Installation of Corner Shelf
NOTE: Corner shelves are placed in rear corners of shower at heights specified per the customer (as shown in Figure A). Ensure the shelf does not interfere with any physical operation of the shower, such as being too close to a grab bar.
- Mount Support Bracket: First, clean shower walls of any dirt or debris using standard isopropyl alcohol where the corner shelf will be mounted. Install the shelf support bracket by peeling off the paper tape backing to expose the adhesive tape on the flexible corner mount. Press it firmly into the shower corner, keeping the front edge approximately 1/16 inch below level. This placement provides a slight downward angle for water to drain. (Refer to Figures 1 & 2)
- Dry-Fit Shelf: Place the corner shelf into the corner over the mounted support bracket with the beveled face pointed downward (Figure 3). Check if it fits snugly into the shower corner without gaps. Trim or sand the shelf if necessary to ensure a square fit into the shower corner.
- Apply Silicone Sealant to Mount: Apply DAP 3.0 Advanced Hybrid or DAP Kwik Seal Ultra Sealant to the top and bottom of the corner support bracket to secure the corner shelf to the bracket. (Refer to Figure 2)
- Install Shelf: Gently pull the top and bottom of the corner shelf apart and slip it over the support bracket. Apply sealant around all rear edges of the corner shelf to provide additional support to the shower panel walls. (Refer to Figure A)
⚠️ WARNING: Do not put weight on the shelf for at least 24 hours!
Diagram Descriptions:
Figure A: Illustrates a corner shelf installed in a shower corner, attached to two support brackets mounted on the shower walls.
Figure 1: Shows the process of peeling the protective tape from the adhesive backing of the shelf support bracket.
Figure 2: Depicts the correct placement of the support bracket against a shower wall. A spirit level is shown alongside, indicating that the front edge of the bracket should be approximately 1/16 inch below the level line to create a slight downward slope for water drainage.
Figure 3: Illustrates the corner shelf being placed onto the mounted support bracket. The shelf's beveled edge is shown facing downwards, indicating the correct orientation for installation.
