Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years. ?
Protect Your Hearing
- Use the lowest volume necessary for your task.
- Turn up the volume only in noisy surroundings.
- Turn down the volume before adding a headset or earpiece.
Turn off your radio power in the following conditions:
- Before removing or installing a battery or accessory, or when charging the battery.
- In potentially hazardous environments: near electrical blasting caps, in a blasting area, or in atmospheres with flammable gas, dust particles, metallic powders, or grain powders.
- While taking on fuel or parked at gasoline service stations.
To avoid electromagnetic interference and/or compatibility conflicts:
- Turn off your radio in any facility where posted notices instruct you to do so, such as hospitals or healthcare facilities using equipment sensitive to external RF energy.
- Turn off your radio when on board an aircraft. Radio use must comply with applicable airline regulations.
Avoid Burns
- Do not use any portable radio with a damaged antenna. If a damaged antenna contacts the skin during use, a minor burn can result.
- When handling batteries, especially if placing them in containers with metal objects, be cautious of short circuits caused by conductive materials like jewelry or keys, which can lead to burns.
Antennas
Do not use any portable radio that has a damaged antenna. If a damaged antenna comes into contact with the skin when the radio is in use, a minor burn can result.
Batteries
When conductive materials like jewelry or keys touch exposed battery terminals, they can create a short circuit, leading to the battery becoming hot and causing burns. Handle batteries with care, especially when placing them in pockets or containers with metal objects.
Long transmission
When the transceiver is used for extended transmissions, the radiator and chassis may become hot.
Safety Operation
- Do not use the charger outdoors or in moist environments; use only in dry locations.
- Do not disassemble the charger, as this may cause electrical shock or fire.
- Do not operate the charger if it is broken or damaged.
- Do not place a portable radio in an area with an airbag or in the airbag deployment area, as the radio may be propelled with great force and cause serious injury when the airbag inflates.
To reduce risk:
- Pull the plug, not the cord, when disconnecting the charger.
- Unplug the charger from the AC outlet before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
- Contact Retekess for assistance with repairs and service.
