Installation and Connections
Setup (See Figure A)
The Mitel MiVOICE 6920 IP phone can be set up as a direct network connection to an Ethernet wall jack or as a shared network connection, acting as a pass-through for a computer or another network device. This product is designed for indoor use only and for ambient temperatures at or below 49° C (121° F). The phone must be connected only to indoor routed PoE or Ethernet wiring.
Network Connections:
- Direct Network Connection: The port marked with a network icon connects the phone to the network and can provide power if Power over Ethernet (PoE) is available.
- Shared Network Connection: Connect an Ethernet cable from the phone's network port to the network jack on another device (e.g., a computer) to share the network connection. The PC jack on the phone does not supply inline power to other devices.
Connecting to Network and Power:
- If your network provides 802.3af/802.3at compliant inline power (PoE), connect an Ethernet cable from the phone's network port to the wall jack. No separate power adapter is required.
- If your network does not provide inline power, use the separately sold Mitel approved power adapter to connect the phone to a power source.
Handset and Headset Connections (See Figure B)
Connecting a Handset: Turn the phone over and locate the handset jack. Insert one end of the handset cord into the jack until it clicks. Route the cord through the available grooves and attach the handset to the other end.
Connecting a USB Headset (Optional): Locate the USB input port on the back of the phone and carefully insert the headset's USB cable.
Connecting a Wired Analog or DHSG/EHS Headset (Optional): Locate the headset input port. Insert the headset cord into the port until it clicks. WARNING: The headset port is for headset use only. Plugging any other devices into this port may cause damage to the phone and will void your warranty.
Desk Installation (See Figure C)
A reversible stand attaches to the back of the phone for desk installation, providing two viewing angles: 30° (low angle) and 60° (high angle). Locate the stand insertion area on the back of the phone, insert the stand, and slide it to the right until it snaps into place. The orientation of the stand determines the viewing angle.
Wall Installation
The Mitel MiVOICE 6920 IP phone can be mounted to a wall using the optional Mitel 6900 Series Wall Mount Kit. This kit allows for direct mounting to the wall or mounting on top of an existing telco wall plate. Refer to the Mitel 6900 Series Wall Mount Kit Installation Guide for additional details.
System Requirements
- Mitel Cloud Service or Mitel Communication platform with firmware release that supports 6900 phones.
