Appliance Usage Guidelines
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lacking experience or knowledge, unless supervised or trained by a responsible person.
This appliance is intended for household and similar applications, such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other work environments.
- Farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments.
- Bed and breakfast type environments.
- Catering and similar non-retail applications.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. Grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for electrical current.
The appliance has a cord with a grounding wire and a 3-prong plug. Plug into a properly grounded outlet. If the outlet is a 2-prong wall outlet, it must be replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet. The serial rating plate indicates voltage and frequency.
WARNING - Improper use of the grounding plug can result in electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician or service agent if grounding instructions are not fully understood or if doubt exists about proper grounding.
Do not connect to extension cords or other appliances in the same outlet. Do not splice the power cord. Never cut or remove the third ground prong. Do not use ungrounded adapters.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person.

Installation Instructions
LOCATION
- Two people should be used when moving the appliance.
- Remove interior and exterior packaging before installation. Wipe the outside with a soft, dry cloth and the inside with a lukewarm, wet cloth.
- Place the appliance on a floor strong enough to support it when fully loaded.
- Do not place in direct sunlight or near heat sources (stove, heater) as this increases electrical consumption. Extreme cold ambient temperatures can also cause improper performance.
- Do not use near water, e.g., in a wet basement or near a sink.
- This appliance is for household use only. It is not designed for outdoor installation or in areas without temperature control (garages, porches, vehicles, etc.).
- Before connecting to power, let the appliance stand upright for approximately 6 hours to reduce the possibility of cooling system malfunction from transport handling.
- Dimensions: 44.9 cm (17.7 inches) wide, 68.5 cm (27 inches) high, 50.3 cm (19.8 inches) deep. Ensure minimum space between appliance and surrounding walls/vents.
- Allow 12.7 cm (5 inches) space between the back of the appliance and the wall. Allow 5 cm (2 inches) between sides/top and walls/countertops.
- Intended for free-standing installation only; do not build into cabinets or counters, as this can cause malfunction.

THERMOSTAT DIAL AND INTERIOR LIGHT
The thermostat dial and interior light housing are located on the inner ceiling of the appliance.
TEMPERATURE SELECTION
Adjust temperature by turning the thermostat dial on the cabinet ceiling.
- Larger, darker dots indicate the coldest setting.
- Smaller, lighter dots indicate the warmest setting.
- The "OFF" position turns off the cooling function.
Internal temperature can vary based on ambient temperature, item quantity, and door opening frequency.

INTERIOR LIGHT
The interior LED light turns on when the door is opened and off when closed.
If the interior light burns out, contact a Danby certified service technician for replacement.
Note: Light burnout does not affect appliance functionality.

LEVELING INSTRUCTIONS
An adjustable leg at the bottom allows for leveling.
- Turn the leveling leg counter-clockwise until the foot touches the cabinet bottom.
- Slowly turn the leveling leg clockwise until the appliance is level.

DOOR REVERSAL INSTRUCTIONS
If the appliance was placed on its back or side, allow it to remain upright for 6 hours before plugging in to avoid internal component damage.
- Remove three screws from the back of the worktop. Lift and pull the worktop forward to remove. Move the worktop hinge hole cover from the left side to the right side hinge hole.
- Remove the door spindle cover (top left hinge). Remove the top right door hole cover (may require a flat blade screwdriver).
- Remove the upper hinge from the top right cabinet. Remove the door.
- Remove the lower hinge hole cover from the bottom left door and move it to the bottom right door.
- Remove the adjustable foot and lower hinge from the bottom right cabinet. Remove the solid foot and screws from the bottom left cabinet. Install the solid foot on the bottom right cabinet. Install the lower hinge and adjustable foot on the bottom left cabinet.
- Remove the upper hinge pin. Flip the upper hinge over and install the pin on the other side.
- Install the upper hinge and door onto the cabinet.
- Install the door spindle cover over the top right hinge. Install the hole cover in the top left hole.
- Install the worktop by placing it on the appliance, pushing it back until it clicks, and reinstalling the three screws.
Note: Ensure the top of the door is level with the cabinet top and the rubber gasket seals properly all around when reinstalling the door.

Care & Maintenance
CLEANING
Ensure the appliance is unplugged before cleaning.
- For interior cleaning, use a soft cloth with a solution of 1 tablespoon baking soda per quart of water or mild detergent.
- Wash removable shelves in mild detergent solution, then dry and wipe with a soft cloth.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Keep the door seal area clean. Clean with soapy cloth, rinse with damp cloth, and let dry.
Note: Do not use cleaners containing ammonia or alcohol, as they can damage the appliance finish. Never use commercial, abrasive cleaners, or sharp objects.
POWER FAILURE
Most power failures are short and should not affect appliance temperature if the door remains closed. For prolonged outages, take steps to protect contents.
Note: Wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the refrigerator if operation has been interrupted.
DEFROST
This appliance has an automatic defrost function. Defrost water is channeled to a drip tray above the compressor, where it evaporates due to heat transfer.
VACATION
- Short vacations (less than 3 weeks): Leave the appliance operating.
- Long vacations: Remove all items, turn off the appliance, clean and dry the interior thoroughly. Leave the door slightly ajar (block open if necessary) to prevent odors and mold growth.
MOVING
- Ensure the appliance is empty.
- Secure shelves inside with tape.
- Turn the adjustable leg up to the base to prevent damage.
- Secure the door with tape.
- Ensure the appliance remains upright during transport. Protect the exterior with a blanket or similar item.
- If placed on its back or side during transport, allow it to remain upright for 6 hours before plugging in at the destination to avoid internal component damage.
DISPOSAL
This appliance should not be treated as regular household waste. Take it to an appropriate collection point for recycling electrical components. Contact your local waste removal agency or government office for information on local collection points.

Warranty Information
LIMITED "CARRY IN" WARRANTY
This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer's defects in material and workmanship, provided it is used under normal operating conditions.
This warranty is available only to the original purchaser from Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) or an authorized distributor. It is non-transferable.
TERMS OF WARRANTY
- Plastic parts are warranted for thirty (30) days from purchase date.
- First 18 months: Functional parts found defective will be repaired or replaced at warrantor's option, at no charge to the original purchaser.
To Obtain Service
Contact the dealer where purchased or the nearest authorized Danby service depot. Service must be performed by a qualified technician. If service is performed by anyone other than an authorized depot, all Danby obligations under this warranty are void.
Purchaser is responsible for transporting the appliance to the nearest authorized service depot. Transportation charges are not covered.
Danby is not responsible for spoilage or damage to food or other contents due to appliance defects or improper use.
EXCLUSIONS
No other warranties, conditions, representations, or guarantees are implied or made by Danby or its distributors. All other warranties are expressly excluded.
Danby is not liable for damages to persons or property, including the unit itself, or consequential damages from malfunction. By purchasing, the buyer agrees to indemnify Danby against claims for damages caused by the unit.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Warranty does not apply if damage or repair is caused by:
- Power failure.
- Damage during transit or moving.
- Improper power supply (low voltage, defective wiring, inadequate fuses).
- Accident, alteration, abuse, misuse, or abnormal operating conditions (e.g., inadequate air circulation, extreme temperatures).
- Commercial or industrial use.
- Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostilities, acts of God (hurricanes, floods, etc.).
- Service calls for customer education.
- Improper installation (e.g., building-in a free-standing appliance, outdoor use not approved for the location).
Proof of purchase date is required for warranty claims. Retain sales receipts.
