1. Product Overview
The N9 Small law enforcement recorder is a professional mini-type body camera, newly released by BOBLOV. This product can capture video, photos, and audio recordings. It features stable performance, excellent quality, a compact size, an ergonomic design, easy operation, and is convenient to carry.
It is widely used in law enforcement sectors such as public security and police departments, urban management, and can also be utilized for forensics, pro-curatorial work, industrial and commercial applications, taxation, customs, maritime services, health, environmental protection, and outdoor activities.
2. Structure
The body worn camera has the following components:
Front View:
- Status indicator light.
- Infrared night vision lights.
- Microphone input.
- Warning light.
- Microphone.
- Audio output.
Back View:
- Accesses menu settings.
- Confirms selections.
- Returns to the previous screen or cancels.
- Starts/stops video recording.
Left Side View:
- Port for data transfer and charging.
- Small hole for device reset.
- Turns the device on/off or controls the screen.
Right Side View:
- Takes still photos.
- Starts/stops audio recording.
- Navigates up or activates a function.
- Navigates down or activates a function.
3. Basic Operation
3.1 Power/Screen On/Off Button
- Long press the button to turn the camera on or off.
- Short press the button to turn the LCD screen on or off when the camera is on.
3.2 Video Record Button
- In power-off status: Long press the button to start recording directly in emergency situations. The red indicator light will flash slowly. Press the button again to save the current file and return to standby.
- In standby mode: Press the button to start recording, and then press the button again to save the recording.
3.3 Photo Button / Night Vision Button
- Short press the button to take a photo when in standby mode.
- Short press the button to take a single snapshot image while in video recording status. Note: There is no visual or audio cue to confirm a photo has been taken; pressing the button saves the image.
- Short press the button to turn the IR night vision light on or off.
3.4 Audio Recording Button
- In standby mode: Short press the button to start recording audio. Press it again to stop recording and save the audio file.
- In power-off status: Long press the button for 3 seconds to boot the camera and automatically record audio. Short press again to stop recording and save the audio file.
3.5 Motion Detection
The menu includes a [motion detection] option. When enabled, the camera will automatically record if it detects movement from a person or object within approximately 1 meter. Recording stops automatically when the movement ceases. This function helps save memory and power.
3.6 Car Record
The menu offers a [vehicle mode] option. When enabled, the camera will start recording video as soon as it is powered on. This function is intended for use while driving. Do not enable this function while charging, as it may prevent the camera from charging fully.
3.7 Video Fragment
The camera has an automatic saving function that records video in segments. Users can set segment lengths to 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes. It is advised to set the maximum segment length to 15 minutes to reduce the risk of losing video data.
3.8 Sound Record
The menu includes a [sound record] option. If enabled, recorded video will be synchronized with audio. If disabled, audio will not be recorded during video recording.
3.9 Stealth Mode
The menu offers a [stealth mode] option. When activated, the indicator lights will not flash during recording, and button sounds are disabled. This mode is designed for discreet recording.
3.10 Machine ID and Police ID
The menu includes a [Machine ID and Police ID] option. This allows users to edit the machine number and police officer number displayed on the camera. The bottom left corner of the screen shows the data number; the first 5 digits represent the machine number, and the last 6 digits represent the police number, both of which can be edited.
3.11 Change the Password
In the menu settings, you can set a password to protect your files. Videos can still be transferred to a PC or laptop if the password is known. The default password is "000000".
3.12 Playback Mode
In camera standby mode, press the
button to enter the playback menu. You can select video, picture, or audio files and use the up and down buttons to navigate through playback options.3.13 Reset Function
If the camera becomes unresponsive due to improper operation or other issues, use a sharp object (like a curved needle) to gently press the reset button located in a small hole on the side of the USB port to restart and reset the device.
3.14 Delete the files
In the playback menu interface, long press the
key to selectively delete files.3.15 Red-Blue Light Flashing Warning
In standby mode, long press the
button to turn this warning light function on or off.4. File Management
- With the camera powered on, connect it to a computer using a USB cable.
- The camera is plug-and-play and compatible with Windows 98 / 2000 / XP / Vista / W7 / W8 / W10.
- Photo and video files are located in the DCIM folder.
- Audio recording files are located in the WAV folder.
5. Indicator Introduction
- Red light flashes: Recording.
- Green light flashes: Audio recording.
- Steady green light: Standby mode.
- Steady red light: Charging. The red light turns off when fully charged.
6. Format SD Card
In standby mode: Long press the
button continuously, then press the button. The camera screen will display "SD CARD FORMAT IS PROCESSING" and then "Format sd card complete" upon successful completion.7. Specification

9. Troubleshooting
Device is unable to boot and buttons do not work:
- Connect the device to a power supply and press the power button to check if it powers on.
- Charge the device for 2 hours and see if the problem is resolved.
- Check if the charger and connection cable are functioning correctly.
- Reset the device using the reset button and check if the problem is solved.
- If the problem persists, contact the seller or the BOBLOV after-sales team.
The camera cannot be charged:
- Do not use laptops or computers to charge the camera. Use the original USB camera adapter or a compatible phone USB adapter for power.
- Check if the camera is in car record mode. If so, disable this mode and try charging again.
