Step 1 - Install the Device

Connect the router to a power source and your internet connection.

  1. Connect the router to a ? Power Outlet.
  2. Connect the router's WAN Port to your internet source:
    • Uplink CPE Access: If you have an internet access device (modem or optical fiber modem), connect the network cable from the modem's LAN port to the router's WAN port.
    • Broadband Internet Access: If broadband internet access is available, connect the network cable from the wall's broadband network port to the router's WAN port.

Step 2 - Add the router

Use the ZLife Lite mobile application to add and configure your router.

  1. Download and install the ZLife Lite app. For iOS devices, download from the App Store. For Android devices, download from Google Play.
  2. Open the ZLife Lite app and tap Add device.
  3. Select Wi-Fi Router from the list of ZTE devices.
  4. Connect the router's WAN port to the broadband port using a network cable. Ensure the router is powered on. The router's LED indicator should turn solid green.
  5. Scan the QR Code ? found on the bottom of the router, or manually enter your wireless account and password if no QR code is present.
  6. Note for Android users: If your mobile phone's operating system is Android, you may need to connect to Wi-Fi manually after scanning the QR code. To avoid entering the password manually, you can tap "copy the password". This is an Android security requirement.
  7. After the router is successfully added, the "Configure network" screen will appear. Tap Bind. The router indicator light will be green and steady upon successful addition.
  8. Note: For advanced configurations, access the router's web page. The login address and default username/password are typically found on a label on the bottom of the router.

Step 3 - Set Up a Mesh Network

This step is required only if you want to deploy multiple Z1200 routers to create a mesh network.

  1. Ensure the router you have just configured is connected to the Internet.
  2. Power on the new router and follow the instructions provided by the ZLife Lite app.
  3. Once the new router is connected to the existing router, its LED indicator will turn solid blue.

Method 2: Use WPS key for connection

  1. Ensure the router you have just configured is connected to the Internet.
  2. Place the new router close to the existing router and power it on.
  3. Press the WPS buttons on both routers until their LEDs blink green. Ensure the time between pressing the two WPS buttons is less than 1 minute.
  4. The pairing process may take up to 2 minutes. When pairing is complete, the new router's LED indicator will turn solid blue.
  5. You can now move your new router to its intended location.
