2013 Nissan Sentra Quick Reference Guide

New System Features

Drive Mode

The vehicle offers three drive modes: NORMAL, ECO, and SPORT.

For more information, refer to the "Starting and driving (section 5)" of your Owner's Manual.

Navigation System (if so equipped)

The Navigation System calculates routes from your current location to a destination, providing real-time map display and turn-by-turn voice guidance. It continually updates your vehicle's position and recalculates routes if you deviate from the original path.

For more information, refer to your Navigation System Owner's Manual.

Essential Information

Loose Fuel Cap

A "LOOSE FUEL CAP" warning message appears in the trip computer 01 when the fuel-filler cap is not tightened correctly. Tighten the cap clockwise until a single click is heard. The message disappears when the vehicle detects the properly tightened cap and the button 02 on the steering wheel is pressed. If the cap is not properly tightened, the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) may also illuminate.

For more information, refer to the "Instruments and controls (section 2)" and the "Pre-driving checks and adjustments (section 3)" of your Owner's Manual.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with Easy Fill Tire Alert (if so equipped)

A "CHECK... TIRE... PRES..." warning message and the low tire pressure warning light 02 illuminate when one or more tires are low on pressure. Tire pressures should be checked when tires are cold (vehicle parked for 3 hours or more, or driven less than 1 mi at moderate speeds). After adjusting tire pressures, drive the vehicle above 16 MPH (25 km/h) for the warning message and light to disappear.

The TPMS with Easy Fill Tire Alert provides visual and audible signals to help inflate tires to the recommended COLD tire pressure.

To use the Easy Fill Tire Alert system:

  1. Move the shift lever to P (PARK) and apply the parking brake.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the ON position (do not start the engine).
  3. Add air to the under-inflated tire; hazard warning lights will flash within seconds.
  4. When the correct tire pressure is reached, the horn will beep once, and hazard lights will stop flashing.
  5. Repeat for additional under-inflated tires.

When the low tire pressure warning light flashes for approximately 1 minute and remains on, the TPMS is not functioning properly and should be checked by a NISSAN dealer.

Tire pressure can fluctuate with temperature and vehicle operation. Always check tire pressures before long trips.

For more information, refer to the "Instruments and controls (section 2)", the "Starting and driving (section 5)" and the "Maintenance and do-it-yourself (section 8)" of your Owner's Manual.
