This document provides instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of the Dyson SV10K vacuum cleaner.
Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your Dyson vacuum cleaner:
- Attach the vacuum tool to the end of the wand, depending on use.
Filter Maintenance:
Wash filters with cold water at least every month. Ensure filters are completely dry before reinserting.

Visit the Dyson website to register your full parts and labour guarantee online at www.dyson.com or www.kr.dyson.com.
Important Safety Instructions
Before using this appliance, read all instructions and cautionary markings in the user manual and on the appliance.
General Safety Precautions:
- This Dyson appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised.
- Do not allow children to use the appliance as a toy.
- Use only as described in the Dyson User manual.
- Suitable for dry locations ONLY. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not handle the plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Do not use with a damaged cable or plug.
- If the appliance is not working as it should, or has been dropped, damaged, or exposed to water, do not use it and contact the Dyson Helpline.
- Do not stretch or strain the cable. Keep the cable away from heated surfaces and sharp edges.
- Do not unplug by pulling the cable; grasp the plug. Extension cables are not recommended.
- Do not use to pick up water or combustible liquids.
- Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking.
- Keep hair, clothing, fingers, and body parts away from openings and moving parts.
- Do not put any object into openings. Keep openings free of dust, lint, and hair.
- Use only Dyson recommended accessories and replacement parts.
- Do not use without the clear bin and filter(s) in place.
- Unplug the charger when not in use for extended periods.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Do not install, charge, or use the appliance outdoors, in a bathroom, or near a pool.
- Use only Dyson chargers and batteries.
- FIRE WARNING: Do not place the product on or near a cooker or hot surface, and do not incinerate.
- Always turn 'OFF' the appliance before connecting or disconnecting the motorised brush bar.
- FIRE WARNING: Do not apply any fragrance or scented product to the filter(s) as chemicals can be flammable.

Prohibited Actions (Visual Icons Replaced with Text):
- Do not use near naked flames.
- Do not store or charge near heat sources.
- Do not pick up water or liquids.
- Do not pick up burning objects.
- Do not put hands near the brush bar when the appliance is in use.
- Do not place on or near the cooker.
Operation
Power Mode and Run Time:
- Max Mode: Up to 7 minutes.
- Powerful Suction (Normal Mode): 25 minutes.
- Powerful Suction (Normal Mode with accessory): 30 minutes.
- Powerful Suction (Normal Mode with accessory): 40 minutes.
Recharging on the Dock:
Place the vacuum cleaner onto the docking station for charging.
Lights During Charging:
- Blue flashing lights indicate charging.
- Solid blue light indicates fully charged.
- Red flashing lights indicate a battery or charger fault. Contact the Dyson Helpline.
Emptying the Clear Bin
To empty the clear bin:
- Lift the lever upwards until the base of the clear bin opens automatically.
- Push the cyclone back into the clear bin and manually close the base of the clear bin.
Cleaning the Clear Bin:
Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the charger. Remove the wand and floor tool. Remove the cyclone by releasing the lever and pressing the button behind it. Detach the clear bin by releasing the red catch at the base. Clean the clear bin with a damp cloth only. Do not use detergents or put it in a dishwasher. Ensure it is completely dry before replacing.
Washable Parts
Washing the Brush Bar:
Disconnect from charger. Turn cleaner head upside down. Push end cap upwards, pull out brush bar. Remove end cap (do not wash). Wash brush bar under running water, gently rubbing to remove lint/dirt. Stand upright and leave to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours. Reattach end cap. Slide brush bar back into cleaner head, ensuring end cap is in the open position, then push end cap until it clips securely closed.
Washing the Filters:
Filter A (Pre-motor filter): Disconnect from charger. Lift filter out of the top of the appliance. Wash with cold water only, running water over the outside until clear. Squeeze and twist to remove excess water. Leave to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours. Refit the dry filter.
Filter B (Post-motor filter): Twist anti-clockwise to open and pull away. Wash inside under cold running water, rotating to cover all pleats. Tap gently to remove debris. Repeat 4-5 times. Place upright and leave to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours. Refit by twisting clockwise until it clicks.
Washing the Light Pipe Crevice Tool:
Wash with cold water. Ensure it is completely dry before use.
Blockages - Automatic Cut-Out
The machine has an automatic cut-out if a part becomes blocked. The motor will pulse before cutting out. Allow the machine to cool before checking for blockages. Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the charger before checking. Clear any blockages and refit all parts securely before using. Clearing blockages is not covered by your guarantee.
Looking for Blockages:
Disconnect from charger. Allow to cool. Beware of sharp objects. To check the main body, remove the clear bin and cyclone. For stubborn blockages, refer to illustrations. If an obstruction cannot be cleared, brush bars may need to be removed as per the instructions for washing the brush bar.
Charging and Storing
The machine switches off if battery temperature is below 10°C (50°F). Do not charge and then move to a cold area for storage. To prolong battery life, avoid recharging immediately after a full discharge; allow to cool. Avoid using the machine with the battery flush to a surface.
Battery Safety Instructions
If the battery needs replacing, contact the Dyson Helpline. Use only Dyson chargers. In case of battery leakage, avoid contact with liquid, wash skin with soap and water, expose to fresh air if inhaled, flush eyes with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Dispose of battery according to local regulations.
Caution: Battery may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not short contacts, heat, incinerate, disassemble, or keep away from children.

Disposal Information
Dyson products are made from high-grade recyclable materials. Recycle where possible. Remove the battery before disposal and dispose of it according to local regulations. Dispose of exhausted filters according to local regulations.

Limited 2-Year Guarantee
What is Covered: Repair or replacement of the Dyson machine due to faulty materials, workmanship, or function within two years of purchase. Valid only in the country of purchase.
What is Not Covered: Accidental damage, misuse, neglect, careless operation, use for non-domestic purposes, use of non-genuine parts, faulty installation, repairs by unauthorized parties, blockages, normal wear and tear, use on rubble/ash/plaster, reduced battery life due to age/use.
Summary of Cover: Guarantee effective from purchase/delivery date. Proof of purchase required. Work carried out by Dyson or authorized agents. Replaced parts become Dyson property. Guarantee period is not extended by repairs.
