Introduction and Safety Information
Please read this owner's manual carefully for proper use of your Rockville DMX-WTR (Transmitter) and DMX-WRE (Receiver) wireless DMX modules. For technical assistance, please call the technical help line at 1-646-758-0144, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM EST.
Important Safety Instructions
⚠️ CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. DO NOT OPEN.
No user-serviceable parts inside. Rockville recommends taking the unit to a qualified service technician for any repairs.
- For indoor use only. Do not expose units to moisture.
- Only use the included power adapters. Do not use adapters if the cord is damaged. Do not break off the ground prong, as this increases the risk of electric shock.
- Working temperature range: -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C) with 10% to 90% relative humidity.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the transmitter and the receiver(s).
Product Functions
DMX-WTR Transmitter Functions
- 1. XLR 3-pin male connector
- 2. 5-volt power input
- 3. ID key LED indicator
- 4. ID key
- 5. Antenna
DMX-WRE Receiver Functions
- 1. XLR 3-pin female connector
- 2. 5-volt power input
- 3. ID key

Operation
- Power up the DMX-WRE unit(s) first by connecting the power supply.
- Power up the DMX-WTR unit by connecting the power supply.
- Connect the DMX-WTR to the DMX source. If using a fixture with a built-in transmitter, turn it on.
- Connect the DMX-WRE unit(s) to the desired fixture(s).
- Press the ID key on the DMX-WTR to indicate the ID setting. Press again to set the ID. To change the ID value, press the key button until the desired value is found. Follow the same procedure for the DMX-WRE. The ID must match on both units. If your fixture has a built-in transmitter and you are using only a DMX-WRE, the DMX-WRE's ID should match the fixture's ID. Units will remember the previously used ID for future use.
ID Code and Corresponding LED Indicator Color
ID Code | LED Indicator Color |
---|---|
1 | RED |
2 | GREEN |
3 | RED + GREEN |
4 | BLUE |
5 | RED + BLUE |
6 | GREEN + BLUE |
7 | RED + GREEN + BLUE |
The DMX-WTR automatically selects an interference-free channel and assigns it to the DMX-WRE. If interference exceeds 10%, the DMX-WTR switches to another channel and sets the DMX-WRE accordingly. If the frequency is fully occupied, the DMX-WTR switches to frequency hopping mode.
The DMX-WTR LED blinks RED slowly until communication is established. The DMX-WRE status LED flashes GREEN slowly until communication is established.
