Assembling Your Machine

You can register your machine using the serial number found on the bottom of the machine.

Assembly Steps:

  2. Attach the cleaner head to the wand.
  3. Ensure all connections click securely into place.

Getting Started

Fully charge both batteries before using the machine for the first time.

Power Modes:

  • Eco: Maximum run time for longer cleans.
  • Auto: Optimum balance of power and run time. Automatically adjusts motor speed between floor types when the High Torque XL cleaner head is attached (Dyson DLS™ technology).
  • Boost: Intensive cleaning for ground-in dirt.

Caring for Your Floors

  • Check that the underside of the cleaner head or tool is clean and free from any objects that may cause damage.
  • Before vacuuming, check the manufacturer's recommended cleaning instructions for your flooring, rugs, and carpets.
  • The brush bar may damage certain carpet types and floors. If fuzzing occurs, vacuum without the motorised floor tool and consult your flooring manufacturer.

Alerts

  • Filter: The filter is not fitted correctly or needs cleaning.
  • Blockage: A blockage needs to be removed from the machine.

Charging Your Machine

Fully charge your new machine before first use and after every clean. This helps the battery monitoring system learn and accurately display remaining run time.

Connect the charger directly to the machine or place it in the dock. Blue LEDs on the battery flash during charging and remain lit for 5 seconds when fully charged. The display shows 100% when fully charged.

The machine will not operate if the ambient temperature is below 10°C (50°F) to protect the motor and battery.

Changing Your Click-In Battery

Alternate batteries to maintain even performance. To remove a battery, support it with your hand, press the red battery release button, and slide it off the handle. Place the battery on charge. To install a battery, slide it onto the handle until it clicks securely.

Emptying Your Bin

Empty the bin as soon as the dirt reaches the MAX level. Do not overfill, as dirt reaching the filter may require more frequent maintenance.

  1. Press the red wand release button and pull the wand away from the bin.
  2. Hold the machine downwards over the bin. Firmly push the red bin release button to open the bin base and empty the dirt. The base will not open if the button is not fully pushed.
  3. To minimize dust contact, cover the clear bin tightly in a dust-proof bag while emptying. Remove the bin carefully, seal the bag, and dispose.
  4. Close the bin by pushing the bin base upwards until it clicks into place.

Cleaning Your Bin

Empty the bin first. Press the red button on the bin runner to release and slide the bin off. Clean the bin with a damp cloth only. Ensure the bin and seals are completely dry before replacing. Refit the bin by inserting the spine onto the runner and pushing the bin base upwards until it clicks. Do not put the bin in a dishwasher or use detergents, polishes, or air fresheners.

Washing Your Filter

Regularly clean filters to maintain performance. The LCD display will alert you when the filter unit needs washing. Wash at least once a month or when alerted.

  1. Wash the filter unit in cold water only. Hold the filter unit with the foam element downwards under a cold water tap and rinse the pleated paper element.
  2. Ensure the filter unit is completely dry before refitting. Position the filter unit in place on the main body and twist clockwise until it clicks.

The filter may require more frequent washing if vacuuming fine dust or using Boost mode. Do not put any part of the machine in a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, microwave, or near a naked flame.

Washing Your High Torque XL Brush Bar

Check and wash your brush bar regularly for optimum performance. Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger and do not touch the trigger.

The cleaner head housing is not washable; wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth. Do not put the brush bar in a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, microwave, or near a naked flame. Use only cold water and no detergents.

  1. Lift the red catch on the cleaner head to release the brush bar.
  2. Slide the brush bar out of the cleaner head. Twist the end cap and remove it. Do not wash the end cap.
  3. Wash the brush bar in cold water. Allow it to dry completely for at least 24 hours.
  4. Replace the brush bar and securely tighten the fastener. Ensure it is fixed firmly before use.

Washing Your Laser Slim Fluffy™ Brush Bar

Your Laser Slim Fluffy™ cleaner head has a washable brush bar. Check and wash it regularly.

Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger and do not touch the trigger. Do not put any part of the machine in a dishwasher or use detergents, polishes, or air fresheners.

  1. Remove your brush bar: Press the cleaner head release button, place the cleaner head upside down, push the end cap up fully, and pull the brush bar out.
  2. Wash and dry your brush bar: Hold under running water and gently rub to remove lint or dirt. Stand the brush bar upright with the closed end facing upwards to dry completely for at least 24 hours.
  3. Replace your brush bar: Ensure it is completely dry. Reattach the end cap. Slide the brush bar into the cleaner head. Push the end cap back down to the closed position. Ensure the end cap is attached at an angle less than 90° to close properly.

Cleaning Your Laser Lens

Keep the laser lens clean for optimum performance. Clean only when the cleaner head is not attached. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the lens.

Washing Your Soft Roller Brush Bar

Follow the instructions for washing your brush bar. Ensure it is completely dry before reassembly.

Washing Your Tools

Do not put any part of your machine in a dishwasher or use detergents, polishes, or air fresheners. Wash with cold tap water and ensure tools are completely dry before use.

Your Hair screw tool and Light pipe crevice tool are not washable. Wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth, avoiding the connector ends.

Using Your High Torque XL Cleaner Head

The High Torque XL cleaner head has a slider control to adjust suction.

  • + (Maximum suction): For ground-in dust and debris, durable floor coverings, hard floors, and heavily soiled carpets and rugs.
  • Δ (Medium suction): For dust and debris, lightly-soiled carpets, rugs, and hard flooring. For large debris like peanuts or rice.
  • - (Low suction): For deep pile carpets and delicate flooring, or where greater resistance is experienced. For lightly soiled floors and delicate flooring like vinyl, parquet, and lino.

Looking for Blockages

Your machine has an automatic cut-out. If blocked, the machine will pulse and the LCD screen will indicate a blockage. Be careful not to pull the trigger while checking. Ensure all blockages are cleared and parts refitted before use.

Beware of sharp objects when checking for blockages. Clearing blockages is not covered by your guarantee.

If a blockage cannot be cleared from the cleaner head, remove the brush bar using a coin to unlock the fastener. Remove the obstruction, replace the brush bar, and securely tighten the fastener. Ensure it is fixed firmly before use.

Carbon fibre brushes may cause minor skin irritation; wash hands after handling.

Clearing Blockages from Your Soft Roller Cleaner Head

Follow the visual guide to remove and clear any obstructions from the soft roller cleaner head.

Clearing Blockages from Your Hair Screw Tool

Your Hair screw tool does not have a washable brush bar. Check and clear obstructions regularly.

Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger and do not touch the trigger.

  1. Remove the cover and brush bar: Remove the Hair screw tool from the wand. Push the base plate open. Press the red lever down to release the cleaner head cover and pull it off. Pull the brush bar firmly from the main body.
  2. Look for obstructions: Remove any hair or fibres wrapped around the brush bar. Check and remove obstructions from all three parts of the tool. Wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth. Do not put any part in a dishwasher or use detergents, polishes, or air fresheners.
  3. Re-assemble Hair screw tool: Put the brush bar back into position until it clicks. Check the red locking lever is unlocked. Align the cleaner head cover with the guide on the main body and push until it clicks. Push the red locking lever up until it clicks and push the base plate back into place.
