Donkey Kong and Friends
Donkey Kong
The banana-loving king of the jungle. His mighty power is second to none.
Diddy Kong
Small but dependable. The Barrel Jet on his back lets him hover above the ground.
Dixie Kong
Diddy Kong's girlfriend. By spinning her ponytail she can propel herself into the air.
Cranky Kong
Donkey Kong's hard-headed, curmudgeonly elder. He can use his cane to bounce safely across spikes.
Items
Items Found in Stages
- Bananas: Collect 100 for an extra Red Balloon. They also help fill the Kong POW meter.
- Banana Coins: Use these to buy items at Funky's Fly 'n' Buy.
- Hearts: Restore one heart of health.
- Red Balloons: Grant extra lives. Can also be bought at Funky's Fly 'n' Buy.
- KONG Letters: Collecting all four in one attempt on a level may trigger an event.
- Puzzle Pieces: Collect all in a level to unlock content in Extras.
- Squawks: Alerts you when a Puzzle Piece is nearby.
- Green Balloons: Save you from losing a life if you fall into a pit.
- Blue Balloons: Refill your air meter when it runs out.
Items in Funky's Fly 'n' Buy
- Heart Boosts: Increase maximum health by one heart.
- Banana Juice: Provides temporary invincibility. Automatically activated upon contact with hazards.
- Crash Guard: Protects from damage in Mine Carts or Rocket Barrels, withstanding one hit.
- Portable DD/DX/CK Barrels: Makes the partner character appear automatically.
- Red Balloons: Can be purchased for extra lives.
Important Information
Pairing Controllers
Before using a Wii Remote, pair it with the Wii U console. Open the HOME Menu, select CONTROLLER SETTINGS, then PAIR, and follow on-screen instructions.
