Precautions for Using Built-in Wireless LAN

Disassembling or modifying the wireless circuit of the product may be punishable by law.

The following devices and radio stations use the same 2.4GHz frequency band as this product:

Radio interference may occur if the product is used near these devices or radio stations.

If interference occurs with medical devices such as pacemakers, turn off the product immediately.

If harmful radio interference occurs with specific low-power radio stations, private network radio stations, or amateur radio stations, please contact customer support.

Laser Safety Information

The laser distance sensor in this product complies with IEC 60825-1:2014 Class 1 laser product standards and does not emit hazardous laser radiation.

Preparation Before Use

Important

  1. Before using the product, clear the floor of valuables, fragile items, cables, and any objects that may obstruct the vacuum cleaner's operation or be sucked into the air inlet (e.g., plastic bags).
  2. Although the unit is equipped with drop prevention sensors, to prevent injury or damage to furniture and the unit, install anti-drop barriers when using it on high places.

Note: When using for the first time, observe the robot vacuum's movement and be mindful of obstacles.

1. Charging Dock Setup

Place the charging dock on a flat floor against a wall and plug it into an outlet. Position the charging dock in an area with good WiFi router signal strength.

2. Secure the Charging Dock with Adhesive Tape

Wipe the floor dry and use the adhesive tape on the bottom of the charging dock to secure it.

Note: If necessary, peel off the double-sided adhesive tape slowly to avoid leaving residue.

3. Power On and Charge the Unit

Press and hold the ☗ button to turn on the unit. Once the power lamp is lit, place the unit on the charging dock to begin charging. The charging dock's power lamp will turn off, and you will hear a voice prompt "Charging." To maintain battery performance, keep the unit charged at all times.

Note: The unit may not turn on if the battery is critically low. Connect the unit to the charging dock to charge.

4. Download the App

This product supports both the Roborock App and the Mi Home App. You can use either app. The Roborock App is recommended.

Search for "Roborock" on the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code to download the app.

5. Reset WiFi

Press and hold the ☗ and ⌂ buttons until you hear the voice prompt "Resetting WiFi." The WiFi lamp will flash slowly, indicating the reset is complete.

Note: If your WiFi router settings change, you forget your password, or your smartphone cannot connect, reset the WiFi and add the robot vacuum again.

6. Add Device

Open the app, tap "Find Device" in the center of the screen, and follow the on-screen instructions to add the device. Refer to the Quick Start Guide for details.

Operation

On/Off

Press and hold the ☗ button to turn the unit on. The power lamp will light up, and the unit will enter standby mode. Press and hold the ☗ button to turn the unit off, which will also end any ongoing cleaning.

Note: The unit cannot be turned off while charging.

Start Cleaning

Press the ☗ button to start cleaning. The unit will scan the room and generate a map, then plan an efficient cleaning path. It will first clean along the edges of the room and then clean in a Z-shaped pattern with minimal turns.

Notes:

Charging

The power lamp will flash slowly when the unit is charging.

Note: If the unit cannot find the charging dock, it will return to its starting point. Manually place the unit on the charging dock to charge.

Pause

Pressing any button during operation will pause the unit. Pressing the ☗ button will resume cleaning, while pressing the ⌂ button will return the unit to the charging dock, ending the current cleaning session.

Note: Manually connecting a paused unit to the charging dock will end the current cleaning session.

Spot Cleaning

While the unit is in standby or paused mode, press and hold the ⌂ button to start spot cleaning. This mode cleans a 1.5m x 1.5m area around the unit's center. After cleaning, it will return to the starting point and enter standby mode.

Note: Starting spot cleaning while the unit is paused will end the ongoing cleaning session.

Do Not Disturb Mode

When Do Not Disturb mode is set in the app, the unit will not resume cleaning or provide voice prompts during the set time. The power lamp will dim, and voice volume will be reduced. This mode is enabled by default from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. You can disable it or change the time settings.

