This document provides assembly instructions for the EKBY ALEX shelf with drawers from IKEA. Please follow these steps carefully to ensure correct assembly.

Assembly Steps
- Step 1: Prepare the main shelf panels. Attach drawer slide mechanisms (127102) to the two long shelf panels. Insert small screws (112614) and cam bolts (118331) into the pre-drilled holes as shown in the diagram.
- Step 2: Assemble the drawer slide components. Insert cam locks (110853) into the drawer slide mechanisms (127102) and secure them by turning them clockwise. The diagram shows these parts being connected to a side panel.
- Step 3: Attach the side support pieces to the bottom shelf panel. Use wooden dowels (101345) for alignment and screws to secure them. The diagram shows two upright pieces being attached to a flat panel.
- Step 4: Attach the drawer runner brackets (103114) to the side support pieces. Use cam locks (102509) and screws. The diagram illustrates these brackets being fastened to the upright pieces.
- Step 5: Attach the second set of side support pieces to the bottom shelf panel, mirroring the process in Step 3. Use wooden dowels (101345) and screws.
- Step 6: Attach the top shelf panel to the assembled side supports. Use wooden dowels (101345) and screws to secure it. The diagram shows the top panel being placed and fastened.
- Step 7: Attach the back panel to the main shelf unit. Use small nails (101221) and a hammer to secure the back panel along the edges of the unit. The diagram shows the back panel being nailed into place.
- Step 8: Assemble the drawer boxes. Connect the sides of the drawer boxes to the drawer fronts using cam bolts (118331) and cam locks. The diagram shows two drawer boxes being constructed.
- Step 9: Attach the drawer side supports to the drawer boxes. Use wooden dowels (101345) for alignment and screws to secure them. The diagram shows these upright pieces being attached to the sides of the drawer boxes.
- Step 10: Attach the drawer front supports to the drawer boxes. Use cam locks (102509) and screws (103114). The diagram illustrates the front pieces being fastened.
- Step 11: Insert the drawer bottom panel into the grooves of the assembled drawer box. The diagram shows the panel sliding into place.
- Step 12: Complete the drawer box assembly by attaching the remaining side panel. The diagram shows the final side panel being attached, enclosing the drawer.
- Step 13: Secure the assembled drawer boxes. Use large screws (110519) and a hammer or screwdriver to fasten them. The diagram shows screws being driven into the sides of the drawer boxes.
- Step 14: Insert the assembled drawers into the main shelf unit. Secure the drawers from the front using small screws (105021). The diagram shows the drawers being slid into place and then secured.
