How to Use
Installation and Charging
- Step 1: Install the Rechargeable Battery into the battery compartment of your Xbox Wireless Controller.
- Step 2: Attach the correct Charge-thru Battery Door to the back of the Xbox Wireless Controller. Check the underside of the door: 'A' is for Xbox One, and 'B' is for Xbox Series X.
- Step 3: Secure the Charge-thru Battery Door to your controller.
- Step 4: Connect the USB cable to the battery and the Xbox. (Note: USB cable sold separately).
- Step 5: Check the LED color for charge status: Amber indicates charging, and White indicates fully charged.
Charging Notes
- For battery charge level, check the Xbox on-screen display.
- The battery can also be charged when not installed in the controller.
- The controller remains functional when charging while the battery is installed.
Charging
- Connect a standard Micro B USB cable (sold separately).
- Do not connect the USB Charge Cable to any USB AC adapters.
- Do not charge batteries on flammable surfaces like mattresses, couches, or other flammable materials.
- Do not leave batteries unattended for long periods.
- Do not cover the controller while charging with blankets, pillows, or bedding.
- Ensure proper ventilation.
Troubleshooting
Q1: The Play and Charge Kit Rechargeable Battery is not charging.
- A1: The battery requires a powered USB source. Confirm your Xbox is powered ON.
- A2: Confirm the USB Charge Cable is connected correctly to the battery and/or the Xbox.
- A3: Confirm the Rechargeable Battery and Charge-thru Battery Door are installed correctly.
Q2: The Play and Charge Kit Rechargeable Battery is not charging on the PowerA Charging Stand or Charging Station.
- A1: Confirm the Xbox Wireless Controller is placed correctly on the PowerA Charging Stand or Charging Station.
- A2: Confirm the Charging Stand or Charging Station is properly connected to a powered USB port.
- A3: Confirm the Charging Stand or Charging Station charge cradle is pushed down into the charging position.
- A4: If using the PowerA Charging Station, confirm it is properly connected to an AC powered wall outlet.
Important Safety Warnings
Battery Leakage Warning
Leakage of battery pack ingredients or combustion of product ingredients can cause personal injury and damage to the game controller. Avoid contact with skin. If contact occurs, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If battery liquid contacts eyes, flush thoroughly with water and seek medical attention.
Battery Handling Warning
Do not attempt to replace the rechargeable battery yourself, as this may damage it, leading to overheating, fire, and injury. The Lithium-ion battery should be serviced or recycled by PowerA or an authorized provider. Dispose of batteries according to local environmental laws and guidelines.
Do not expose the product containing rechargeable batteries to very high temperatures (e.g., direct sunlight or hot vehicles). Overheating can cause fire, reduced performance, or shortened service life.
Do not use the rechargeable battery in locations with high static electricity, as this may damage internal safety devices and cause hazardous situations.
If the battery emits an odor, generates heat, or appears abnormal during use, recharging, or storage, immediately remove it from the charger and place it in a sealed container, such as a metal box.
Discarded batteries can cause fire. Do not heat the controller or throw it into fire.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for other foreseeable loss or damage. If purchased within Australia or New Zealand, this product comes with a One-year warranty from date of purchase. Defects must appear within one year from date of purchase to claim warranty.
