Safety Requirements
DANGER: Risk of fire or explosion. Flammable refrigerant used. Do not puncture refrigerant tubing.
- Do not use mechanical devices to defrost the refrigerator.
- Ensure servicing is done by factory-authorized personnel to minimize damage or safety issues.
- If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazard.
- Consult the repair manual or owner's guide before attempting service. Follow all safety precautions.
- Dispose of properly according to federal or local regulations.
- Follow handling instructions carefully.
- Do not store explosive substances, such as aerosol cans with flammable propellant, in this appliance.
WARNING: Keep ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure or built-in structure clear of obstruction.
WARNING: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate defrosting, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
WARNING: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
WARNING: Do not use electrical appliances inside food storage compartments unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
CAUTION: Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
DANGER: Risk of child entrapment. Before discarding an old appliance:
- Remove the door or lid.
- Leave shelves in place so children cannot easily climb inside.
DANGER: Do not add a lock to the door or lid, as this can cause child entrapment and harm.
Appliance Usage Restrictions
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience/knowledge, unless supervised or trained by a responsible person.
This appliance is intended for household and similar applications, such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other work environments.
- Farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments.
- Bed and breakfast type environments.
- Catering and similar non-retail applications.
Grounding Instructions
This appliance must be grounded. Grounding reduces the risk of electrical shock by providing an escape wire for electrical current.
The power cord has a grounding wire and a 3-prong plug. Plug into a properly grounded outlet. If the outlet is a 2-prong type, it must be replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong outlet. The serial rating plate indicates voltage and frequency.
WARNING: Improper use of the grounding plug can result in electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician or service agent if grounding instructions are not fully understood or if doubt exists.
Do not connect to extension cords or other appliances in the same outlet. Do not splice the power cord. Never cut or remove the third ground prong. Do not use ungrounded extension cords or adapters.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or similarly qualified person.

Installation Instructions
Location
- Use two people to move the appliance.
- Remove interior and exterior packaging. Wipe the outside with a soft, dry cloth and the inside with a lukewarm, wet cloth.
- Place on a floor strong enough to support the fully loaded appliance.
- Do not place in direct sunlight or near heat sources (stove, heater) as this increases electrical consumption. Extreme cold can also cause improper performance.
- Do not use near water (e.g., wet basement, near sink).
- Intended for household use only. Not designed for outdoor installation or areas without temperature control (garages, porches, vehicles).
- Before connecting to power, let the appliance stand upright for approximately 6 hours to reduce the possibility of cooling system malfunction from transport.
- Dimensions: 44.9 cm (17.7 in) Wide x 68.5 cm (27 in) High x 50.3 cm (19.8 in) Deep. Ensure adequate space between the appliance and surrounding walls/vents.
- Allow 12.7 cm (5 in) space between the back and the wall. Allow 5 cm (2 in) between sides/top and walls/countertops.
- Intended for free-standing installation only. Building it into a cabinet or counter can cause malfunction.

- Defrost Water Outlet: Ice thaws automatically and drains through this outlet.

Thermostat Dial and Interior Light
The thermostat dial and interior light housing are on the inner ceiling of the appliance.
Temperature Selection
Adjust temperature by turning the thermostat dial:
- Larger, darker dots indicate the coldest setting.
- Smaller, lighter dots indicate the warmest setting.
- The "OFF" position disables the cooling function.
Internal temperature can vary based on ambient temperature, quantity of items stored, and door opening frequency.

Interior Light
The interior LED light turns on when the door is opened and off when closed. If the light burns out, contact a Danby certified service technician. The appliance's functionality is not affected if the light is burned out.

Leveling Instructions
An adjustable leg at the bottom ensures the appliance is level.
- Turn the leveling leg counter-clockwise until the top of the foot touches the cabinet bottom.
- Slowly turn the leveling leg clockwise until the appliance is level.