Sleep Mode

If the unit is inactive for over 10 minutes, it will enter sleep mode, and the power lamp will flash slowly. Pressing any button will wake the unit from sleep mode.

Error

If an error occurs, the power lamp will flash red rapidly. Follow the voice prompts for instructions.

Notes:

System Reset

If the buttons are unresponsive or the unit cannot be turned off, use a toothpick or similar object to press the system reset button to reset the unit. The unit will restart after the reset.

Notes:

Restore to Factory Settings

If the system reset does not resolve the issue, press and hold the ☗ button and the reset button simultaneously until you hear the voice prompt "Restoring to initial version."

Follow the guidelines below to maintain optimal performance.

Note: Replacement frequency depends on actual usage conditions. Replace parts if excessive wear or cracks are observed.

Main Brush

  1. Flip the unit over, press the latch, and remove the main brush cover.
  2. Lift and remove the main brush, then pull out the bearing.
  3. Use the included main brush cleaning tool to remove debris tangled around the main brush and bearing.
  4. Notes:

    • If there is a lot of tangled debris, remove it carefully to avoid damaging the main brush.
    • Be careful when using the main brush cleaning tool. Keep out of reach of children.
  5. Reinstall the main brush and bearing in their original positions. Attach the main brush cover and secure it with the lock.

    Notes:

    • Wipe the main brush with a damp cloth. Dry completely in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight.
    • Do not use detergents or disinfectants to clean the main brush.

Side Brush

  1. Flip the unit over and remove the screws for the side brush.
  2. Remove and clean the side brush.
  3. Reinstall the side brush and tighten the screws.

Note: The bracket cannot be removed.

Front Wheel

  1. Flip the unit over.
  2. Use a screwdriver or similar tool to lift and remove the wheel.

  4. Rinse the axle and wheel with water to remove hair and debris.
  5. Dry the axle and wheel, then push them back into the bracket to reinstall.

Rear Wheel

  1. Flip the unit over.
  2. Wipe the rear wheel with a soft, dry cloth.

Dustbin and Air Filter

  1. Remove the dustbin.
  2. Remove the air filter in the direction of the arrow and discard the dust.

    Note: Wash with tap water only, without detergents.

  4. Rinse the air filter frame repeatedly with water and gently pat it to remove dirt. Repeat until the air filter is clean.

    Note: Do not scrub with a brush or scrape with your fingers, as this may damage the air filter.

  6. Ensure the dustbin and air filter are completely dry (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling.

    Note: Replace the filter with a new one as needed.

Main Unit Sensors

Wipe the following sensors with a soft, dry cloth:

  1. Charging Sensor
  2. Wall Sensor
  3. Drop Prevention Sensor

Charging Terminals

Wipe the charging terminals on the charging dock and the robot vacuum main unit with a soft, dry cloth.

Battery Removal

When disposing of this product, please remove the battery. The removed battery is a valuable resource. Please take it to a rechargeable battery recycling center or follow your local municipality's recycling guidelines. Alternatively, contact customer support.

Battery Removal Procedure

*Only remove the battery when disposing of the product.

  1. Turn off the robot vacuum.
  2. Notes:

    • Ensure the battery is completely depleted before removal.
    • Do not remove the battery if the unit is connected to the charging dock.
  3. Remove the screws from the battery cover and remove the cover.

    Notes:

    • Remove the entire battery pack.
    • Do not damage the battery pack to prevent short circuits or leakage.
    • If battery fluid gets into your eyes, do not rub them. Rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical attention.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

