Getting Started
Follow these steps to set up your PERFORM-V:
Step 1: Connect Microphone
Connect your microphone to the MIC IN port on the PERFORM-V.
Step 2: Connect Audio Output
Connect your speakers or audio interface to the OUTPUT L/R ports.
Step 3A: Connect Headphones
Connect your headphones to the HEADPHONE jack. Adjust the volume using the dedicated headphone volume knob.
Step 3B: Connect to Mixer/Interface
Connect the PERFORM-V to your mixer or audio interface using appropriate audio cables.
Step 4: Set Gain
With your microphone connected and speaking loudly, press and hold the GAIN button for 2 seconds. The PERFORM-V will automatically set the optimal input level.
Step 5: FX ON/OFF
Press the FX ON/OFF button to toggle effects on or off. A green LED indicates effects are ON, while white indicates OFF.
Step 6: Presets
A Preset is a collection of effects designed to create a specific overall sound. Any changes you make to Presets are automatically saved.
Key Features
Tone (AUTO EQ)
Automatically applies EQ, compression, de-essing, and gating to your voice, enhancing your vocal sound.
Anti-Feedback
Helps eliminate unwanted squealing or feedback from your speakers. It reduces the signal level when activated.
Pitch Correction
Subtly adjusts your vocal pitch to the nearest semi-tone, improving accuracy without sounding unnatural.
Talk Mode (FX BYPASS)
Pressing this button bypasses all active effects, allowing you to speak clearly to your audience without vocal processing.
Tap Tempo
Tap the TAP button in time with your music to set the tempo for the Echo effect. This tempo setting is global and not saved within individual Presets.
+48V Phantom Power
For condenser microphones that require phantom power, press and hold the +48V button to activate it.
Effect Editing
Editing Effects
To adjust an effect, hold its corresponding button to enter edit mode. Turn the control knob to adjust the effect's volume. The LED segments will fill to indicate the level.
Changing Styles
Once an effect's level reaches its maximum, the LED ring will reset and change the effect's style (sound). The LED color will also change to reflect the selected style.
Pitch Meter
A visual display that shows your current pitch relative to the nearest semi-tone.
Connections and Updates
Music In
Connect your music playback device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the MUSIC IN port to play backing tracks.
Updates & Presets
Visit tc-helicon.com/products/voicesupport/ for software updates and additional presets for your PERFORM-V.
