Important Note: Before installing switches, ensure the pins are clean and straight. ⚠️
Included Tools
The package includes a Switch Puller and a Keycap Puller.
Removing Switches
A diagram shows the included tools and a mechanical switch. The switch puller tool is designed to align vertically with the switch to unclip the plastic securing it to the plate.
- Grip the switch vertically with the Switch Removal Tool.
- Apply pressure with the Switch Puller until the switch releases from the plate.
- Pull the switch away from the keyboard using a firm but gentle vertical motion.
Installing Switches
A diagram illustrates pushing a switch straight down. Ensure pins are aligned with the slots. Be gentle. ⚠️
- Check that all switch metallic pins are perfectly straight and clean.
- Align the switch vertically, ensuring the Gateron logo faces north. The pins should align with the keyboard PCB.
- Press the switch down until you hear a click, indicating the clips have attached to the keyboard plate.
- Inspect the switch to ensure it is properly attached and test it.
Note: If a key doesn't work, a switch may have been bent during installation. Remove and repeat the process. Pins can be damaged beyond repair. Never apply excessive force. Contact customer service if you encounter issues.
