Overview

The Honeywell INNCOM E6 Smart Digital Thermostat is a versatile Direct Digital Control (DDC) device capable of managing various HVAC systems, including fan coil units, heat pumps, and packaged terminal air conditioners commonly found in hotel guestrooms.

As part of Honeywell's INNCOM Integrated Room Automation System, the E6 features an easy-to-read illuminated liquid crystal display and a compact design suitable for installation in standard British-sized electrical boxes.

The thermostat is designed for British single-gang electrical boxes. It incorporates an onboard radio frequency (RF) transceiver, a passive infrared (PIR) occupancy sensor, an optional humidity sensor, and an outdoor temperature display. A light sensor assists with occupancy detection, and RS-485 connectivity enables integration into a mesh network.

The E6 can operate as a standalone unit or be integrated into a centrally controlled network via the Honeywell INNCOM Integrated Room Automation System.

Applications

When used with an external control module, the E6 automatically adjusts fan speeds, valves, or compressor run times to maintain set temperatures. It can also work with a Guestroom Keycard Controller for guest-initiated energy conservation.

As a key component in an occupancy-based Energy Management System (EMS), it uses PIR motion detectors and wired/wireless door switches to determine guestroom occupancy. This allows for programmable temperature setbacks when a room is occupied but the guest is absent, leading to energy savings without compromising comfort.

When connected to a central Honeywell system, broader setback bands can be applied for un-rented rooms or during off-season hibernation periods, further enhancing energy savings.

The Honeywell INNCOM E6 Smart Digital Thermostat also functions as a signal repeater for other room devices with wireless transceivers or S5bus connectivity, such as Lamp Control Modules. It can monitor balcony doors, windows, minibars, and smoke detectors.
