Instructions for Use
1. Tube Expansion
- Deburr copper tube: It is recommended to deburr before expansion, especially for 3/8in copper tubes.
- Anneal copper tube: A soft tube does not require annealing.
- Insert tube: Insert the copper tube into the expander head and press the start button to activate. The expander will automatically stop once the expansion is complete.
2. Pressure Release
- Automatic pressure release: Pressure will be automatically released after the tube expansion process is finished.
- Manual pressure release: The manual pressure release button should only be used if the expander is malfunctioning. Push the button in the direction of the arrow to release pressure.
3. Lighting
Click the "Light" button to turn on the light.
4. Charging
- Press the tabs on both sides of the battery to remove it.
- Ensure the battery is properly connected.
- Replace the battery pack.
Charging Indicator Status:
- Indicator blinks slowly: Charging
- Indicator stays on: Full
- Indicator blinks rapidly: Fault
5. Oil Change
To maintain excellent performance, replace the hydraulic oil annually or every 6000 expansions.
- Place the cone sleeve on the oil bottle cone and the O-ring.
- Unscrew the small screw on the drain plug cover and remove it.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to unscrew the reservoir cap (clean dust near the reservoir opening to prevent it from falling in).
- Invert the expander, press the exhaust pressure plate, drain the used oil from the expander, then invert the expander and lay it flat. (Dispose of used oil appropriately).
- Press the exhaust pressure plate while inserting the oil bottle into the refueling port.
- Loosen the exhaust pressure plate. Once the exhaust pressure plate returns to its original position, press repeatedly until there are no more bubbles in the oil bottle.
- Remove the oil bottle, replace the reservoir cap screw, and screw the oil change cover back onto the expander.
Lubrication
Regularly add an appropriate amount of grease into the cone head orifice of the expander to prevent the expander head from becoming stuck or unable to reset during the expansion process due to poor lubrication.
Safety Guide and Attention
Attention: Please read this manual carefully before use.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy.
- Do not operate under the influence of alcohol.
- Prevent children and untrained individuals from using the device.
- Use original parts and accessories.
- Prolonged use may cause the motor to overheat, activating the overheat protection. Temperatures above 70°C (158°F) or below 5°C (41°F) may activate motor overheat or undercooling protection.
- Do not disassemble the NTE11L without authorization, as this may void the warranty.
- The product is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for two years from the date of purchase.
- Dispose of the battery in accordance with local regulations.
- Patent pending.
Important Notes:
- Replace the expander in its box after use to prevent water and dust from entering.
- If the expander is used continuously for a long period, it may trigger temperature variation protection, and the indicator will flash 5 times. Wait for the expander to cool down for a while; once the temperature returns to normal, you can use it again.
- The expander will automatically shut off if inactive for 20 seconds.
- Use the dedicated oil bottle and hydraulic oil provided for draining/refilling to avoid damaging the expander.
- This expander is designed for soft copper tubes. If a hard copper tube is used, it must be annealed before use, otherwise, the tube will not expand or will split. Hard copper tubes that are not annealed will damage the tools and void the warranty.
- If the device shuts down abnormally during operation, follow these procedures:
- Press the manual pressure release button to release pressure.
- Remove and reconnect the battery pack.
- Restart the expander to see if the problem is resolved.
- If the problem persists, please contact NAVAC technical support.
