- Damage from floods, fires, winds, lightning, accidents, corrosive atmosphere, or other conditions beyond Daikin's control.

- Normal maintenance (e.g., coil cleaning, filter replacement, lubrication).
- Parts or accessories not supplied or designated by the manufacturer.

Warranty Duration and Start Date
When Does Warranty Coverage Begin?
Warranty coverage begins on the "installation date." This is determined by:
- The date the owner purchases a newly constructed residence.
- The date the unit is originally installed in an existing residence.
- Three months after the manufacture date if the installation or purchase date cannot be verified. The serial number's first four digits (YYMM) indicate the manufacture date.
How Long Does Warranty Coverage Last?
If the unit is not registered, the warranty on all parts lasts for up to 5 YEARS after the installation date (Initial Term Warranty). If properly registered within 60 days of installation, an additional warranty (Registered Additional Term Warranty) is provided, lasting for the duration the original registered owner owns and resides in the home, up to 10 YEARS after the installation date for all parts. Specific terms apply to Texas residents. Warranty coverage does not extend beyond the unit's original installation location. Part replacements do not extend the warranty period.
Daikin's Responsibilities and Owner's Remedies
What Will Daikin Do To Correct Problems?
Daikin will furnish a replacement part, without charge for the part only, for any part found to be defective due to workmanship or materials under normal use and maintenance during the warranty period. This is Daikin's sole responsibility.
What Won't Daikin Do To Correct Problems?
Daikin will not pay for labor, freight, or other costs associated with service, repair, deinstallation, or installation. Costs for electricity or fuel, lodging, transportation, or refrigerant are also not covered. Daikin and its affiliates are not liable for incidental or consequential damages, including lost profits or property damage.
Receiving Warranty Service
If a problem occurs, contact a licensed contractor. To receive a replacement part, the contractor must bring the defective part to a Daikin heating and air conditioning products distributor. For further information, contact Homeowner Support by mail to 19001 Kermier Road, Waller, Texas 77484.
Legal Remedies and Arbitration
This warranty provides specific legal rights, which may vary by state or province. An Arbitration Clause is included, affecting legal rights. Disputes are to be decided by neutral, binding arbitration, waiving the right to participate in class-action claims. Small claims court is an option for eligible disputes. The Federal Arbitration Act governs U.S. residents, while Canadian residents are governed by provincial arbitration law. The law of the installation state/province governs substantive warranty rights. Arbitration rules are provided by organizations like JAMS and the ADR Institute of Canada. The arbitration hearing location will generally be in the resident's judicial district or province. Costs are generally borne by each party, with specific provisions for consumers initiating arbitration with JAMS. The Arbitration Clause survives warranty expiration or termination.
Non-Owner Occupied Residence Warranty
Separate warranty terms apply to units installed in residences not occupied by the owner and in commercial properties. These sections detail similar coverage, exclusions, and dispute resolution processes, with variations in warranty duration for registered owners in non-owner-occupied residences.
Commercial Property Warranty
Specific warranty terms apply to units installed in buildings other than residences, such as commercial properties. These terms cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and maintenance, with similar exclusions and dispute resolution processes as residential warranties.