ProblemSolution
Power is not turning onThe battery level is low. Please return the unit to the charging dock to charge it before use. The unit's temperature is too high (above 40°C) or too low (below 4°C). Use the unit within the 4°C to 40°C range.
Cannot chargeThe charging dock may not be powered. Check if the power cable is properly connected and if the charging lamp is lit.
Charging speed is slowUsing the unit in high or low temperature environments may automatically reduce charging speed to extend battery life. The charging terminals may be dirty. Wipe the dirty parts with a dry cloth.
Does not return to charging dockThere may be obstacles near the charging dock. Remove any obstacles. The unit may be too far from the charging dock. Place the unit closer to the charging dock.
Abnormal operationTurn off the unit and then turn it back on.
Noise during cleaningForeign objects may be tangled around the main brush, side brush, front wheel, or rear wheel, causing noise. Turn off the unit and clean these parts.
Cannot connect to WiFiWiFi may be disabled. Reset the WiFi and try again. The WiFi signal may be weak. Try again in an area with better WiFi reception. WiFi connection may be abnormal. Reset the WiFi, download the latest app, and try connecting again. This product does not support 5GHz WiFi networks. Please connect to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
Suction power is low or dust falls outThe dustbin may be full. Empty the dustbin. The air filter may be clogged. Clean the filter. Foreign objects may be tangled around the main brush. Remove any tangled objects.
Scheduled cleaning does not workThe battery level is low. Scheduled cleaning is only active when the battery level is above 20%.
Does the battery drain when the unit is connected to the charging dock?The battery is used in very small amounts even when connected to the charging dock. Continuous charging helps maintain optimal battery performance.
Does the unit need to be fully charged before first use?Yes, please fully charge the unit before first use.
Cleaning does not resume after chargingCheck if Do Not Disturb mode is enabled. Cleaning will not resume during the set Do Not Disturb period. If the unit was manually connected to the charging dock, cleaning will not resume.
Cannot return to charging dock after spot cleaning or manual movementAfter spot cleaning or significant position changes, the unit regenerates the map. If the charging dock is far away, the unit may not be able to return automatically for charging. Manually place the unit near the charging dock.
Missed spots during cleaningThe wall sensor or drop prevention sensor may be dirty. Wipe them with a dry cloth.

Warranty Terms

1. (Content of Warranty Terms)

These warranty terms guarantee that Roborock Customer Support Center will provide free exchange or repair for malfunctions occurring during the warranty period specified in this warranty card, under normal use according to the instruction manual, product label, and precautions. These terms do not guarantee the performance, results, or operational outcomes that customers may expect from the Roborock Q5.

2. (Validity of Warranty)

This warranty card guarantees free exchange or repair of the Roborock Q5 to which this warranty card is attached, based on the conditions and period specified in these warranty terms. Therefore, this warranty does not limit your legal rights.

3. (Scope of Warranty)

Free exchange or repair under these warranty terms applies only to the main unit of the Roborock Q5.

4. (Customer Responsibility)

To receive free exchange or repair under these warranty terms, please contact Roborock Customer Support Center in advance, and send the product along with the warranty card via cash-on-delivery. For paid repairs due to customer misuse, or for repairs after the warranty period has expired, shipping costs and other expenses will be borne by the customer. Thank you for your understanding.

5. (Warranty Period)

The warranty period is calculated from the product's purchase date as indicated on the warranty card. If the purchase date is not filled in, it will be calculated based on receipts or purchase history and the warranty period will be set accordingly.

6. (Handling of Personal Information)

Personal information provided by customers may be used for warranty service and subsequent safety inspection activities. Information may also be entrusted to repair service companies commissioned by us for repairs. We assure you that such information will be handled in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law and our company's personal information protection regulations.

7. (Cases Not Covered by Warranty)

Even within the warranty period, the following cases will be subject to paid repair. Please understand this in advance.

  1. If this warranty card is not presented.
  2. If the wording of these warranty terms or other parts of the warranty is altered.
  3. Damage or malfunction caused by natural disasters such as typhoons, floods, earthquakes, lightning, or secondary disasters, as well as fire, pollution, abnormal voltage, or loss.
  4. Damage or malfunction resulting from handling the product contrary to the instruction manual, product label, or precautions.
  5. Damage or malfunction caused by modification by a third party other than Beijing Roborock Technology Co., Ltd., or by the customer's own negligence.
