Precautions
- Read and understand all safety guidelines and use information.
- Recommended to use the original lithium battery.
- Please Use the charging device with the output voltage 5V, 500mA-1000A to avoid damaging the lithium battery and device.
- If the lithium battery will not be used for an extended period of time, please remove it, store it separately, and remember to charge it once a month.
- Do not allow the radio to come into direct contact with rain, moisture, or any liquid drops.
- Avoid direct heat sources. Do not bake or blow dry the product.
- Do not expose the device to direct sunshine for an extended period of time.
- Do not drop the product or applying heavy pressure.

The RETEKESS V115 features the following controls and indicators:
- FM/SW antenna: Extendable antenna for radio reception.
- Display: Shows information such as frequency, song title, and menu options.
- MIC: Built-in microphone for recording.
- Speaker: Located on the front panel for audio output.
- Power switch: Turns the device on/off.
- MODE key: Cycles through different modes (Radio, Music, Recording).

Introduction
The RETEKESS V115 is an integrated digital electric tuning radio that can play MP3 and WMA files. It offers multilingual menu operation, synchronous lyric display, and supports MIC Recording, Radio Recording, and LINE IN Recording. It features stereo earphone output and a rechargeable lithium battery, which can be replaced with a larger capacity BL-5C battery for extended playtime.
Definition of Key Operations
There are three ways to operate the keys:
- Short press: Press the key once to activate a function.
- Long press: Press and hold for more than 1.2 seconds; the function starts and works once.
- Hold on: Press and hold the key until stopping; the function repeats at a certain frequency (e.g., fast forward/backward).
Battery Power Supply
Install/Replace the Battery
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert the lithium battery according to the polarity indicated.
- Close the battery cover.
- Before first use, charge the lithium battery for 6 hours. After the first charge, charging time is approximately 4 hours.
- It is recommended to use the provided 5V, 500mA charger.
Charging the Lithium Battery
When charging, the device displays a "Charging Screen". A flashing battery power icon indicates charging is in progress. A solid battery icon indicates the battery is fully charged.
It is suggested to continue charging for 1-2 hours to ensure the battery reaches maximum capacity.
Battery Consumption Indicator:

