Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your HEMNES shelving unit:

Step 1: Prepare Side Panels

Insert 12x dowels (Part 118331) into the pre-drilled holes on the inner sides of the two main vertical panels. Ensure they are fully seated.

Step 2: Assemble Base Structure

Connect the lower horizontal base pieces to the vertical side panels. Insert 12x dowels (Part 101350) into the ends of the base pieces and align them with the corresponding holes on the side panels. Secure them.

Step 3: Attach Cam Locks

Insert 12x cam locks (Part 102533) into the large holes on the inner sides of the vertical panels, where the base pieces connect. Ensure the arrow on the cam lock points towards the incoming cam bolt.

Step 4: Insert Connecting Dowels

Insert 12x dowels (Part 101350) into the ends of the horizontal connecting pieces that will form the frame for the shelves.

Step 5: Connect Frame Pieces

Attach the horizontal connecting pieces to the vertical side panels. Use the cam locks (Part 102533) previously inserted to secure these pieces by turning them clockwise.

Step 6: Attach Shelf Supports

Insert 40x dowels (Part 101345) into the pre-drilled holes along the inner sides of the vertical panels where the shelves will rest.

Step 7: Install Vertical Supports

Attach the vertical support pieces to the main frame. Insert 4x dowels (Part 101350) into the top ends of these supports and connect them to the upper horizontal frame pieces.

Step 8: Add More Cam Locks

Insert 2x cam locks (Part 102533) into the designated holes on the vertical support pieces.

Step 9: Attach Top Panel

Place the top panel onto the assembled frame. Secure it using 6x screws (Part 101350) inserted through the top panel into the vertical supports.

Step 10: Secure Top Panel

Insert 6x cam locks (Part 102533) into the underside of the top panel to secure the vertical supports.

Step 11: Position Unit

Carefully turn the assembled unit upright.

Step 12: Attach Back Panel

Slide the back panel into the grooves on the rear of the unit. Secure it using the provided clips and 5x dowels (Part 101350) inserted into the back edge of the shelves.

Step 13: Final Securing

Secure the main structure by inserting 6x screws (Part 109571) through the back panel into the frame.

Step 14: Install Adjustable Feet

Screw the 4x adjustable feet (Part 157967) into the designated holes on the bottom of the unit.

Step 15: Level the Unit

Place the unit in its desired location. Adjust the feet (Part 157967) by turning them to ensure the unit is level and stable.

Step 16: Wall Anchoring

[Wall anchor symbol] ? For safety, it is crucial to secure the unit to the wall using the provided anti-tip hardware. Attach the bracket to the top rear of the unit using 2x screws (Part 109571) and then secure it to the wall according to wall type instructions (wall anchors may be required, not explicitly listed but implied).

Step 17: Insert Shelves

Insert the remaining shelves. Place 8x dowels (Part 104171) into the holes on the sides of the shelves. Then, slide the shelves into place, resting on the dowels already inserted into the vertical panels.
