Hikvision DS-PDBG8-EG2 Wired Glass Break Detector

1. Appearance

The detector consists of the following parts:

• Front Panel
• LED Light Pipe
• PCB (Printed Circuit Board)
• Rear Panel

The PCB features:

• Tamper Resistor Headers
• Alarm Resistor Headers
• Sensor
• Adjustable Resistance (Detection range: 0 to 8 m)
• Terminal
• Tamper Protection
• Alarm LED Latch/Normal (Latch, Stay On, Normal)
• LED ON/OFF switch

LED Indicators:

• Blue: Alarm
• Green: Flex Activation
• Red: Shatter Activation

2. Resistor Wiring

Two methods are available for resistor wiring:

• Method 1: Use the jumper to select EOL (End of Line) resistance on ALARM/TAMPER pins.
• Method 2: Add the resistor to ALARM/TAMPER wiring ports.

Note: If EOL wiring is not used, leave the jumpers OFF. Do not force the jumper if it is not matched to the pin. Methods 1 & 2 should not be used on the ALARM/TAMPER at the same time.

Available resistor values:

• Alarm Resistance: 1K, 2K2, 4K7, 5K6, 6K8
• Tamper Resistance: 1K, 2K2, 4K7, 5K6

3. Connection Type

Connect the detector to the Alarm Control Panel.

• Normally Closed (NC) connection: The resistor must be connected in series with one end of the detector.
• Double End of Line (DEOL) Wiring: Example connection: Normal: 1K, Alarm: 4.4K, Tamper: Infinite.

4. Test

Perform a BG (Break Glass) Test.

5. Installation

General Guidelines:

• Do not obscure the detector's field of view with large objects.
• Ensure curtains, plants, or furniture do not cover the microphone opening.
• If curtains are present, place the detector between them and the window.
• Select the optimal location following the guidelines in this manual.
• Avoid mounting the detector in rooms with noisy equipment (air compressors, power tools, bells, etc.).
• Avoid mounting the detector on the same wall as the protected glass.
• Avoid mounting the detector in humid rooms (bathroom, etc.).
• Avoid mounting the detector on a wall with strong vibration.

Installation Caution: Additional force should equal three times the weight of the equipment, but not less than 50N. The equipment and its associated mounting means must remain secure during installation. After installation, the equipment, including any associated mounting plate, shall not be damaged.
