Installation Instructions
General Steps
- Use the provided conduit, trimming to length if necessary.
- Install the conduit sleeve into the wall during construction. Run the fixture wiring through the sleeve. (Note: Coupling is for VO fixtures only.)
- Use a voltmeter to ensure the fixture receives between 11 and 15 Volts.
- Connect the wiring using a waterproof connector.
- Press the faceplate into the sleeve. Level and orient the fixture as desired.
For concrete ground-mount options, use the designated construction housing.
Circuiting Guidelines
These guidelines help minimize voltage drop for optimal performance. Always ensure wiring is protected and connections are secure.
Distance | Voltage | Wire Gauge | Max Wattage |
---|---|---|---|
0-40 ft (0-13 m) | 15 V | 12 AWG (4.0 mm²) | 160 W |

Transformer Guidelines
Single Transformer
When using one transformer, center it relative to the total wattage load. Minimize all cable runs to reduce voltage drop.
Multiple Transformers
When using multiple transformers, distribute the load evenly across all units. To avoid voltage drop, install transformers as close to the fixtures as possible.
Safety Warnings and Precautions
Please read and keep all safety and use instructions. For questions, contact your local distributor or visit fxl.com/support.
Risk of Fire or Injury to Person
- Turn off/unplug the fixture and allow it to cool before replacing the lamp.
- Lamps get hot quickly. Only touch the switch/plug when turning the fixture on.
- Do not touch hot lenses, guards, or enclosures.
- Keep lamps away from materials that may burn.
- Do not touch the lamp with bare hands at any time. Use a soft cloth. Oil from skin can damage the lamp.
- Do not operate the luminaire fitting if a shield is missing or damaged.
Risk of Electric Shock
- This luminaire may be installed less than 5 feet (1.5 meters) from a pool, spa, or fountain when used with a UL 379 listed transformer.
- A luminaire shall not use tungsten halogen lamps unless the luminaire is specifically marked for such lamps.
- Supply connections and electrical components are located above ground level, except for secondary cords suitable for wet locations.
Low-Voltage Cable Requirements
- Low-voltage cables must be protected by routing them in close proximity to the luminaire or fitting, or alongside a building structure like a house or deck.
- Cables should not be buried, except for a maximum of 6 inches (152 mm) to connect to the main low-voltage cable.
- Cable length should be cut so that it connects to a connector within 6 inches (152 mm) of a building structure, luminaire, or fitting.
