Introduction
The RETEKESS V115 is a pocket-sized, full-band stereo radio recorder with AM, FM, and SW capabilities. It features digital tuning, MP3 and WMA playback, multilingual menu options, and synchronous lyric display. The device supports MIC recording, radio recording, and LINE IN recording. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery, which can be replaced with a higher capacity BL-5C battery for extended playtime.
Precautions
- Read and understand all safety guidelines and usage information.
- It is recommended to use the original lithium battery.
- Use a charging device with an output voltage of 5V, 500mA-1000mA to avoid damaging the battery and device.
- If the lithium battery will not be used for an extended period, remove it, store it separately, and charge it once a month.
- Avoid contact with rain, moisture, or any liquid drops.
- Avoid direct heat sources; do not bake or blow dry the product.
- Do not expose the device to direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Do not drop the product or apply heavy pressure.
System Menu
The system menu allows for various settings:
- Auto power: Set automatic shutdown time (0-90 minutes).
- Contrast: Adjust screen contrast (1-15 level).
- Back light Time: Set backlight to Normal ON, OFF, or a duration.
- Language: Select language (Chinese, English, Spanish).
- Record set: Choose compression ratio for recording (Simple 64kbps, Quality 96kbps, Super 128kbps).
- AM Stepping set: Select AM tuning step (9 KHz or 10 KHz).
- Back: Return to the main screen.
Screen Display
TF Music Play Screen
Displays information such as sound effect mode, repeat mode, TF card status, elapsed time, file format, battery power, song name, and synchronized lyrics.
Radio Screen
Displays radio band, station name, mute status, battery power, and radio frequency.

Battery Power Supply
Installing/Replacing the Battery
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert the lithium battery according to the polarity indicated.
- Close the battery cover.
- Charge the lithium battery for 6 hours before first use. Subsequent charges take approximately 4 hours.
- Use the provided 5V, 500mA charger.
Charging the Lithium Battery
Connect the radio to a USB adapter using the Micro-USB cable. The battery icon on the display will indicate charging status. It is recommended to charge the battery when the device is off. Charging may interfere with radio reception.
Battery Consumption Indicator
Displays battery level as Full, Medium, Low, or Exhausted.
Radio Operation
Powering On/Off
Long press the Power button to turn the device on or off.
Tuning and Saving Stations
- Extend the antenna.
- Press the AM/FM or SW key to select the band.
- Automatic Scan and Store: In radio mode, long press the ► button to automatically scan and store stations. Press ►► or ◄◄ to cycle through stored stations. Long press DEL to delete an unwanted station.
- Manual Tuning:
- Press ►► or ◄◄ to search stations.
- Directly input frequency using numeric keys and confirm with ►.
- For SW, cycle through metric waves and then search.
- To save a station manually, long press the MEMO key, enter the storage location using numeric keys, and press PLAY to save.
- AM Stepping Set: Access via MENU to set AM tuning step (9 KHz or 10 KHz).
- Delete Station: Recall a station and long press DEL to delete.
- Mute: Press ► to mute/unmute the radio.
Music Play Operation
- Insert a TF card with MP3 or WMA files.
- Turn on the device using the Power button.
- Press MODE to enter playback mode.
- Use ►► or ◄◄ keys or numeric keys to select songs.
- Press REPEAT to cycle through repeat modes (repeat one song, repeat all songs).
Play Setup
Access Play Setup via long pressing ► in playback mode to configure:
- Main Directory: Select songs from folders.
- Play Mode: Repeat All, Repeat One, Repeat Directory.
- Sound effect: Choose from NATURAL, POP, ROCK, JAZZ, COUNTRY, HEAVY BASS.
- Return to the main screen.
Computer Data Transmission
Connect the device to a computer via Micro USB. The computer will install drivers automatically. The device can be used as a card reader or external USB speaker.
Recording Operation
- MIC Recording: Insert TF card, turn on device, press MODE, then long press REC. Press REC again to finish.
- LINE IN Recording: Connect external audio cable, adjust volume, long press REC to start recording. Press REC to finish.
- Radio Recording: Tune to a station, long press REC to start recording. Press ► to pause/resume, press REC to finish. Volume is locked during recording.
Recording File Invoking and Deletion
Long press REC FILE "0" to access recordings. Use ◄◄ or ►► to select files. Long press DEL to delete files.
Key Locking Operation
Long press MODE to lock/unlock the keys. A lock icon will appear when locked.
System Setup
Long press MENU to enter System Setup. Settings include Auto Power, Contrast, Back light Time, Language, Record set, and Back.
Sleep Shutdown Setup Operation
In System Setup, select "Auto Power" and set the time (00-90 minutes). A shutdown icon will appear when set.
Trouble Shooting
- Cannot turn on radio: Check battery charge.
- Cannot connect to computer: Ensure radio is off, try a different USB cable.
- No sound from speaker: Check volume level.
- Cannot play audio from TF card/USB: Check card/USB compatibility, file format, or try different files.
- Cannot charge radio: Check adapter and USB cable connections and condition.
- Radio sound from speaker with earbuds: Earbuds with MIC function may cause issues. Try earbuds without MIC.
- Poor SW reception: Shortwave reception is affected by time of day, solar cycles, weather. Best reception is often at night, outdoors, with the antenna extended.
