Items
In each level, you will find many interesting items.

- KONG Letters: Four letters spell out KONG. If you collect all four letters in the same level, you earn an extra life.

Tips
Here are some tips to help you progress more easily.
Jump Wisely
If you want to move left, right, up, or down, grab onto two vines to stop spinning. Before releasing, make sure you are aiming in the correct direction!
Look Around You
When on the ground or hanging from vines, press [up arrow] or [down arrow] on the Manette + to scroll the screen vertically and better see your surroundings. Look for potential enemies and vines before proceeding.
Navigate in the Air
When you are in the air, press [Button L] to steer left and [Button R] to steer right. The distance you travel is proportional to how long you hold the button. If you hold [Button L] or [Button R] while falling, Donkey Kong will automatically grab the nearest vine within reach.
Challenges
You will unlock new mini-games in Challenge mode as you complete levels and explore islands. Select a mini-game with the Manette + (game instructions appear on the top screen), then confirm your choice with [Button A].
Rolling Rumble
Jump over the logs rolling down the slope. If your jump allows you to avoid multiple logs at once, you will earn more points.
There are six mini-games in total.
Banana Catch
Catch the falling bananas. You earn more points if you juggle the shiny one.
Extras
This mode contains three options. Select one with the Manette +, and confirm your choice with [Button A].
- LESSONS: Review the lessons Cranky taught you in Adventure mode.
- HISTORY: Watch the cutscenes you have seen in Adventure mode.

Precautions
For best results during wireless communication, please follow these recommendations:
The icon on the screen indicates the wireless communication function. It appears on the Nintendo DS main menu or the game screen.
When the wireless communication icon is displayed, it means the associated option is initiating wireless communication.
DO NOT USE the wireless communication function in places where it is prohibited (such as hospitals, airplanes, etc.). For more information regarding the wireless communication function, please refer to the separate Health and Safety Precautions booklet that accompanies your Nintendo DS system.
Signal Strength:
During a game using wireless communication, the icon appears to indicate signal strength. The icon has four different displays, as shown in the illustration, depending on signal strength. The stronger the signal, the smoother the wireless communication gameplay.
The power indicator flashes rapidly to indicate that wireless communication is in progress.
Signal Strength Indicators:
- 0: Weaker
- 1, 2, 3: Stronger
For best results, follow these tips:
- Start with a distance of about 10 meters or less between consoles and move closer or further apart as desired, while maintaining a signal strength of two bars or more for best results.
- Keep the distance between consoles under 20 meters.
- The consoles should be oriented towards each other as directly as possible.
- Avoid people or obstacles being between the Nintendo DS consoles.
- Avoid interference from other devices. If communications seem affected by other devices (wireless network, microwave oven, cordless phones, computers), move to another location or turn off the interfering device.