Charging Steps:
- Use an external adapter (not included, 5V DC/500mA, USB port).
- Install the lithium battery.
- Connect the Micro-USB cable to the radio and the other end to a USB adapter.
- During charging, the battery symbol moves from right to left and stops when fully charged. Disconnect the radio and adapter.
Note: Alternating current may interfere with radio signals during charging; using the radio while charging is not recommended.
Do not use AC adapter or computer to power the radio when the battery is unloaded. If the radio is not used for a long time, unload or fully charge the battery every 2 months.
Charged by PC:
- Connect the radio to a computer using the provided USB cable.
- The battery symbol moves from right to left during charging.
- The battery symbol stops moving when fully charged.
Radio Operation
Power On/Off Radio:
- Long press the [power] button to turn on the device.
- Extend the antenna.
- Press the AM/FM or SW key to select the band.
- Long press the [power] button again to turn off the device.
Automatically Search and Store Station:
In radio mode, long press the [play/pause] key to enter Automatic search and store Stations. Available stations are automatically numbered and stored by frequency. After storing, press the [next] or [previous] keys to invoke and listen to stored stations. If an interfering station is saved, long press the [delete] key to remove it.
Saving a Radio Station Manually
A. Search and Save: In radio mode, long press the [next] or [previous] key to search stations forward or backward. When a station is received, search stops and playback begins.
B. Direct Frequency Input: Enter the station frequency (e.g., 88.5MHz) using the numeric keys (8, 8, 5) and press [play/pause] to confirm. The radio will tune to 88.5MHz.
*AM frequencies: numbers that are 522 + multiples of 9 are valid; for North America, 520 + multiples of 10 are valid.
C. Shortwave Operation: Press the SW key to cycle through metric waves (e.g., 60m, 49m, 41m...). After selecting a wave band, long press the [next] key to search stations.
To save a station manually (using methods A, B, or C): Long press the MEMO "5" key. When "CH00" flashes, use numeric keys to enter the storage location, press "PLAY" to prompt saving, then press "PLAY" again to confirm storage.
Note: There is a limit to the number of preset stations per band (FM: 80, MW: 60, SW: 300).
AM Stepping Set
In AM radio mode, long press MENU, navigate to the system menu, press [next] or [previous] to select AM Stepping, choose 9 KHz or 10 KHz (North America), and press [play/pause] to confirm.
Deleting a Radio Station
Invoke a radio station, then long press the [delete] key. The display will show a confirmation. Press [play/pause] to confirm deletion. If the operation is not completed within 5 seconds, the system returns to radio mode.
Muting the Radio
In radio mode, press the [play/pause] key. The mute icon will flash, indicating mute mode. Press [play/pause] again to deactivate mute.
Music Play Operation
- Insert a TF card with MP3 or WMA music files.
- Press the [power] key to turn on the device.
- Press the MODE key to enter playback mode. The screen displays music name, format, time elapsed, etc.
- Press the [next] or [previous] keys to select songs, or use numeric keys to select a song by number and press [play/pause] to confirm.
- Press the Repeat key to repeat a song ( [repeat song icon] ) or repeat all songs ( [repeat all icon] ).
Play Setup
Factory settings are recommended; adjustments are not advised.
- In playback mode, long press the [play/pause] key to access the main playback screen.
- Main Directory: Select to choose songs from folders.
- Play Mode: Repeat All, Repeat One, Repeat Directory (play songs only from the selected folder).
- Sound Effect: NATURAL, POP, ROCK, JAZZ, COUNTRY, HEAVY BASS.
- Return to main screen.
- Press [next] or [previous] to select sub-menu items, press [play/pause] to enter sub-menus. Press [next] or [previous] to select sub-items, then press [play/pause] to confirm. Setup will be successful, and the system will exit setup mode.
Computer Data Transmission
Turn on the device and connect it to a computer via Micro USB cable. Pressing any key on the device will automatically install the driver software. The device screen will show a computer connected icon. The computer can read, copy, and delete files on the TF card (acting as a card reader) and can also be used as an external USB speaker. (Compatibility may vary with computer configurations).
Recording Operation
MIC Recording:
Insert TF card, turn on device, press MODE to enter playback mode. Long press REC to enter MIC recording mode. During recording, press REC to finish and exit.
LINE IN Recording:
Connect external audio cable ("Line in" is automatically identified). Ensure an external song is playing. Adjust external audio volume and long press REC to enter "LINE IN Recording". Press REC to finish and exit.
Radio Recording:
Press FM to enter radio mode and tune to a station. Long press REC to enter radio recording mode. During recording, press [play/pause] to pause, press [play/pause] again to resume. Press REC to finish and exit recording mode.
*In recording mode, volume is locked to the level set before recording. Adjusting the volume key will not change it.
Recording File Invoking Operation
Long press the REC FILE "0" key to invoke recording files. Press [next] or [previous] to select a file. "MIC" indicates MIC recording, "LIN" indicates LINE IN recording, "RAD" indicates Radio recording.
Recording File Deletion Operation
Long press REC FILE "0" key to invoke a file. Press [next] or [previous] to select the file to delete. Long press the [delete] key. A prompt "Are you sure to delete the file" will appear. Press [play/pause] to delete the file.
Key Locking Operation
Long press the MODE key. A lock icon appears, indicating key lock mode. Other keys will not function. Long press MODE again to unlock; an unlock icon will appear.
System Setup
1. Long press the MENU key to enter System Setup. (The system returns to the main screen automatically if no operation occurs within 5 seconds.)
System Screen Options:
- a. Auto power: Automatic shutdown time can be set from 0-90 minutes.
- b. Contrast: Screen contrast ratio can be set from level 1-15.
- c. Back light Time: Backlight can be set to Normal ON, OFF, or a duration.
- d. Language: Chinese/English/Spanish.
- e. Record set: Compression ratio (Simple record 64kbps / Quality record 96 kbps / Super record 128kbps).
- f. Back: Return to the main screen.
Note: For customer convenience, the default language is English.
2. After entering System Setup, press [next] or [previous] to select a sub-item, press [play/pause] to enter the sub-menu. Press [next] or [previous] to select a sub-item, then press [play/pause] to confirm and finish setup.
Sleep Shutdown Setup Operation
Enter System Setup, press [next] or [previous] to select "Auto Power", press [play/pause] to enter the sub-item. Press [next] or [previous] to set the time (00-90 minutes), and press [play/pause] to confirm. A timing shutdown icon will appear when sleep shutdown is successfully set. The timer counts down, and the device shuts down automatically. Setting time to 00 or turning off the power switch cancels the sleep shutdown function.
Trouble Shooting
1. Q: Cannot turn on the radio.
A: Battery may be drained; please charge the battery.
2. Q: Cannot connect to a computer.
A: Connect while the radio is off. The USB cable might be damaged; try another one.
3. Q: Speaker does not sound.
A: Check if the volume is too low; turn it up.
4. Q: Cannot play audio from Micro SD (TF) card or USB drive.
A: Check card/USB drive compatibility. Try another card/drive. Files may be damaged or incorrectly formatted; delete and retry.
5. Q: Cannot charge the radio.
A: Check if the external adapter or USB cable is connected correctly. Check if the adapter or USB cable is damaged.
6. Q: Why does the radio sound from the speaker when using earbuds?
A: Earbuds with MIC function are incompatible. Try earbuds without MIC function. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
7. Q: Why is SW reception not good?
A: Shortwave reception is sensitive to time of day, sunspot cycles, weather, and atmospheric conditions. Reception is better at night when shortwave bands are active. Signal strength is weaker indoors than outdoors. Extend the antenna, listen at night, and outdoors for best results.

Protect your hearing
- Use the lowest volume necessary for your task.
- Increase volume only in noisy environments.
- Lower volume before using headphones or earbuds.
- Limit the duration of high-volume headphone/earbud use.
- When using the radio without headphones/earbuds, do not place the speaker directly against your ear.
Note: Exposure to loud noises for extended periods can temporarily or permanently affect hearing. Louder volumes require less exposure time. Hearing damage may not be immediately detectable and can be cumulative.
