  • Do not operate this unit if it is damaged.
  • During long periods of non-use, disconnect the unit from the power source.
  • Always mount this unit in a safe and stable manner.
  • Route power supply cords so they are not likely to be walked on or pinched, paying attention to the point of exit from the unit.
  • To avoid unnecessary wear and improve lifespan, unplug the unit when not in use for extended periods.
  • Assembly and installation must be carried out by a specialist familiar with hazards and regulations. Maintenance, operation, and commissioning must only be carried out by qualified persons.
  • When choosing a location, avoid impact, vibration, dust, hot/cold temperatures, and dampness. Do not place near powerful transformers or motors.
  • Operate the effect light at a maximum ambient temperature of 40° C.
  • Never cover the device. Ensure sufficient ventilation when mounting with other equipment. Maintain a distance of at least 0.5 meters to other devices and walls. Never install in proximity of heat sources. Do not point strong spot lights or light sources towards the device, as this may cause overheating.
  • Do not drill or screw additional screws into the casing; this may expose dangerous voltage.
  • The device must be mounted out of normal reach.

Operation

DMX

To set the DMX starting channel address, press the Mode button until "d---" is displayed. Use the Up and Down buttons to select the desired address, then press Enter to save.

Internal Programs

To select and run one of the four built-in programs, press the Mode key until the desired program is found.

DMX Termination

The last fixture in a DMX chain must be "terminated" to prevent electrical noise from corrupting DMX control signals. To terminate, solder a 1/4 Watt, 120 ohm resistor across the DATA - and DATA + wires of the last fixture. The diagram shows typical connections. For short runs with few fixtures, termination may not be necessary.

DMX Chain Illustration:

Diagram showing 6 fixtures connected in a daisy-chain. Fixtures 1 through 5 have DMX IN and DMX OUT. Fixture 6 (last fixture) also has DMX IN and DMX OUT, with a visual representation of a 120 Ohm resistor connected between the DATA- and DATA+ pins of the DMX OUT connector.

Termination Resistor: A close-up shows a DMX connector with pins 1 (DATA-), 2 (DATA+), and 3 (Ground). The 120 Ohm resistor is shown connected between pins 1 and 2.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Always follow safety instructions before cleaning or servicing:

  • Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or components removed.
  • Disconnect the device from all power sources before servicing or repair.
  • Capacitors may still carry voltage even after disconnection.
  • Only qualified experts familiar with hazards and regulations should perform repairs.
  • Never use aggressive cleaning agents, alcohol, or chemical solutions, as they may damage the casing or impair function.
  • Always disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning.
  • Use a dry, lint-free cloth for cleaning.

Handling

  • Never connect the mains plug to a socket immediately after moving the device from a cold to a warm environment to avoid condensation damage. Allow the device to reach room temperature first.
  • Never pull the mains plug by the cable; pull it by the intended grip areas.
  • Unplug the mains plug if the device is not used for an extended period.
  • Disconnect the mains plug during thunderstorms for safety.
  • Never place filter foils, masks, or other materials over the light exit, as this may cause heat damage and fire.
  • The device may heat up during operation; do not touch the casing. Let it cool off before touching or cleaning.
  • Do not cover the device to ensure sufficient ventilation. Air circulation must not be impaired by objects like magazines, tablecloths, or curtains. Maintain a minimum distance of 0.5 meters around the device.
  • The device is not suitable for continuous operation. Consistent compliance with operating breaks increases its lifespan. Allow it to cool off for an extended period before operating again.
