Features
The Proaim BMP60 R Pro Long Blimp Microphone Windscreen features the following components:
- Blimp Cage: Minimizes wind interference for clear outdoor audio.
- End Cap: Modular end caps keep the microphone safe and firmly in place.
- Blimp Extension: Increases cage length to support long microphones and provides enhanced wind protection.
- Locking Clip: Allows fast and secure setup or removal.
- Ratchet Knob: Enables easy angle adjustment for better handling.
- Pistol Grip Handle: Ensures comfortable handheld use during long shoots.
Blimp Mic Windshield Setup
- Hold the blimp cage firmly with one hand. With the other hand, gently twist and pull off the end cap.
- Adjusting the Pistol Grip Handle: Loosen the ratchet knob and then pull down the pistol grip handle.
- Once the handle is in position, tighten the ratchet knob to securely lock it in place.
- Open the locking clip on one side of the blimp cage.
- Repeat the process by opening the locking clip on the opposite side of the blimp cage.
- Slide the mic holder rod out of the blimp cage.
Mic Assembly
NOTE: The mic holder comes with rubber and clamps pre-attached. If any rubber or clamp breaks, you can replace it using the spare parts provided.
- Insert the microphone (Not Included) securely into the mic holder.
- Slide the mic holder rod into the cage until it is firmly seated.
Routing the Mic Cable
- Pass the mic cable through the center of the locking clips.
- Tighten the locking clips securely.
- Attach the end cap to the blimp cage and tighten it securely.
- Route the internal XLR cable through the pistol grip handle for neat cable management.
Attaching to Boom Pole
Note: This ergonomic handle is designed for comfortable handheld operation.
- The handle features a 3/8"-16 threaded base for mounting a boom pole.
- Attach the boom pole (Not Included) to the pistol grip handle.
- Connect the mic's XLR connector to the boom pole's XLR connector.
- The microphone's XLR connector is now properly connected to the boom pole's XLR connector.
Detaching Mic Connectors and Handle
- Disconnect the boom pole's XLR connectors from the mic's XLR connectors.
- Detach the boom pole from the pistol grip handle.
- Pull out the mic cable from the pistol grip handle.
- Loosen the ratchet knob and remove it.
- Take off the handle locking plate from the pistol grip.
- Finally, detach the handle from the blimp cage.
Boom Pole Adapter Assembly
Feature: This is a shorter attachment with the same 3/8"-16 thread. It's used to mount the blimp cage directly to a boom pole without the long pistol grip. It reduces total length and weight – ideal for extended boom use.
- Insert the screw into the boom pole adapter.
- Attach the spring to the installed screw.
- Insert the screw with spring into the threaded hole of the boom pole adapter.
- Attach the handle locking plate to the opposite side of the boom pole adapter.
- Place the washer onto the boom pole adapter.
- Secure the ratchet knob onto the boom pole adapter and tighten properly.
Features: The boom pole adapter includes two mounting options — 3/8" and 5/8".
- The boom pole adapter comes with a 3/8" mounting.
- To use the 5/8" mounting, remove the grub screw with a screwdriver.
- Once the grub screw is removed, the adapter converts to the 5/8" size.
XLR Holder Attachment
- Attach the XLR holder to the boom pole adapter.
- Attach the boom pole to the XLR holder (using the 3/8" mounting).
- Connect the mic's XLR connector to the boom pole's XLR connector.
- Secure the XLR connectors inside the XLR holder.
Modular Windjammer Assembly (40cm)
A modular windjammer reduces unwanted noise for clearer audio.
- Begin by unzipping the 40cm modular windjammer.
- Insert the boom pole into the windjammer.
- Zip up the modular windjammer.
Detaching Modular Windjammer, Mic Connectors and Handle
- Remove the boom pole from the windjammer.
- Zip up the modular windjammer.
- Disconnect the boom pole's XLR connector from the mic's XLR connector.
- Remove the mic cable from the XLR holder.
- Hold the blimp cage firmly with one hand. With the other hand, gently twist and pull off the end cap.
- Remove the mic cable through the center of the locking clips.
Assembly Blimp Extension
- Open the locking clip on the opposite side of the blimp cage.
- Slide the mic holder rod out of the blimp cage.
- Remove the mic from the mic holder.
- Insert the mic securely into the mic holder.
- Slide the mic holder rod into the cage until it is firmly seated.
- Open the locking clip on the opposite side of the blimp cage.
Blimp Extension Attachment
- Hold the blimp extension firmly with one hand. With the other hand, gently twist and pull off the end cap.
- Pull the mic cable out of the blimp extension.
- Attach the blimp extension to the blimp cage.
- Pass the mic cable through the center of the locking clips.
- Attach the end cap to the blimp extension and tighten it securely.
- Connect the mic's XLR connector to the boom pole XLR connector.
- Secure the XLR connectors inside the XLR holder.
Attaching 60cm Windjammer
- Unzip the 60cm modular windjammer.
- Insert the boom pole into the modular windjammer.
- Zip up the modular windjammer.
- Your setup is ready for use.
Warranty and Liability
Warranty: Proaim offers a one-year warranty for its products from the date of purchase. Within this period, Proaim will repair the product without charge for labor or parts. The warranty does not cover transportation costs or damage caused by misuse or accidental damage. Warranty repairs are subject to inspection and evaluation by Proaim.
Liability: Proaim is not liable for damage caused by products not supplied by Proaim, or from mishandling in transit, accident, misuse, neglect, lack of care of the product, or service by anyone other than Proaim.