Door Reversal Instructions
If the appliance was placed on its back or side, it must stand upright for 6 hours before plugging in to prevent internal component damage.
- Remove the worktop by unscrewing it from the back, lifting, and pulling forward. Move the hinge hole cover from the left side of the worktop to the right side.
- Remove the door spindle cover (top left of door) and the hole cover (top right of door). A flat blade screwdriver may be needed.
- Remove the upper hinge from the top right of the cabinet and remove the door.
- Remove the lower hinge hole cover (bottom left of door) and move it to the bottom right of the door.
- Remove the adjustable foot and lower hinge from the bottom right of the cabinet. Remove the solid foot and screws from the bottom left. Install the solid foot on the bottom right. Install the lower hinge and adjustable foot on the bottom left.
- Remove the hinge pin from the upper hinge. Flip the upper hinge over and install the pin on the other side.
- Install the upper hinge and door onto the cabinet.
- Install the door spindle cover on the top right of the door and the hole cover on the top left.
- Install the worktop by aligning it and pushing it back until it clicks, then reinstall the three screws.
Note: When reinstalling the door, ensure the top of the door is level with the top of the cabinet and the gasket seals properly all around.

Care & Maintenance
Cleaning
Ensure the appliance is unplugged before cleaning.
- Inside: Use a soft cloth with a solution of 1 tbsp baking soda per quart of water or mild detergent.
- Shelves: Wash removable shelves in mild detergent solution, then dry and wipe.
- Outside: Clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Door Seal Area: Keep clean with a soapy cloth. Rinse with a damp cloth and dry.
Note: Do not use cleaners with ammonia or alcohol, as they can damage the finish. Never use commercial, abrasive cleaners, or sharp objects.
Power Failure
Most power failures are corrected within hours and should not affect temperature if the door remains closed. For prolonged outages, take steps to protect contents. Wait 3-5 minutes before attempting to restart if operation was interrupted.
Defrost
This appliance has automatic defrost. Defrost water is channeled to a drip tray above the compressor, where it evaporates due to compressor heat.
Vacation
- Short Vacations (less than 3 weeks): Leave the appliance operating.
- Long Vacations (several months): Remove all items, turn off the appliance. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. Leave the door slightly open (block if necessary) to prevent odor and mold growth.
Moving
- Ensure the appliance is empty.
- Secure shelves inside with tape.
- Turn the leveling leg up to the base to avoid damage.
- Secure the door with tape.
- Keep the appliance upright during transport. Protect the exterior with a blanket or similar item.
- If placed on its back or side during transport, stand it upright for 6 hours at the destination before plugging in to avoid internal component damage.
Disposal
This appliance should not be treated as regular household waste. Take it to an appropriate collection point for recycling electrical components. Contact your local waste removal agency or government office for information on local collection points.

Limited "Carry In" Warranty
This quality product is warranted against defects in material and workmanship, provided it is used under normal operating conditions. This warranty is available only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
Terms of Warranty
- Plastic parts: Warranted for thirty (30) days from purchase date.
- First 18 months: Functional parts found defective will be repaired or replaced at warrantor's option, at no charge to the original purchaser.
To Obtain Service
Contact the dealer where the unit was purchased or the nearest authorized Danby service depot. Service must be performed by a qualified technician. Service by unauthorized personnel voids all Danby obligations. The purchaser is responsible for transporting the appliance to the authorized service depot. Transportation charges are not covered.
This warranty does not imply liability for spoilage or damage to food or other contents, whether due to appliance defects or improper use.
Exclusions
There are no other warranties, express or implied. Danby is not responsible for damages to persons or property, including the unit itself, or consequential damages arising from malfunction. By purchasing the unit, the buyer agrees to indemnify Danby against claims for damages.
General Provisions
Warranty is void if damage or repair is caused by:
- Power failure.
- Damage during transit or moving.
- Improper power supply (low voltage, defective wiring, inadequate fuses).
- Accident, alteration, abuse, misuse, inadequate air circulation, or abnormal operating conditions (extreme temperatures).
- Commercial or industrial use.
- Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostilities, acts of God (hurricanes, floods, etc.).
- Service calls for customer education.
- Improper installation (e.g., built-in installation, outdoor use not approved for such conditions, garages, patios, porches, or uninsulated/unclimate-controlled areas).
Proof of purchase date is required for warranty claims. Retain sales receipts. Present proof of purchase to the authorized service depot if warranty service is required.
