NUX Loop Core Deluxe Owner's Manual

Introduction

Welcome to the NUX Loop Core Deluxe Pedal! This upgraded version of the original NUX Loop Core allows you to record and create music phrases and play them back as loops. Whether for practice, composition, or live gigs, the Loop Core Deluxe offers well-considered functions to inspire your creativity. Please read this manual carefully to get the most out of the unit and keep it handy for future reference.

Features

Product Interface

The Loop Core Deluxe features a clear interface for intuitive control:

Controls:

Ports:

Connections

The Loop Core Deluxe supports several connection configurations:

Application 1: Direct Output to Guitar Amplifier

This is the most common setup. Connect your guitar to the Input jack, and the To Amp Output to your guitar amplifier. If connecting to a 1x12 guitar amplifier, it is suggested to enable the frequency compensation function (press Save/Delete button before powering on the device).

Application 2: Output to Mixer, Soundcard, or Full-Range Speakers

Connect your guitar to the Input jack, and the To Mixer Output to your mixer, soundcard, or speakers. For this setup, it is recommended to enable the frequency compensation function to achieve a guitar sound with cab simulation tone.

Application 3: To Amp Output Guitar Signal, To Mixer Output Drum Machine

This configuration allows separate outputs for your guitar signal and the drum machine. The original guitar tone and loop phrase will output to the guitar amplifier via the To Amp Output, while the drum machine sound outputs to the mixer via the To Mixer Output.

Application 4: Both Jacks Output Guitar Sound and Drum Machine Sound

Use both outputs simultaneously by connecting the Loop Core Deluxe to a mixer via stereo channels. When both outputs are connected to the mixer, stereo sound is provided from both the Amp Out and Mixer Out. Enabling the frequency compensation function is recommended for optimal sound quality (press Save/Delete button before powering on the device).

Operation Instructions

Power ON/OFF

When using battery power, inserting a plug into the Output L jack automatically switches the unit on. To prevent damage to speakers or other devices, always turn down the volume and power off all connected devices before making or breaking connections. When powering up, turn on your guitar amp last. When powering down, turn off your guitar amp first.

1. Recording and Creating a Loop Phrase

1.1 Normal Recording Mode (Default)

  1. Select an empty memory location using the Up and Down buttons. A dot in the lower right corner of the display indicates saved data.
  2. RECORD: Press the foot switch to start recording a loop.
  3. OVERDUB: After recording, press the foot switch again to overdub. The sequence is typically Rec-Play-Overdub.

Note: The recording sequence can be changed to Record-Overdub-Play by holding the foot switch while powering on the unit and selecting "d" (Record-Overdub-Play) or "P" (Record-Play-Overdub) via the arrow buttons.

Note: Overdubbing requires sufficient remaining recording time. If the DUB LED blinks after attempting to overdub, it indicates insufficient space.

1.1.4 STOP:

During playback or overdubbing, double-press the foot switch (within 1 second) to stop.

1.2 Auto Recording Mode

This mode allows for temporary automatic recording:

  1. In an empty memory slot, press and hold the STOP/MODES button for 2 seconds. The display will show "rd". Press the STOP/MODES button again within 2 seconds to change it to "A" to enable Auto Recording mode.
  2. In this mode, the first press of the foot switch enters recording standby (REC LED blinks). Recording automatically starts upon detecting input sound signal.
  3. Overdubbing and playback function the same as in normal recording mode.

Note: Auto Recording mode is temporary and applies only to the current memory location. Switching to another memory number reverts to Normal Recording mode.

1.3 Undo/Redo/Clear

1.4 Stop Modes

Choose how the loop playback ends:

1.5 Switching Memory Numbers/Loops

Use the Up and Down buttons or an optional extensional pedal to switch between memory numbers/loops. When switching during playback, the chosen phrase number blinks. The new loop starts playing when the current loop ends, providing a seamless transition for creating backing tracks.

1.6 Save a Loop to Memory

Save your created loop to one of the 99 memory locations (up to 8 hours total recording time):

  1. Short press the SAVE button; the memory number and "SA" will blink.
  2. Use Up or Down buttons to select an empty memory location (no dot in the lower right corner). Press SAVE again to confirm. Pressing other buttons abandons saving.
  3. All data (recordings, stop mode, tempo, rhythm pattern) is saved, except for the recording mode.

Note: You cannot save to a memory location that already contains data. The system will guide you to the closest empty location.

1.7 Copy a Loop Phrase

Copy a saved loop to another memory location:

  1. Select the memory loop to copy.
  2. Short press the SAVE/DELETE button; the memory number blinks.
  3. Use Up or Down buttons to select an empty memory location. Press SAVE/DELETE again to confirm.

Note: If there isn't enough memory, the display will show "FD".

1.8 Delete a Memory

  1. Press and hold the SAVE/DELETE button for two seconds; "d" will blink on the display.
  2. Press SAVE/DELETE again to confirm deletion, or press any other button to abandon.
  3. All data in the selected memory will be deleted.
