Anko Mini Crochet Kit Cow Instruction Manual
Basic Crochet Stitch Diagram
This section outlines fundamental crochet stitches required for the kit.
1. Stitch (Abbreviated 'st')
Starts with a slip knot. Loop yarn around two fingers, pull tail halfway through the loop. Insert crochet hook into the second loop and gently pull the loop onto the hook.
2. Chain Stitch (Abbreviated 'ch')
The basis for all crochet, also called a foundation chain.
3. Slip Stitch (Abbreviated 'sl st')
The smallest crochet stitch. Used for slip-stitching the ends of a foundation chain to form a ring.
4. Single Crochet (Abbreviated 'sc')
Gather yarn with hook, draw up a loop through the stitch. Wrap yarn around hook and pull through two loops, leaving one loop on the hook.
5. Increase (Abbreviated 'inc')
Add a stitch at the beginning of a row. Make 2 single crochets in the same knot.
6. Decrease (Abbreviated 'dec')
Subtract a stitch. Make a half single crochet, leaving two loops on the hook. Crochet a half single crochet in the next knot, leaving three loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through all three loops.
7. Magic Ring
An adjustable starting round for amigurumi and other patterns. Form a loop with yarn. Insert hook through loop, slide hook under the right piece of yarn from right to left, grab left yarn, pull through ring. Make a chain stitch. Place first row of stitches into the ring. Pull yarn ends to close the ring. Slip stitch into the first stitch.
8. Round (Abbreviated 'Rd')
Continues chain stitches into a circle. Each round starts with 'ch' and ends with 'sl st'.
9. Sewing
Used for connecting parts. Thread yarn through knots using a plastic needle. Create small stitches for facial features.
10. Fasten Off (Abbreviated 'F/O')
Pull yarn through the end stitch and pull out. Cut yarn.
11. Weaving In/Invisible Close
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Draw tail through the final loop on the hook and thread onto a yarn needle. Weave needle through front loops of the last round and pull tight. Weave remaining yarn into the piece.
12. Insert Your Hook Into 2nd Back Hoop
This step is crucial for specific stitches or connections.
