Casio Releases PRO TREK Outdoor Watch with Carbon Bezel
Full-Fledged Piece of Outdoor Gear to Support Activities in the Mountains, Rivers and Seas
Basel, March 20, 2019 – Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced today the latest addition to the PRO TREK series of outdoor watches. The PRW-7000X is a special release for Baselworld that features a carbon bezel. A limited edition of 1,300 watches will be sold worldwide.
The new PRW-7000X boasts 20-bar water resistance, equalling the highest specification in the PRO TREK series. The watch is based on the PRW-7000, designed for rugged use across rivers and seas. The PRW-7000X features a bold-looking bezel made from carbon fibre materials, known for its light weight and rigidity, commonly used in outdoor gear like fishing poles. Carbon fibre sheets are layered and hardened before being cut for the bezel. The index marks and crown are finished in a new rose-gold hue, enhancing the watch's stylish design.
The watch includes a Neon Illuminator for visibility in the dark, featuring a special red exclusive to this Baselworld model. This unique red color, developed with CASIO's original technology for eye comfort, was inspired by the dedication of anglers.
For water-based activities, the CASIO PRO TREK PRW-7000X is equipped with barometric pressure/altitude and compass bearing sensors, and a tide graph function indicating high tides. A fishing time function suggests optimal fishing times, displayed on the LCD. The lower right in-dial serves as an indicator for barometric pressure/altitude trends, bearing memory, and tide graph information, utilizing a fan-shaped indicator hand. The watch is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, reinforcing its status as a full-fledged piece of outdoor gear.
