NAVAC NTB7 Tube Bender User Manual
Safety Guide
Warning: To avoid injury, please read this instruction manual carefully before use.
Tube Bender Operating Instructions
-
1. Install the Mandrel and Crossbar
Place the crossbar into the corresponding slot in the tube bender and tighten the locking screw. Position the tube bender vertically, then release the handle by pulling the handle out to reset the rack. Insert the mandrel into the pushing head.
Diagram Description (Fig. 1): Shows the tube bender components assembled: the crossbar secured by a screw, the mandrel inserted into the pushing head, and the rack and handle in position.
-
2. Place the Copper Pipe
Rotate the sizing wheel to select the correct notch size and place the copper pipe into the notch. Incorrectly placed notches will result in bending failure.
Diagram Description (Fig. 2/7): Illustrates placing the copper pipe into a selected notch on the tubing size selector, with the mandrel positioned nearby.
-
3. Bend Tube
Press and release the handle until the desired angle is reached. The maximum bending angle is 90°.
Diagram Description (Fig. 3/8): Shows the handle being pressed to bend the copper tube against the mandrel.
-
4. Release Tube
Place the bender vertically, then release the handle by pulling the handle out to lower the rack. Wiggle the copper tube to remove.
Diagram Description (Fig. 4/9): Depicts the handle pulled out to lower the rack, facilitating the removal of the bent copper tube.
Reverse Bender Operation
Reverse Bending Setup
-
1. Reverse Bending Installation
Insert the Reverse Bending Top Block into the pushing head and tighten the locking screw B. Place the Reverse Bending Retaining Block into the corresponding slot and tighten the locking screw C. Position the tube bender vertically, then release the handle by pulling the handle out to reset the rack.
Diagram Description (Fig. 5): Shows the assembly for reverse bending, including the Reverse Bending Top Block, Pushing Head, locking screws B and C, and the Reverse Bending Retaining Block.
-
2. Install Mandrel and Crossbar
Place the crossbar and tighten the lock screw A. Insert the mandrel into the base. Note: The mandrel may need to be flipped to the back.
Diagram Description (Fig. 6): Illustrates installing the crossbar with lock screw A and inserting the mandrel into the base for reverse bending.
Bending Process (Reverse)
Follow the standard tube bending and release procedures as described above. Ensure the copper pipe is correctly placed in the appropriate notch for the desired bend angle (maximum 90°).
Troubleshooting
Note: If the handle is stuck, please check if the Rack, Handle, and Drive Pawl are clogged or obstructed.
Diagram Description (Fig. 10): Highlights the Rack, Handle, and Drive Pawl components, indicating they should be checked if the handle becomes stuck.
