Introduction
The NUX Mighty Bass 50BT is a versatile practice bass amplifier designed for bass players. It features a premium 6.5-inch speaker and is powered by a 50-watt Class D amplifier. Its compact and portable design makes it suitable for bedroom practice or small club performances via its DI out. The amplifier utilizes NUX's TSAC modeling technology for various amp models and essential effects, offering excellent playability and response. Impulse Response (IR) technology provides additional cabinet sound choices.
The amplifier also supports drum and bass practice with its drum function and a 60-second phrase loop. It includes Bluetooth audio streaming and a free companion app for control and editing, as well as USB connectivity for recording and firmware updates.

Control Panel
Front Panel Controls
The front panel features various controls for shaping your sound:
- INPUT JACK: Connect your bass guitar here using a 1/4" cable.
- CHANNEL SWITCH & INDICATOR: Press to cycle through 3 channels (CH1: Green, CH2: Orange, CH3: Red). Each channel can store preset parameters and block status.
- GAIN: Adjusts the input gain for the amplifier models.
- BASS: Controls the bass frequency level.
- MIDDLE: Controls the middle frequency level.
- MIDDLE FREQUENCY: Adjusts the frequency range for the middle control.
- TREBLE: Controls the treble frequency level.
- EFX INDICATOR: Press to engage the EFX block; the indicator light turns on when active.
- PARAMETER 1: Controls a parameter related to the selected EFX model.
- PARAMETER 2: Controls another parameter related to the selected EFX model.
- DECAY: Adjusts the length of the reverb effect.
- LEVEL: Controls the mix level of the reverb effect.
- MASTER: Adjusts the overall volume output to the power amp.
- LOOP INDICATOR: Indicates the status of the phrase loop function.
- BLUETOOTH INDICATOR: Indicates Bluetooth connection status.
- POWER INDICATOR: Lights up when the amplifier is turned on.
- PHONE OUT: 1/8" jack for connecting headphones for silent practice. The signal is the same as AMP OUT (affected by IR switch if toggled).
- AUX IN: 1/8" jack for connecting an MP3 player for playback.
Rear Panel Connections
The rear panel provides connectivity options:
- DC POWER JACK: Connect the included 28V DC power adapter here.
- USB PORT: For connecting to a computer for firmware updates, editing software, or recording.
- DI OUT: Balanced output for connecting to a PA system or audio interface.
- GROUND LIFT TOGGLE SWITCH: Use this switch to lift the ground connection if experiencing ground loop noise issues when connected to a PA system.
- IR TOGGLE SWITCH: Engages Cabinet Impulse Response (IR) signals for the DI OUT and AMP outputs independently.
- FOOT SWITCH JACK: Connects to an external footswitch (like the NUX NMP-2 Lite) to control Loop and Drum functions.
Operation Details
Power and Input
- POWER SWITCH: Toggle to turn the amplifier on or off.
- POWER INDICATOR: Illuminates when the amplifier is powered on.
- INPUT JACK: Connect your bass guitar using a standard 1/4" instrument cable.
Auxiliary Input and Headphones
- AUX IN: Connect an external audio source (e.g., MP3 player) to the 1/8" jack for playback.
- PHONE OUT: Connect headphones to the 1/8" jack for silent practice. The audio output mirrors the AMP OUT signal, potentially influenced by the IR toggle switch.
Channel Selection
- CHANNEL SWITCH & INDICATOR: Press the button to switch between three distinct channels (CH1, CH2, CH3). Each channel can store your custom settings and effect configurations. The indicator light shows the active channel's color (Green, Orange, or Red).
Tone Shaping Controls
- GAIN: Adjusts the input signal level for the amplifier modeling section.
- BASS: Controls the low-frequency response.
- MIDDLE: Adjusts the mid-range frequencies.
- MIDDLE FREQUENCY: Selects the center frequency for the Middle control.
- TREBLE: Controls the high-frequency response.
Effects (EFX)
- EFX INDICATOR: Press this button to activate or deactivate the effects section. The indicator light confirms when effects are engaged.
- PARAMETER 1: Adjusts the primary parameter of the selected EFX model.
- PARAMETER 2: Adjusts the secondary parameter of the selected EFX model.

Reverb Controls
- DECAY: Sets the duration or length of the reverb tail.
- LEVEL: Controls the balance between the dry signal and the reverb effect.
Master Volume and Indicators
- MASTER: Controls the final output volume of the amplifier.
- LOOP INDICATOR: Shows the status of the phrase loop function (e.g., recording, playback).
- BLUETOOTH INDICATOR: Lights up when a Bluetooth device is successfully connected for audio streaming. It flashes if no connection is detected. For APP connection, open the MIGHTY AMP APP, go to "Settings", select "Mighty Bass" as the current amp, and scan for devices. Connect to "MIGHTY BASS 50BT".
Power and Connectivity
- DC POWER JACK: Connect the provided AC power adapter (DC 28V, 4A) here.

- DI OUT: Provides a balanced signal output for connecting to mixing consoles, PA systems, or audio interfaces.
- GROUND LIFT TOGGLE SWITCH: Toggle this switch to disconnect the audio ground if you encounter hum or noise issues when connected to external equipment.
- IR TOGGLE SWITCH: This switch controls the activation of Cabinet Impulse Response (IR) simulation for the DI OUT and AMP outputs. Toggle it to engage IR for either or both.
- FOOT SWITCH JACK: Connect an optional footswitch, such as the NUX NMP-2 Lite, to control the Loop and Drum functions.
