletop switch for convenient local control, making it easy to turn lamps on and off without needing to reach under the lampshade.
The L510 supports standard lightbulbs, eliminating the need for costly 3-way bulbs. It is available in models designed for dimmable CFL and LED bulbs, as well as models for incandescent and halogen lamps. Additionally, it can manage non-lamp plug-in loads, such as dimmable plug-in LED strips.

Compatibility/Function Compared to Replacement Part - L208
PARAMETER | SPECIFICATION |
---|---|
Is it a straight swap for the replacement? | NO |
Is any rewiring required? | Plug in* |
Is the new unit the same footprint? | NO |
Are the new units compatible with the replacement? | YES** |
Is any re-programming work required on the server side and rest of the hardware products in a same room? | NO |
* The L208 required a switch to be connected to the L208 in order to bind it to the required Room ID and RF Channel. The L510 features a built-in Bind switch and does not require a separate switch for binding.
** L510 Lamp Controller should be plugged into a Standard Outlet ONLY. It cannot be plugged into a GFCI outlet or an outlet powered from a GFCI breaker.
Loads smaller than 15 watts, when dimmed by an L510 Triac, may require lab testing. If the current becomes too low in the L510T, the triac might prematurely turn off, even with an incandescent bulb. For low wattage LED bulbs (<15W), a large flash may occur when the L510T initially turns on. This flash typically disappears with higher wattage bulbs or loads.

Wiring Diagrams
Diagram 1: L510 Controlling a Lamp Using Existing Manufacturer's Switch
This diagram illustrates the INNCOM L510 Lamp Controller managing a lamp that uses an existing manufacturer's switch for local control. The L510 module is connected between the lamp and the power outlet. The text indicates that the L510 is used for lighting control, and if the lamp is turned off by the original switch, the L510 cannot override it to turn it back on, and vice versa.
Diagram 2: L510 Controlling a Lamp Without Local Control, Using an INNCOM Wall Switch
This setup shows the L510 controlling a lamp where no local control is used, relying instead on an INNCOM wall switch. The diagram depicts the L510 module connected to the lamp and power. The associated text highlights that the application provides for lamp/light control within an INNCOM light scene, and that the manufacturer's switch should be removed or disabled if it is on the lamp.
Diagram 3: L510 Controlling a Lamp with Local Control by INNCOM (DS12 Push Button)
This diagram details the L510 controlling a lamp with local control provided by an INNCOM push button, specifically the DS12 model. The L510 module is shown connected to the lamp and power. The text specifies that the application enables the lamp to be part of an INNCOM light scene and that the manufacturer's switch should be removed or disabled.
Diagram 4: L510 Controlling a Lamp Without Local Control, Powering a Low Voltage Wall Switch in the Wall via a Wall Jack
This diagram illustrates a scenario where the L510 controls a lamp without direct local control, instead powering a low voltage wall switch installed within a wall via a wall jack. The L510 module is connected to the lamp and power. The text mentions that the manufacturer's switch should be removed or disabled if it is on the lamp, and that a DS12 or equivalent momentary switch can be wired to the L510 for local control.
